Remarks
There are some positive and negative things about our university/ college. Positives being good environment for study, good 24*7 library facility with good collection of useful books, magazines, news papers, periodicals, good laboratory facilities. Negatives being lack of faculty members, lack of specialised lab technicians etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The present course curriculum for PhD is of advanced concepts in this we learn so many advances in Agricultural Economics. This curriculum should be reviewed and revised time to time so that new emerging dimensions can be added. The education system is of semesters type. There will internal examinations only no external examinations. Internal evaluation will be in the form of Announced quize, mid term exam, practical and final exam. Based on the amount of syllabus courses will be weighted based on credit hours.
Placement Experience
There are job opportunities in both public and private sectors. In public sector one can seek jobs in Agricultural universities, field officer in banks, department of agriculture like Agriculture officer, assistant director of agriculture, quality inspector etc. In private sector so many opportunities like seed companies, fertilizer companies, pesticide companies. But there is no time to recruitment in Agricultural universities.
College Events
Republic day, Ambedkar Jayanthi, Basaveshwara Jayanthi, Independence day, Gandhi Jayanthi, farmer's day, ICAR day, University foundation day, Babu jagajeevan Rao Jayanthi, youth day, women's day etc. In all these events atleast one recognised expert guests will be invited and there will also so many personality development programmes be organised for the betterment of students and faculty members
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is feasible compared to other professional course like engineering, pharmacy, BAMS, etc. For example for PhD. presently there is fee of ? 43500 actually this is expensive but OBC students of Karnataka state can get some concession in fee after applications invited from department of backward classes welfare department.
Fees and Financial Aid
Merit scholarship will be given for one meritorious student in each department both for MSC and PhD students. Students selected through ICAR quota will get sufficient amount of scholarship. Ex. For PhD ? 31000 per month and ? 12500 for MSc students.
Campus Life
There are so many extracurricular activities been conducted like Youth fastival at inter campus level, and selected candidates at inter agricultural University level. And same for sports as well. There are good laboratory facilities in each department.
Hostel Facilities
In PhD hostel, all rooms are equipped with attached bathrooms with two members per room. Hostels are well maintained and there will be approximately ? 4000 per month. Hostel food is good with heigene. Currently there is no WiFi facility as every student having their own internet connection.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a good wast network among alumnees and present juniors and seniors. Actually seniors are the real guides for juniors in their academic and non academic events right from how to prepare for national level exams, departmental exams and in aspects related to research
Admission
Through all India entrance examination for Ph D conducted by ICAR. ICAR will conduct entrance examination for filling 25 per cent of the seats for M. Sc and PhD at all state Agricultural universities throughout India. And also ICAR will provide fellowship to top ranked students in different disciplines like Agricultural Economics, Agricultural extension, Agronomy, Genetics and plant breeding, Agricultural entomology, plant pathology, agricultural microbiology etc.
Faculty
There are so many vacancies in our department as well as other departments. The present faculty is with lot of course work load conducting classes but if these vacant posts filled immediately professors can prepare and come for everyday's class
