I'm currently studying at NITK, so I can share insights about the placement scenario here at NITK Surathkal. I can't provide details about MNNIT Allahabad since I haven't been there. Here's a summary of the placements from the last academic year:

  • CSE students saw an average package of around Rs. 13 lakh.
  • IT students had an average package close to Rs. 10 lakh.

This data excludes off-campus offers and a small percentage of students who choose to go abroad for further studies. Overall, the placement scenario is quite decent.

Hope this information helps! Best of luck for your future! :)

MNNIT Allahabad offers a strong B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with impressive placements, boasting over 95% of students placed, thanks to visits from top companies like Microsoft and Amazon. The faculty is highly qualified, and the curriculum allows flexibility between software and hardware paths, which is a significant plus. In contrast, NIT Surathkal’s B.Tech in Civil Engineering, while reputable, typically has fewer tech-oriented companies visiting for placements, focusing more on core civil firms.

Both colleges provide a vibrant campus life, but MNNIT seems to have the edge in overall student experience and opportunities in the tech sector. Personally, I would lean towards MNNIT Allahabad if I’m looking for dynamic placements and a tech-focused career. However, if you are passionate about civil engineering and prefer a traditional engineering route, NIT Surathkal is still a solid choice.

Let me tell you that MNNIT Allahabad has one of the best placement scenarios among NITs. In 2020, the average placement for the CSE branch was 18 LPA, and for the IT branch, it was 17 LPA. Even in the Electrical Engineering branch, the highest package reached 49 LPA, while in the ECE branch, it was 39 LPA. This clearly demonstrates the strong coding culture at MNNIT Allahabad. That's why, despite average infrastructure, MNNIT Allahabad has always been a dream college for many aspirants from North India!

MNNIT Allahabad's B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering clearly has an edge over NIT Surathkal's B.Tech in Civil Engineering when it comes to placements and internships. With top-tier companies like Microsoft and Amazon visiting MNNIT and a staggering 95%+ placement rate, the opportunities seem more lucrative for students in ECE. NIT Surathkal does have a strong reputation, especially in Civil Engineering, but the sheer number of high-paying internship offers at MNNIT makes it a more appealing choice for those looking to maximize their job prospects.

If you're inclined towards tech and want to tap into lucrative software and hardware roles, MNNIT is the better pick. However, if you're passionate about civil engineering and prefer a reputed college, NIT Surathkal is still a solid option.

MNNIT Allahabad for B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering offers a solid ROI with around 95% placement rates and top companies like Microsoft and Amazon visiting, which is impressive considering the curriculum allows for both software and hardware roles. In contrast, NIT Surathkal’s B.Tech in Civil Engineering likely has a lower placement percentage as civil engineering jobs are often more location-specific and may not attract as many big MNCs, although it has its strengths. Scholarships at MNNIT can significantly reduce tuition for eligible students, making it a more financially viable option. For those focused on technology and high-paying placements, MNNIT would be the smarter choice, while NIT Surathkal might suit those passionate about civil engineering but possibly at a higher cost with less immediate financial return.
