Is it worth doing an BBA/BMS at DTU if my main goal is to land a high-paying job??

Honestly, doing a BBA at DTU is a mixed bag if you're eyeing a high-paying job. The placement stats show that only about 30-35% of students land jobs through the college placement cell, which is pretty low. The highest package offered is 13.5 LPA, and the average sits at around 6 LPA. If you're determined to make the most out of it, you might need to put in a lot of extra effort on networking and internships, especially since you have to find your own internship after the new rules were implemented. So, while the course itself is solid with good faculty, just be prepared to hustle for those jobs.

I chose BBA at DTU because I've always been interested in business. The curriculum is decent, but the reality of placements hit hard. The top recruiters like PWC and Deloitte do visit, but the competition is fierce. Only 30-35% of students get placed, and most of my friends are actually opting for higher education instead of immediate jobs.

The internship experience varies widely; some don’t even pay while others can give you around 10,000 per month. If you're really set on a high-paying job, you might want to consider this carefully and maybe think about further studies after BBA.

New course, new structures. This question can be approached differently: how are DTU's new branches performing now, and what does the future hold?

To tackle the latter first, DTU is an absolute beast for Engineering B Tech aspirants. New branches are emerging, and they are shaping up to be excellent. So, you can expect BBA and Eco Hons to be impressive as well.

Now, regarding the future: demand is going to explode. The simple reason? It’s a government college, and the students on campus are exceptionally talented. A campus filled with talent elevates the courses, leading to high competition and great peers. The future is bright, but it’s up to you to seize the opportunity. You can't lose or feel like you made a wrong choice; in the end, it’s your hard work that pays off, not the teachers or friends.

Cheer up and join! Mathematics and Computing in 2012 had a cutoff of 19000 to 21000 ranks, below civil, yet it secured the highest placements during the placement seasons. Newer branches tend to perform better at DTU. I hope this answer motivates you to consider DTU positively!

The department was established in 2017, focusing primarily on management and entrepreneurship programs.
The B.B.A. program at DTU’s East Delhi Campus aims to provide a solid foundational understanding of management education and prepare students to navigate the business environment.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have scored at least 50% in the 12th Board Examination from a recognized Board.
• English (Core/Elective/Functional) must be passed as a subject in the 12th Board Examination.

Selection Criteria

• A merit list will be created based on marks in the best of four subjects (including English) in the XII Board Examination or its equivalent.
• To resolve ties among candidates with the same percentage in the best of four subjects (including English), the following criteria will be applied in order of preference:
  • Candidates with a higher score in English (Core/Elective/Functional) will be prioritized.
  • If the English scores are the same, the date of birth will be considered, with older candidates receiving preference.

Honestly, if you have other options, consider them. I don’t understand why students choose DTU for BBA. It’s known for its Science programs, which is why the name carries some weight, but BBA isn’t on the same level.

As a current DTU student, I can tell you that the staff is not supportive at all. If you have any queries, they just keep giving you dates without providing real answers. They often blame you for their mistakes.

Here’s one experience: I had an issue with registration. I emailed them, but they replied after four days with a response that made no sense. Then they just kept pushing me to contact them on various dates without resolving my issue. When it got too late, I went to the campus for help, and instead of a solution, I was blamed for not following up sooner. They asked, "Where were you these days? The last date has passed; we can’t do anything now."

Their only suggestion was to visit the main campus, where the faculty there told me they didn’t know anything about the East campus and that I should go back there. It’s just a waste of time!
