IIM Rohtak is a very newly established IIM that has yet to make its place in the IIM family. Because of its recent establishment people deem it not worthy of the IIM tag. But in reality, it’s gradually picking up pace and by the time its first batch will graduate (2024), it will have climbed the ladder higher. 

People think the IPM program offered by IIM Rohtak is a backdoor for people who want to escape the CAT exam. In reality, most of the students plan to give CAT or GMAT or both at the end of their third year.

Even if one compares Rohtak and Indore, we can clearly see that Rohtak is way ahead of Indore. The first batch placements of Rohtak are better than Indore. 

Some consider the lack of connectivity and cost also a reason why Rohtak is not worth it. But let me shed some light on this matter. Rohtak is just 70 km away from Delhi. The International airport is just an hour or two 's drive from the campus. So the connectivity issue is resolved here. As far as the cost is considered, one should not underestimate the 5 years he will be spending at an IIM campus with top-notch facilities and the most learned faculty and brilliant peers. All the investment is worth it. The final decision is yours to make but does remember that IIM Rohtak will have climbed the ladder in just a few years.

IP University in total has 6300 seats for BBA (General / BI / CAM ) divided into 37 colleges. If you are interested in doing BBA, it is suggested you choose among the top 5 colleges.

The Top 5 colleges include :

• Maharaja Surajmal Institute - 420 seats.
• Maharaja Agrasen Institute - 360 seats.
• Vivekanand Institute of Professional Studies - 360 seats.
• Jagannath Institute of Management Studies, Rohini - 120 seats.
• Jagannath Institute of Management Studies, Vasant Kunj - 240 seats.

The BBA from these colleges have a well crafted curriculum. They also are equipped with the necessary and modern facilities to stay updated to the industry trends. They will train you with proper managerial skills which will be beneficial for your career ahead.

After graduating with a BBA degree from these colleges, you can get job opportunities like: Business Development Executive, Assistant Project Manager, SAP Consultant, Operations Team Leader, HR Manager, Assistant Manager - Finance, etc.

There are a lot of factors which should be kept in mind while opting for either of the colleges. Some of such factors are mentioned below. 

Attendance- 

• For attendance, HR is way more lenient than NM College. If you have a valid reason for low attendance such as preparation of CR, then you might be exempted. 
• However, this doesn't work in NM college, they are extremely strict about their attendance.

Distance- If you are a resident of Mumbai then you should consider the distance of the college from your home. It is an important factor to consider, and saves a lot of time and money.

Focus area- 

• If your goal is holistic development i.e. curriculum studies plus co-curricular activities, then NM college is the preferred choice. 
• HR is close to NM in this race. But NM provides a wider exposure owing to its central location of the college, surrounded by various other universities.

Let’s take a look at the advantages of all the above-mentioned colleges in a tabular form below.

Community- Often this factor is excluded while selecting a college, but this factor is as important as any of the above-mentioned factors. Although, if you have good people skills, you don’t need to consider it. But if you need a community then, in NM you will be surrounded by Gurjatis and in HR by Sindhis.

Infrastructure- 

• NM College is up-to-date with its infrastructure regardless of the fact that it is one of the oldest and well-known colleges in Mumbai. 
• HR College is outdated, not maintained, in terms of infrastructure.

Cost- If you are not a resident of Mumbai, South Mumbai is expensive in comparison to West Mumbai. 

Thus, keeping the above analysis in mind, NM College is the best out of the four colleges.
