IIM Fees for MBA: Check Fees of Old, New and Baby IIMs

As per the latest official updates from the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), the MBA fees for the 2025–27 batch vary from ₹10 lakh and ₹33 lakh.

IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta charge around ₹26–₹33 lakh for the two-year MBA (PGP/PGP-M) where whereas New and baby IIMs such as IIM Nagpur, IIM Jammu, and IIM Amritsar charge between ₹15–₹18 lakh.

Top IIMs charge high fees because the average placement package of these institutions is around ₹25–35 LPA, which provides a good ROI for the students.

Old IIMs MBA Fees (2025–27 Batch)

The older IIMs are still the first preference among MBA students. These premium Old IIMs have good placement records over the years and also have won the trust of the industry.

IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta charge fees of ₹21–33 lakh and are still able to attract international companies for recruitment with salaries of more than ₹30 LPA.

New IIMs MBA Fees (2025–27 Batch)

The newer IIMs ( Established year range 2008-2011) are gradually charging higher fees as compared to the old IIMs, and it’s because these New IIMs provide excellent return on investments at slightly higher fees of around ₹16–18.5 lakh.

• IIM Rohtak has an average package of ₹19.5 LPA, while IIM Tiruchirappalli reported ₹20.5 LPA.
• In the same trend, IIM Ranchi and IIM Raipur also have averages that are close to ₹17–18 LPA; thus, these institutions are very competitive for MBA students for the period 2025–27.

Baby IIMs MBA Fees (2025-27 Batch)

• Among the baby IIMs, IIM Udaipur tops the list with a fee structure of ₹21 lakh and an average package touching ₹22 LPA, driven by international collaborations and consulting placements.
• IIM Visakhapatnam is not very far behind with ₹17.5 lakh fees and ₹21 LPA average salaries, and is showing rapid growth in the number of recruiters.
• IIM Amritsar and IIM Nagpur have the same return on investment, with ₹17–18 LPA averages for a ₹17–18 lakh investment.
• On the other hand, IIM Bodh Gaya, Jammu, and Sirmaur have been posting 90–100% placements continuously, which indicates that they are gaining acceptance by the industry rapidly.

Comparison of Fees and Placements Across IIMs

The old IIMs (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta) usually charge the most, with fees of about INR 25 to 27 lakh, but at the same time, the highest average placement packages are offered, usually above INR 30 LPA, which offers a good return on investments.

However, the top domestic package offered at certain IIMs exceeded Rs 1 crore. The newer IIMs, on the other hand, have lower fees (approximately INR 17 to 22 lakh) and average placements of INR 13 to 27 LPA; therefore, the investment will take longer to be recouped.
