WBJEE Seat Allotment 2026 Dates

WBJEE 2026 counselling runs across three rounds. Each round has its own registration and choice-filling window, allotment result date and acceptance/reporting window. The table below lists all three rounds with upcoming rounds shown first, followed by the completed round, as of July 12, 2026.

Round Registration / Choice Filling Allotment Result Date Acceptance / Reporting Window Status
Round 2 July 13–17, 2026 July 21, 2026 July 21–23, 2026 Upcoming

Round 1 June 30 – July 5, 2026 July 7, 2026 July 7–11, 2026 Released (Over)

Round 2 is an upgradation round. Students who selected the upgradation option after Round 1 allotment, and students who received no allotment in Round 1, are eligible to participate. Students allotted their first-choice college in Round 1 are not eligible for Round 2. Round 3 (Mop-Up) is the final round and fills all seats remaining vacant after Rounds 1 and 2. Seats freed by students who did not accept allotments in earlier rounds are redistributed in subsequent rounds.

How to Check

How to Check WBJEE Seat Allotment Result 2026

The allotment result for each round is published through the Candidate Activity Board on the official WBJEEB portal. Log in on or after the allotment result date for each respective round using the steps below.

  1. Open the official WBJEEB portal at wbjeeb.nic.in.
  2. Click the "Candidate Activity Board" link on the home page.
  3. Enter your WBJEE 2026 roll number and registered password in the login fields.
  4. Type the security PIN shown on screen and click Login.
  5. On the candidate dashboard, click the "Seat Allotment Result" tab.
  6. Your allotted college name, branch and allotment category will appear on screen.
  7. Click "Download Provisional Allotment Letter" and save the file for use during fee payment and physical reporting.

You must log in as soon as the allotment result is published because the acceptance window opens on the same day and closes within two to three days. WBJEEB does not send individual reminders. Missing the acceptance deadline leads to automatic forfeiture of the allotted seat with no appeal process.

Accept / Freeze / Float

Accept, Freeze or Float — What to Do After Allotment

Once you view your allotment, you must select one of three options within the acceptance window. Your choice determines whether you secure only the current seat, stay in contention for a better one in later rounds or exit the counselling process entirely.

Option What It Means When to Choose
Accept and Freeze You pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm the allotted seat. You will not appear in any subsequent round’s allotment process. When you are satisfied with the allotted college and branch and do not want to risk losing it in a later round.
Accept and Choose Upgradation You pay the acceptance fee and hold the current seat, but remain eligible for a better allotment in Rounds 2 or 3 based on your original choice list. When the current allotment is acceptable but a higher-preference college or branch may be available in Round 2 or Round 3.
Do Nothing You take no action during the acceptance window. The allotted seat is automatically forfeited and you are removed from the current counselling cycle. Only if you have firmly decided not to take admission through WBJEE 2026 counselling.

Students who chose "Accept and Choose Upgradation" in Round 1 must participate in Round 2 choice filling from July 13 to 17, 2026 to update their preferences before the Round 2 allotment. If a better seat is allotted in Round 2, the Round 1 seat is automatically vacated and the Round 2 allotment becomes the new confirmed seat. Any difference in acceptance fee between the two allotments will need to be settled online within the Round 2 acceptance window.

Seat Acceptance Fee

WBJEE Seat Acceptance Fee 2026

The seat acceptance fee is a refundable deposit that must be paid online to confirm an allotted seat within the acceptance window for that round. The fee amount depends on the type of institute allotted and, for government institutes, the admission category.

Institute Type / Category Seat Acceptance Fee
Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Category ₹3,000
Government / State-Aided Institutes (General and reservation categories) ₹5,000
Self-Financing Universities / Institutes ₹40,000

Payment is accepted via net banking, credit card or debit card through the Candidate Activity Board portal. The fee must be paid before the acceptance window closes for each round — no extension is granted and the portal disables payment after the deadline.

The seat acceptance fee is refundable if you formally withdraw your admission within the withdrawal window that WBJEEB notifies separately. Withdrawal after that window closes, or failure to report to the allotted institute within the reporting period, results in forfeiture of the fee. The one-time counselling registration fee of ₹500 paid at initial registration is a separate, non-refundable charge and has no bearing on the acceptance fee.

Reporting Documents

Documents Required for Reporting

After paying the seat acceptance fee, you must complete physical reporting at the allotted institute within the reporting window. Carry originals and self-attested photocopies of every document listed below. Admission will be cancelled on the spot if any mandatory original document is missing or found invalid during verification.

Document Purpose
Class 10 admit card or birth certificate Age and identity verification
Class 10 mark sheet and pass certificate Proof of secondary-level qualification
Class 12 mark sheet and pass certificate Eligibility verification (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)

All category and reservation certificates must be valid and issued by the competent authority as prescribed in the official WBJEE 2026 counselling notification. Download the notification from wbjeeb.nic.in for the complete and updated list of acceptable issuing authorities.

If No Seat Allotted

What If No Seat Is Allotted

Not receiving a seat in Round 1 does not end your WBJEE 2026 counselling eligibility. Seats freed by students who did not accept their Round 1 allotment are redistributed in Round 2, so availability often improves in later rounds.

Students not allotted any seat in Round 1 can register for Round 2 and fill fresh choices on the WBJEEB portal from July 13 to 17, 2026. No additional registration fee is required. Your Round 2 allotment will be based on the new choice list you submit during that window and on seat availability after Round 1 acceptances are finalised.

If Round 2 also yields no seat, you can register for Round 3 (Mop-Up) from July 24 to 26, 2026. Round 3 allotment is scheduled for July 28, 2026. This is the final round of WBJEE 2026 counselling and covers all seats vacant across participating institutes after the first two rounds conclude.

For students who remain unallotted after all three rounds:

  • The ₹500 counselling registration fee is non-refundable.
  • No seat acceptance fee will have been charged, so there is no refund to process on that account.
  • You may check directly with individual institutes for any remaining seats offered through their own admission processes.
