WBJEE Application Form 2026: Registration Closed, How to Apply and Form Correction

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B.Pharm, and B.Arch programmes in government-aided and private engineering colleges across West Bengal. The WBJEE 2026 application form was open from 10 March 2026 to 8 April 2026 at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee. The form correction window was available from 10 April to 12 April 2026, and the examination was held on 24 May 2026.

What is WBJEE Application Form 2026?

The WBJEE application form is the official registration document that allows you to appear for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. For the 2026 cycle, WBJEEB released the application form on 10 March 2026; the registration window remained open until 8 April 2026 (extended from the original deadline). A total of 1,20,856 students registered for WBJEE 2026, of whom 94,901 appeared on exam day, 24 May 2026. The official portal for all WBJEE-related activity is wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee.

WBJEE 2026 provided access to B.E./B.Tech, B.Pharm, and B.Arch programmes in government-aided universities and private engineering colleges in West Bengal. The 2026 counselling cycle ran through July 2026, with a mop-up round concluding on 28 July 2026.

WBJEE Registration Trends — Last 5 Years

Exam appearance peaked in 2023 with nearly 1.25 lakh students sitting for WBJEE. The 2022 cycle saw a notable dip to around 81,000 — likely reflecting residual COVID-era disruption. The 2026 cycle saw the highest registration count (1.20 lakh) but the lowest appearance rate (~78.5%), suggesting a widening gap between sign-ups and exam-day turnout. WBJEE 2027 registrations are expected in the 1.1–1.3 lakh range based on the five-year trend.

WBJEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria (Before You Apply)

The eligibility criteria below applied to the WBJEE 2026 application. Review the WBJEE 2027 official notification at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee for any updates before applying in the next cycle.

Note: Students from outside West Bengal can appear for WBJEE, but without a valid WB domicile certificate they are eligible only for a limited number of open-state seats during counselling — not state quota seats. Apply for your domicile certificate well in advance if you are a West Bengal resident.

How to Fill WBJEE Application Form 2026

The WBJEE 2026 application was completed entirely online at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee. The process was divided into two phases: new registration and form filling.

Phase 1: New Registration

1. Visit wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee and click "New Registration".
2. Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID exactly as they appear on your Class 10 certificate.
3. Verify your mobile number with the OTP sent via SMS.
4. Create a strong password and note your Application Number — you need it for every subsequent login, admit card download, and counselling stage.
5. Save your credentials securely; WBJEEB did not dispatch password reminders by post.

Phase 2: Fill the Application Form

1. Log in using your Application Number and Password at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee.
2. Fill in personal details: name, date of birth, gender, category, nationality, and communication address.
3. Fill in academic details: Class 10 and Class 12 board, year of passing, roll number, and subject combination.
4. Select your exam centre preferences — up to four cities in order of preference.
5. Upload your passport-size photograph and signature in the format and size specified by WBJEEB.
6. Review all entries carefully — pay special attention to name spelling, date of birth, category, and subject combination.
7. Pay the application fee via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
8. Download and save the confirmation page — take a printout and retain it for admit card, exam entry, and counselling.

Note: Submit only one application form. Multiple applications from the same student were rejected outright and no fee refund was issued in any such case.

Check all details before submitting — once the correction window closed on 12 April 2026, no changes were accepted under any circumstances.

Documents Required for WBJEE Application Form 2026

The following documents were required while filling the WBJEE 2026 application form. Confirm specifications for WBJEE 2027 from the official information brochure before uploading.

Note: Upload a recent passport-size photograph with a plain white or light background and 80% of your face clearly visible. Do not upload edited, filtered, studio-retouched, or dark-background photographs — WBJEEB rejects manipulated images during scrutiny and this causes application defects that may not be correctable after the correction window closes.

WBJEE Application Fee 2026

The WBJEE 2026 application fee varied by category and gender. All fees were payable online only — no offline payment mode was accepted.

Payment was accepted via: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, and UPI. No offline payment (cash, cheque, or demand draft) was accepted.

The application fee was non-refundable — even if the form was rejected, the student did not appear for the exam, or the application was withdrawn voluntarily.

Note: The application fee is non-refundable under all circumstances — including form rejection, exam absence, and voluntary withdrawal. This policy will apply to WBJEE 2027 as well.

Note: If your payment fails during the application window, do not retry immediately — wait 48–72 hours for the auto-refund before making a fresh payment. Immediate retries have led to double deductions in previous WBJEE cycles. If the refund does not appear after 72 hours, contact your bank with the transaction reference number.

WBJEE Application Form Correction 2026

WBJEEB provided a three-day form correction facility from 10 April to 12 April 2026 — immediately after the registration window closed on 8 April. No fee was charged for corrections, except where a student changed their category from a reserved category to General (the fee difference was payable in such cases).

How to Use the Correction Window

1. Log in at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee using your Application Number and Password.
2. Click "Application Form Correction" from the student dashboard.
3. Edit the permitted fields — upload a revised photograph or signature if needed.
4. Review all changes carefully before confirming.
5. Submit and download the revised confirmation page as proof of correction.

Note: The WBJEE 2026 correction window closed permanently on 12 April 2026. No corrections were accepted after this date via email, post, or any other mode. For WBJEE 2027, verify all details in the form before the correction window closes — there is no appeal process once it shuts.
