Is WBJEE 2024 Result Out?

 WBJEE Results were declared on June 6, 2024 across their official website, wbjeeb.nic.in.

WBJEE Result 2024 has been declared today on June 6, 2024, around 3:00 PM on their official website wbjee.nic.in. The result link has been activated by the WBJEEB. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check and download their results by entering their login credentials on the official website . You need your application number and password to check and download your rank card.  All of the information present in the WBJEE 2024 rank card has to be checked carefully.If the candidates wish to submit their complaints about their allotted scores, then they can write an email within 24 hours of the declaration of the result.

Based on the papers two separate merit lists will be prepared, a General merit rank list (GMR) and a Pharmacy merit rank list (PMR). Nearly 1,13,492 students have appeared for exam on April 28.The board does not declare the minimum marks required to qualify WBJEE. The rank card only mentions the qualifying status of the candidate for the counselling.

Those who qualify the exam can participate in counselling. Based on previous year trends, a 120+ score is considered a good score for B.Tech admission to top colleges such as Jadavpur University.

To check your result you need your application number and password. To check your result you can follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Visit the official website at wbjeeb.nic.in
  • Look for the link “WBJEE 2024 Result” and click on it.
  • Login by entering your Application Number and Password and Security Pin.
  •  Result  and your scorecard will be displayed on the screen
  • Download the rank card and take a printout for future references.

Those obtaining more marks than the set cutoff will be called for the counseling process in order of ranks indicated in the merit list.

How many Students Appeared in The Exam?

We updated the statistics on total candidates after the declaration of result. As mentioned before, over 1 lakh students have appeared for WBJEE 2024. According to reports, the total number of registrations for WBJEE 2024 increased by 17,773 candidates.

In 2023, 1,24,919 students registered for WBJEE. This number has increased to 1,42,692 students in 2024.

  • Out of the total 1,42,692 registered students 1,13,492 appeared for exam and112,963 students passed the exam.
  •  34,467 were female and 79,025 were male.

WBJEE Merit List

Key Features of Merit List 

The board prepares two separate merit lists based on the papers (subjects) that appeared in WBJEE and the marks obtained thereof. The two lists are: General Merit Rank List (GMR) and Pharmacy Merit Rank List (PMR).

Criteria GMR PMR
Courses in which admission can be sought via Merit List Applicable for all Degree Level Engineering / Technology / Architecture Courses available in all enlisted Engineering / Technology Colleges and Universities within West Bengal. Preparation of List It is prepared based on candidate’s score in all subjects i.e. mathematics, physics, and chemistry in WBJEE. The list is prepared based on scores obtained in the combined paper of Physics and Chemistry in WBJEE.
Ranking Ranking will be done in descending order of total marks scored in all subjects. Ranking will be done in descending order of total marks scored in Physics and Chemistry.

What is the Tie-breaking Policy of WBJEE?

WBJEEB impliment the the tie-breaking process if two or more candidates secure the same marks in result. The authority will follow separate tie-breaking policies for GMR and PMR.

Tie-breaking Policy for GMR

  • Less negative marks in maths, physics, chemistry together
  • More positive marks in maths, physics together
  • More positive marks in maths, chemistry together
  • Less negative marks in maths, physics together
  • Less negative marks in maths, chemistry together
  • More positive marks in maths in the two-mark questions
  • Most positive marks in the two-mark questions in physics
  • More positive marks in the two-mark questions in chemistry
  • Less negative marks in the two-mark questions in maths
  • Less negative marks in the two-mark questions in physics
  • In case both the candidate's performance matches exactly through all the factors listed above, the older candidate will get the higher GMR rank.

What Should You DO After Result ?

As the result is announced, those who cleared the exam has been assigned ranks based on the paper they appeared for. Those who appeared for both Paper 1(Maths) and 2(Physics and Chemistry) is assigned a General Merit Rank List (GMR) and those who only appeared for Paper 2(Physics and Chemistry) is assigned a Pharmacy Merit Rank List (PMR).

What About the WBJEE Counselling 2024?

Your  rank card  mentions your qualifying status to appear in the counselling process. Based on your ranks, you can participate in counselling , that is conducted in two rounds followed by a mop-up round.The registration for  e-counselling will start from 10th July. Candidates can register till 16th July.

Documents Required for Counselling

  • 2023 rank card.
  • Provisional allotment letter.
  • Confirmation page of result
  • Admit card or certificate of 10th standard (or equivalent) examination for name and age verification.
  • 10th standard (or equivalent) mark sheet for English subject mark verification.
  • Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates).
  • Physically challenged certificate for PwD category candidates.
  • Income certificate (if applicable).
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable).
  • JEE Main 2023 result(if applicable).
  • ‘Yes Upgradation’ or ‘No Upgradation’ option form.

Do You Know What TFW is?

TFW stands for Tuition Fee Waiver. There is a set number of seats under the TFW in WBJEE 2024.

  • The Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) is a scheme implemented by the Govt of West Bengal for meritorious and economically backward students.
  • TFW  is only for domicile students of West Bengal whose annual family income is less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
  • This TFW scheme in  only applies to the allotted college's tuition fee. All other fees must be paid by the students.

As per the TFW, 5% seats are reserved for the said students in participating colleges. In 2023, there were 1274 TFW seats.

Ans: The scoring methodology adopted in WBJEE for the different categories of questions is tabulated below:
