In Case 2 or more candidates get the same score in AP EAMCET 2025, a tie-breaking policy for AP EAMCET will be followed to check the relative merit score during the rank generation and the counselling.

The Qualifying cutoff of AP EAMCET is the minimum marks required to be ranked, and the cutoff of admission will vary by category, course and different colleges.
- The General/OBC/EWS candidates should have a minimum of 40 marks out of 160 (25%) to be eligible.
- SC/ST candidates have no cutoff to ensure participatory representation.
- For colleges such as CSE in AU Kakinada or JNTU Kakinada, the OC closing ranks fall between 1,500 and 6,000, whereas top private colleges close between 6,000 to 12,000.
- SC/ST students with ranks up to 35,000–40,000 are likely to be allotted mid-tier CSE seats because of category reservation and liberal cutoffs.
- While the EWS candidates achieve the same cut-off marks (40), they are entitled to horizontal reservation, closing ranks at about 7,000–10,000.
