Is EAMCET and EAPCET same?

Yes, EAMCET and EAPCET are the same exams, but the name has been changed.

The exam was previously known as EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test). However after NEET was introduced for medical courses, the exam was renamed EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) in 2021 so that the name could be more representative of the courses it provides.

Difference Between EAMCET and EAPCET

Exam Name Full Form Years Conducted Courses Covered
EAMCET Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test Until 2020 Engineering, Agriculture, Medical
EAPCET Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test 2021 Onwards Engineering, Agriculture, Pharmacy
  • EAMCET to EAPCET Name Change: Adopted in 2021 for excluding medical courses.
  • Candidate Expansion: More than 2.5 lakh students wrote AP EAPCET 2024, a growth of 13% from previous years.
  • Exam Pattern Remains Same: The marking scheme, syllabus, and pattern remain unchanged, only the name changed.
