What is AP EAPCET 2026?
AP EAPCET is the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test — a state-level entrance exam conducted by APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education) for admission to professional undergraduate courses in Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy. The exam was previously called AP EAMCET (Engineering Agriculture Medical Common Entrance Test). Medical admissions (MBBS, BDS) were later moved exclusively under NEET, which led to the renaming of the exam to AP EAPCET.
The AP EAPCET 2026 exam was conducted in May 2026 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across two streams: the Engineering stream (MPC) for candidates with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, and the Agriculture & Pharmacy stream (BiPC) for those with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. More than 2.64 lakh candidates appeared for the 2026 exam. Around 274 colleges in Andhra Pradesh use this score for admissions to B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Sc Agriculture, B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture, and Pharm.D programmes — with over 1.7 lakh seats filled in the previous cycle.

For AP EAPCET 2027, the admit card is expected around April 2027 based on the year-on-year schedule pattern.
AP EAPCET 2026 Answer Key
APSCHE released the AP EAPCET 2026 preliminary answer key on May 23, 2026. Candidates had until May 25, 2026 to raise objections online against any question they believed was answered incorrectly. After reviewing all submitted objections, APSCHE incorporated valid corrections into the final answer key, which was then used to compute the July 1, 2026 result.
- Separate answer keys were released for each exam date and session (the Engineering exam ran across 5 days in 2 daily shifts)
- Candidates could challenge answers by paying a fee per question. The fee was refunded if the objection was accepted as valid
- The final answer key, which reflected all verified corrections, served as the basis for the result and normalised rank computation
- Objection fees were forfeited for challenges that were reviewed and found incorrect by the expert committee
AP EAPCET 2026 Marks vs Rank
Your AP EAPCET 2026 final rank is not based on your raw exam score alone. APSCHE uses a weighted formula that combines two components: 75% weightage to your AP EAPCET exam score (normalised, out of 160) and 25% weightage to your Intermediate (Class 12) marks in the relevant subjects. Two students who score exactly the same in the exam can end up with different final ranks if their Intermediate board marks differ.
How the AP EAPCET 2026 Rank Is Calculated
- Engineering stream: Intermediate marks considered are from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM)
- Agriculture stream: Intermediate marks from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB)
- Pharmacy stream: Intermediate marks from either PCM or PCB depending on the candidate’s stream
- The Intermediate marks are converted proportionally and added to the normalised EAPCET score to arrive at the final rank
- A student with 90 in EAPCET but 95% in Intermediate may rank higher than someone with 92 in EAPCET and 75% in boards
AP EAPCET 2026 Expected Marks vs Rank (Engineering Stream)
The table below provides expected rank ranges based on previous year trends. These figures assume average Intermediate marks of around 75–80%. Your actual rank in 2026 may vary based on the overall difficulty of the paper and total qualified candidates.
| AP EAPCET Score (out of 160) | Expected Rank (General Category) | What You Can Target |
|---|---|---|
| 150 – 160 | 1 – 100 | Any branch at any top government college |
| 141 – 149 | 101 – 500 | CSE in top government colleges (UCEK, AUCE) |
| 131 – 140 | 501 – 1,500 | CSE / ECE in top government colleges |
| 121 – 130 | 1,501 – 4,000 | ECE / EEE in government colleges; CSE in top private |
| 111 – 120 | 4,001 – 8,000 | Core branches in government; CSE in mid-tier private |
| 101 – 110 | 8,001 – 15,000 | Top private colleges, most branches |
| 91 – 100 | 15,001 – 25,000 | Good private colleges |
| 81 – 90 | 25,001 – 40,000 | Mid-tier private colleges |
| 71 – 80 | 40,001 – 60,000 | Lower-tier private and regional colleges |
| 61 – 70 | 60,001 – 90,000 | Regional colleges |
| 40 – 60 | 90,001 – 2,45,000 | Qualifying range — limited seat options |
Note: Ranks in the table are approximate. The actual 2026 rank depends on the normalised score (adjusted for session difficulty) and your Intermediate marks, which carry 25% weight. Higher Intermediate marks can move your rank up by 2,000–10,000 positions in the 80–120 score range.
AP EAPCET 2026 Cutoff
AP EAPCET 2026 cutoff has two meanings: the qualifying cutoff (minimum marks you must score to get a rank and be eligible for counselling) and the admission cutoff (the last rank at which a seat was allotted in a particular college and branch during counselling). APSCHE fixes the qualifying cutoff; the admission cutoff is determined after each counselling round based on available seats and candidate preferences.
AP EAPCET 2026 Qualifying Cutoff — Category Wise
| Category | Qualifying Marks | Marks Required (out of 160) |
|---|---|---|
| OC / General | 25% of total marks | 40 marks |
| EWS (Economically Weaker Section) | 25% of total marks | 40 marks |
| BC (Backward Classes — Groups A to E) | 25% of total marks | 40 marks |
| SC (Scheduled Caste) | No minimum marks required | Any score |
| ST (Scheduled Tribe) | No minimum marks required | Any score |

AP EAPCET 2026 Counselling Process — Step by Step
- Step 1 — Counselling Registration and Fee Payment: Log in to the official portal using your AP EAPCET rank card details. Pay the counselling registration fee (expected around ₹1,200 for OC/BC candidates and ₹600 for SC/ST candidates — subject to the official notification). Without this fee payment, you cannot proceed to certificate verification.
- Step 2 — Certificate Verification: APSCHE verifies most candidates’ documents automatically online through web services linked to Class 10 and 12 board databases and MeeSeva. If your data is verified online, you do not need to visit any Helpline Centre and can directly proceed to web options. Candidates whose data cannot be verified online (due to other state boards, name mismatches, or data gaps) must attend physical verification at a designated Helpline Centre in their district.
- Step 3 — Web Options (Choice Filling): Enter your college and branch preferences in order of priority. There is no cap on the number of choices — fill as many as possible. Colleges with better placement or closer to your home should rank higher. Once the window closes, choices cannot be edited. The choices you enter directly determine your allotment, so plan this step carefully.
- Step 4 — Seat Allotment: APSCHE processes all web options through a centralised computerised system. Allotment is based on your rank, category (OC/BC/SC/ST/EWS), local/non-local status, and the order in which you filled your web options. Phase 1 allotment results are published online.
- Step 5 — Self-Reporting: After seat allotment, confirm your seat online through self-reporting on the portal and pay the tuition fee as per the college’s fee structure. Then report physically to the allotted college within the deadline with original documents for final verification and admission.
- Step 6 — Further Rounds: If vacant seats remain after Phase 1, APSCHE may conduct Phase 2 and spot admission rounds. Candidates unsatisfied with their Phase 1 allotment can also participate in these rounds, subject to the rules of the respective round.

AP EAPCET 2026 Preparation Tips
Although the AP EAPCET 2026 exam is over, the following tips are useful for candidates preparing for AP EAPCET 2027 or any similar state-level Engineering and Pharmacy entrance exam.
Subject-Wise Strategy — Engineering Stream
- Mathematics (80 questions — 50% of the paper): This is the single most important subject in the Engineering stream. Focus on Coordinate Geometry (2D — circles, conics), Calculus (differentiation, integration, differential equations), Algebra (complex numbers, permutations), and Trigonometry. These five areas together account for more than 70% of the Mathematics questions in past AP EAPCET papers. Solve at least 40–50 Maths problems daily throughout your preparation phase.
- Physics (40 questions): Mechanics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, and Optics together account for more than 60% of Physics marks in AP EAPCET. Prioritise these four areas. For each topic, master the formulas and their direct applications — AP EAPCET Physics questions are more formula-based than conceptual.
- Chemistry (40 questions): Organic Chemistry (named reactions, reagents, products) and Physical Chemistry (equilibrium, electrochemistry, thermodynamics) are the highest-yield areas. Inorganic Chemistry (p-block and d-block element properties) needs systematic memorisation — start early with short notes and revise weekly.
Subject-Wise Strategy — Agriculture and Pharmacy Stream
- Botany and Zoology (80 questions — 50% of the paper): The Agriculture & Pharmacy stream had an 89.59% pass rate in 2026 — much higher than Engineering. Biology questions in AP EAPCET are fact-based and directly from BIEAP textbooks. Read each chapter of your Intermediate Biology textbooks line by line, focusing on definitions, diagrams (labelled), life cycles, and classification tables. Flashcards work very well for Biology retention.
- Physics and Chemistry: Same strategy as the Engineering stream applies here for these two subjects.
General Tips for AP EAPCET Preparation
- Strictly follow the AP Intermediate (BIEAP) textbooks — the exam does not go beyond this curriculum
- Solve at least 10 full previous year AP EAPCET question papers within the 3-hour time limit each
- Take 2–3 online CBT mock tests per week during the last 2 months — the exam is on computer, so practicing on screen helps with speed and navigation
- Since there is no negative marking, attempt all 160 questions in the exam. An educated guess on the remaining questions can add 5–10 marks, which can shift your rank by thousands
- Your Intermediate (Class 12) marks carry 25% weightage in the final rank — do not neglect board exam preparation, especially in the last 2 months before boards
- Create a formula sheet for Maths and Physics and review it every alternate day during the last month before the exam
- Target completing the entire syllabus at least 6 weeks before the exam to allow sufficient time for revision and mock tests

Ans. The official AP EAPCET 2026 counselling schedule has not been released as of July 2, 2026. Based on last year’s pattern, counselling registration is expected to open in the 1st–2nd week of July 2026. Last year, Engineering counselling registration started on July 7, 2025. Check eapcet-sche.aptonline.in and cets.apsche.ap.gov.in regularly for the official notification.
Ques. What are the qualifying marks for AP EAPCET 2026?
Ans. For General, BC, and EWS candidates, the AP EAPCET 2026 qualifying mark is 25% of total marks, which equals 40 out of 160. For SC and ST candidates, there is no minimum qualifying marks requirement — any score gives them a rank. Only candidates who meet the qualifying threshold (except SC/ST) are eligible for counselling and seat allotment.
Ques. How is AP EAPCET 2026 rank calculated?
Ans. The AP EAPCET final rank is based on a weighted formula: 75% of your AP EAPCET exam score (normalised out of 160) and 25% of your Intermediate (Class 12) marks in the relevant subjects — PCM for Engineering, PCB for Agriculture. Two students who score the same in EAPCET can get different final ranks depending on their board marks. Higher Intermediate marks can significantly improve your rank.
Ques. What is the AP EAPCET 2026 exam pattern?
Ans. AP EAPCET 2026 is a 3-hour online CBT exam with 160 MCQ questions for 160 marks. No negative marking. For Engineering (MPC): Mathematics — 80 questions, Physics — 40 questions, Chemistry — 40 questions. For Agriculture & Pharmacy (BiPC): Botany — 40 questions, Zoology — 40 questions, Physics — 40 questions, Chemistry — 40 questions. Each correct answer gives +1 mark.
Ques. What rank do I need to get CSE in a top AP EAPCET college?
Ans. To get CSE in top government colleges like UCEK JNTUK Kakinada or AUCE Visakhapatnam, you typically need a rank under 1,000. Based on 2025 data, UCEK JNTUK’s CSE closed at approximately rank 485 and GVPCE Visakhapatnam closed around rank 1,200. For top private colleges like VIT-AP and SRM-AP, a rank under 3,000 is usually sufficient for CSE. These cutoffs may vary slightly in 2026 based on the total number of candidates and seat intake.
Ques. What documents are needed for AP EAPCET 2026 counselling?
Ans. Documents required for AP EAPCET 2026 counselling include: AP EAPCET 2026 rank card, hall ticket, Class 10 and Class 12 marks memos, transfer certificate, study certificates (Class 6 to 12) for local area proof, caste certificate (BC/SC/ST), income certificate, Aadhaar card, and passport-size photographs. Keep originals and 2 sets of photocopies ready. Many candidates can complete verification online without visiting a helpline centre — check your status after registration.
Ques. Is AP EAPCET and AP EAMCET the same exam?
Ans. Yes — AP EAPCET is the new name for what was previously called AP EAMCET. The exam was renamed from EAMCET (Engineering Agriculture Medical Common Entrance Test) to EAPCET (Engineering Agriculture Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) after medical (MBBS/BDS) admissions were separated and placed exclusively under NEET. The conducting body (APSCHE), exam structure, and admission process remain the same.
