Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum allows you to take up additional courses, which can be related to any department. This diversifies our skill set, and the labs here are very good. We get hand-on-learning experience. We get frequent projects, so it does prepare us for real world problems. Overall, the exams do not bother us much. But during the exam season, sometimes we have 2 papers in 1 day.

Faculty

The faculty members are very knowledgeable, but lack teaching skills. They are at the top in their fields, but departing knowledge requires another skill set. We do have many Teaching Assistants, so the Faculty student ratio is good. I personally do not like any faculty member i have studied from till date. The exams are easy, and i haven't seen many people fail.

Many fest are conducted yearly like rendezvous, tryst, sportech, and general championships ensuring the overall development of the student. We have our own central library which has enormous number of books which you can use from 8 am to 3 am. We have well-equipped labs with the most modern technology available. All the sports facilities you could think of are available here and there is every club you could think of.

Faculty

Faculty here is the best in India and some departments rank under 50 in the whole world . most of the faculty here is very helpful and have very thorough knowledge of their subject while some of them do possess knowledge but lack the teaching skills which makes sometimes a little harder to learn from them but their are teaching assistants who can help you to get through your doubts

Placement Experience

Placements at the IITs are generally considered to be one of the best in the country, and the institutes have a consistent track record of producing graduates who are highly sought after by leading companies in various industries. The IITs have a dedicated placement cell that works towards connecting students with potential employers. The placement cell at the IITs typically invites top companies from various industries, such as technology, consulting, finance, manufacturing, and e-commerce, to recruit students for internships, full-time jobs, and other opportunities. The placement process usually begins in the pre-final year, where companies come to campus to conduct pre-placement talks and written tests. This is followed by a series of interviews, group discussions, and other selection rounds. The placement cell at the IITs provides training and support to students to prepare for the placement process.

Course Curriculum Overview

IITs are known for their world-class infrastructure and faculty members. I chose this course because it was the best possible course available to me on the basis of my jee advanced rank and also the electrical department of IIT Delhi is one of the best in the country. The faculty here are highly qualified and have done their studies at reputed institutions. Exams are conducted two times every semester and they are easy to pass

Course Curriculum Overview

I personally feel Electrical engineering is a really interesting branch. We get to explore various fields within electrical engineering itself. The minimum educational qualification and experience required to become a professor here are Ph.D. with 10 years of experience in teaching or research fields. Their way of teaching is very good, where in a few cases they go to a really high level, which becomes difficult for us to understand quickly. It is the same case with exams, sometimes the question papers are very tough and the averages go really low. However, the grading system is relative for most of the courses(where few courses are graded absolutely, which is up to the professor's choice). We are supposed to give 2 minor exams and a final major exam for each course per semester, at times they conduct quizzes which will be included in the evaluation component, this is again based on the professor's will.

Campus Life

Life at iitd is a whole new experience, we can do whatever we choose to do or whatever we are interested in, be it in academics or other cultural activities, our library has a good amount of required materials(textbooks, other reference books, journals, thesis papers etc) and the classrooms are designed in a way that every student is comfortable by placing 3 screens other than blackboards. Coming to clubs, there are many of them- cultural, sports, tech etc. Annual fest-rendezvous and tech fest-tryst are conducted yearly once most often in march month.

Cultural Festival is Rendezvous and the Technical fest is Tryst. Both are conducted in March. The library is very well stocked. All required books are available. If it's not available, we get Scientific journal subscriptions as students of IITD. Classrooms are air-conditioned and there are projectors in each classroom. All sports have Institute and hostel, level teams. Extracurriculars are available from Music to Drama and Dance. All clubs are very active and regularly send out teams to represent IIT Delhi in inter-college competitions. All extracurriculars have clubs that are run by students and supervised by professors. We also have NSS on campus, again run by students, and SPIC MACAY and Enactus.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good. First-year courses are common to all departments, and from the second year (3rd semester) we get specialized courses. I chose this course because I had an interest in Robotics and automation. The faculty-to-student ratio is nearly 1:50 but the professors are helpful and manage it very well. The faculty are all doctorates from international universities. Although the curriculum is old and has been the same for many years, the faculty has adopted newer methods to teach such as labs and PowerPoint presentations to teach. The exams are always on time. Examination dates are released at the start of the semester and never changed.

It's too happening I would say. I have too many diverse groups of friends, some study too much, some participate in too many club events, and there are some people who are doing a thing of their own I have a friend who wants to be a director and one an NFT artist. Infrastructure is something that I would not complain about but something that I am not too proud of. Exposure at IIT Delhi is damn good, maybe the best in the country.

Placement Experience

I would argue that placements at IIT Delhi are the best in the country with n number of opportunities. There are various fields in which one can apply for the placements ranging from consulting firms, trading firms, HFTs, core companies, and many more that would interest the most engineers in the country. Lastly, if you are in IIT, you are gonna get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for my first semester were a 1lakh tuition fee and 60,000- for hostel fees. There is ample scholarship for students here who come from underprivileged sections of society and they are regularly communicated to them through the mail. Since I don't avail of any of the benefits stated above I am not in a position to comment about them.

Placement Experience

The placement generally occurs in the seventh and eighth semesters. Generally, all the high-paying companies like Microsoft, Google, Optiver, and Goldman Sachs come to campus. The high-paying companies offer as much as 4 crore which was the highest package of 2022.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I was always interested and intrigued by the underlying functionality of electrical devices and appliances and the course structure would also allow me to explore other fields as well. The faculty-to-student ratio of the electrical department is decent around 4:1. Most of the faculty members are very highly qualified, with PhDs and Post Doctorates from top-ranked foreign universities. The teaching methods depend from one professor to another but overall from my experience the teaching is good enough. Since most exams are graded on a curve, some students may find the courses hard to pass but generally, the courses are very structured in a feasible manner and evaluations are spread out throughout the semester.

Campus Life

Life at IIT Delhi is always very happening. There is always something interesting happening on campus whether that be academic or extracurricular. Rendezvous, the cultural fest of IIT Delhi, is the largest fest in north India easily overshadowing other colleges. Tryst is the technical fest of IIT Delhi and it is also carried out on a large scale with footfall in lakhs. The library is well equipped with all kinds of educational books and journals up for issues. Debating Society, Quizzing Club, Dance Club, Literary Club, etc are some of the well-known clubs and societies of IIT Delhi which keep the students engaged in various activities throughout the year.

There are a lot of scholarships for students whose family income is below a certain limit. Such students get support from the institute and the alumni. For summer projects if you get selected for projects like SURA then you also get a stipend for 2 months.

All the professors here have studied at top universities and have immense experience. I am doing electrical engineering here because that's what my rank offered me at IIT Delhi. My target was to get into the top 3 IITs and IIT Delhi, the electric branch was the optimum option for me. The faculty: students ratio is almost 1:25 which allows every department student that professors focus on them. The exams here are very timely and semester wise and they are based on the contents taught during class hours. If a student studies what is taught in lectures regularly it is easy to pass the mid sem and end-sem exams.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is very good and the campus has many areas which can be used by a student. There is SAC for any kind of indoor activities. There is LHC for daily lectures. There is a big library with over 20000 books which students can use any time during the day or night. Being situated in a city like Delhi students go to clubs and malls on weekends and party like nowhere. There are many cultural clubs like photography, music, dance, drama, literature, etc. All sports activities are also available.

I had chosen Electrical Engineering because I had a deep interest in gazzetes and also i want to something for the country so I had chosen this branch and college. Faculty to student ratio is very godd in IIT Delhi roughly around 15:1. All the faculties are world level qualified either they are graduated from one of the finest colleges of the world or they are very deeply talented. And as an student in this college I would say that the exams are not easy at all. It is very difficult to survive here in this utmost competitive environment.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike policy in Indian Institute of Technology has been disastrous for the students who come from low-income families as usually the costs of events hosted by the institute like general championships, sports meets and cultural meets often derive a part of their funds from students as their mess fees. Several scholarships are available for academically profound students from corporates.

Campus Life

Every month during the beginning of even semesters usually in winters of January and February, several fests are conducted at the Indian Institute of Technology Hauz Khaz New Delhi, which include Rendezvous, Tryst, Literati, Speranza, Becon, Vibhinn. books are readily available in the library. classrooms are equipped with amenities.

Ques. Which has better placements, IIT (BHU) Electrical or IIT (BHU) Electronics??

● Top Answer By Vinima Bhola on 23 Jun 25

Ans. Electrical Engineering at IIT (BHU) has a well-documented and strong placement record, with high placement rates (81–86%) and top packages reaching up to ?1.68 crore per annum (in B.Tech overall, with Electrical also benefitting from high offers). The Max CTC for Electronics Engineering is ?50 LPA for 2024–2025, which is less than the highest mentioned for Electrical. However, placement details for Electronics Engineering are less commonly recorded. This might, however, represent a single offer or a particular position rather than the branch's highest or average overall. Both branches are highly sought after and have strong industry connections, but Electrical Engineering currently has more publicly available and impressive placement statistics.Read more

Ques. Which should be preffered IIT bhu electrical or BITS pilani EEE?

● Top Answer By Prena Kukreti on 31 Jul 24

Ans. IIT BHU and BITS Pilani are two highly reputed institutions for engineering studies in India. IIT BHU would be a better option over BITS Pilani because of these reasons: Brand Value: IIT BHU carries the prestigious “IIT'' tag. Thus, it has a greater brand value than BITS Pilani. This becomes important when applying to foreign universities for your higher studies.  Fees: As a government institution, the fees of IIT BHU is much more affordable as compared to BITS Pilani. Ques. Which is better, CSE at ISM or Electrical at IIT Bhu?

● Top Answer By Divya on 31 Jul 24

Ans. I am a student of Electrical Engineering at IIT BHU. Even though CSE is the most popular branch in today’s job market, I would recommend you go with the second option. Here are the reasons that make IIT BHU a better choice than IIT(ISM) Dhanbad: IIT BHU was established in 1919, while IIT Dhanbad was established in 1926. This gives IIT BHU an edge in terms of experience and legacy.  IIT BHU offers a wider range of engineering disciplines. Even IIT Dhanbad does so, but it is mainly known for its contribution in the field of mining and earth sciences. IIT BHU ranks comparatively better in various national rankings. IIT BHU has a large and diverse alumni base across various industries. Here are some reputed alumni from our institute- Sh. Ram Charan ((B.Tech. Mechanical, 1959)- A renowned business consultant, author and speaker. Sh. Jay Chaudhry ((B.Tech. Electrical, 1980)- CEO and Founder, ZScaler, USA). Dr. Indu Bhushan (B.Tech. Ques. Which is better IIT Indore mechanical or Bhubaneswar ECE?

● Top Answer By Ravish kumar on 23 Jul 24

Ans. IIT Indore and IIT Bhubaneswar were both established almost at the same time, and both hold an equally good reputation. However, the ECE branch offers better opportunities as compared to the Mechanical branch.  Here is a comparison between IIT Indore Mechanical and IIT Bhubaneswar ECE: INSTITUTE IIT BHUBANESWAR (ECE) IIT INDORE (MECHANICAL) Establishment Year 2008 2009 Placement % (2023) 91% 88.33% Highest Package (2023) INR 44.7 LPA INR 45 LPA Average Package (2023) INR 22.9 LPA INR 22.17 LPA Median Package (2023) INR 18 LPA INR 18.12 LPA The faculty at both these institutions are equally outstanding. However, Electronics courses fall in the middle of core and software. This is why Electronics students get jobs quite easily in the software domain as well.  This makes the job prospects of ECE students better than their Mechanical counterparts. Thus, I would recommend you choose ECE at IIT Bhubaneswar over Mechanical at IIT Indore. Read more

Ques. How do you compare ECE in NITK and IIT Bhubaneswar?

● Top Answer By Danish Malik on 23 Jul 24

Ans. NIT Surathkal was established in 1960, and its ECE program started in 1979. IIT Bhubaneswar was established in 2008, and its ECE branch started in 2016. Even though IIT Bhubaneswar is very new compared to NIT Surathkal, it in no way lags behind in terms of clubs, societies, academics and placements for its ECE students.  Here is a comparison between these institutions for your reference: INSTITUTE NIT Surathkal  B.Tech ECE IIT Bhubaneswar B.Tech ECE Placement % 93% 90.91% Highest CTC INR 54.75 LPA  INR 44.62 LPA Average CTC INR 18.26 LPA INR 22.85 LPA Lowest CTC INR 4.50 LPA INR 9.65 LPA Clubs and Societies Systems & Security group, Intelligence Group Web and Design Society, Nakshatra Fests Incident Alma Fiesta Fee-Structure B.Tech ECE (Total)  INR 5.74 Lakh INR 10.40 Lakh Some of the features of IIT Bhubaneswar which makes it more compatible as compared to NIT Surathkal are as follows: Students & Faculty: Students who join this college are some of the elite students in the country. Since ECE branch isn't available in all of the IITs, this is the best option for the ECE enthusiasts. The faculty of the ECE department is top notch.  Placements: The placement of students in this branch is really good. The average placement of this branch is around 23 LPA. Workload: ECE branch has the most hectic schedule among all other branches. The third semester is the most hectic. But if you choose this branch out of your own interest, you’ll get past all the difficulties. Reputation: This college is one of the highly reputed colleges in the country. Graduates of IIT Bhubaneswar are currently working for successful companies around the globe.  College Life: The campus life is vibrant. Tech and Cultural Fests are held annually. Celebs like Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Shreya Ghoshal have performed in the cultural fest of our college in the past, along with some popular bands and DJs.  The Average and Lowest Package for IIT Bhubaneswar’s B.Tech ECE are much better than NITK. Added to better placements is the fact that IIT Bhubaneswar carries the prestigious ‘IIT’ tag and modern infrastructure.  Based on all these reasons, I would suggest you opt for B.Tech ECE at IIT Bhubaneswar. Read more
