There is annual fest for entire college near September. All the societies, individual students participate in it. Also guest singer give performance. Various stalls are created for exhibition, sale etc by students. Societies (arts, dance, etc) also have their separate fests. Branches hold their separate fest in which students from other branch may or may not be invited. Students also visit other colleges for intercollege competition etc. Whole expense is accommodated by college. Table tennis, football, carrom, ncc etc are well organised in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

B.Sc(H) electronics is an educational ug course. In which we used to study electric current, communication, vlsi, network analysis, semiconductor and other electronic branches of physics as core along with maths, evs, eng, Java, c programming as additional subjects. There is a need of setup for better practical and skill based study which should be career oriented. Exams are after every 6 months with moderate difficulty level. Internal assessment are conducted. There are 5 marks for attendance as well.

Course Curriculum Overview

I passed HS in 2020. I want to do engeneering. But due to COVID I can't give entrance exam. And I don't want to lose year for next year entrance exam. So I decide to complete BSc and MSc Electronics and then MTech. Then I found Midnapore College offering BSc Electronics course. And that's how I take addmission. Syllabus is similar to NET and GATE exams (ECE). In my opinion the syllabus need to change to make students industry ready. In each semester one final exam and two internal exam are taken. The difficulty level of exam is normal not too hard.

Faculty

In my batch, there are 5 students. In my department, there are 3 parmanent teacher, and 2 guest faculty. Teachers are very helpful and friendly. The Course Curriculum is similar to NET and GATE ECE syllabus. So there are very good opportunities for higher studies. Semester exams are normal. But to appear in the semester exam one must have 75% attendance otherwise no chance to appear. The pass percentage is almost 100%.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees was around ?10-11,000, it included library fees, college maintenance fees, development fees, etc. The college also provides scholarships or financial aids for students on the basis of merit. The department professors also hold scholarships for merit students.

Placement Experience

The placements were not as great but the placement cell was working hard enough to get good placements for everyone. Placements average at about 4LPA. The vetting and everything was seamless and placement cell members were really helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

I opted for "batchelor of Science" in the field of "Electronics" because of the curriculum which deals in a broad spectrum of electronics industry. There are multiple options for you to choose the specialization. Whether it is semiconductor fabrication, components designing, fabrication architecture or research field. You have a lot of options to choose from with an advantage of choosing web development in the masters course. Here, the curriculum is very industry friendly and makes you industry ready with a lot of real life applications of what you've learnt so far. The only improvement i would suggest for the curriculum to add a little of more coding session and shortening the lengths of the lectures a bit, or give a 5 minutes break after 45-50 minutes so that a student can grasp and take in the knowledge. The frequency of exams according to me is decent. The exams are conducted every semester(6 months) and the difficulty level is medium. You can pass by studying important topics.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the particular course I enrolled in was nominal. The fees were collected on a yearly basis and the fees for the first two years were around 13k but increased in the final year to 15k which is a 2 thousand rupees increase in two years, which is nominal in my opinion considering other private colleges and some other courses in my college itself. The complete education cost of a bachelor degree in electronics is around 55k for 3 years degree and around 70k for a 4 year degree in my college. There is some scholarship which is provided by the university and some provided by the college and the department itself. The scholarship for doing top in the department is around 5k and a scholarship provided by the department to the financially week students is around 15k. Some other scholarship provided by the university covers most of the education fees.

The annual cultural fest of Hansraj College is the confluence which is celebrated at the start of April. There are always some events workshops, seminars and fest in north campus colleges. The only thing you need is your Id Card Almost every book of academics is available in the library of college. The important newspapers, magazines, and journals are also available there. Almost every facilities are available there only lacks is will of management. Enough sport and extra curricular activities are conducted in the college. There is annual sport event of Hansraj College in which inter departmental matches of different games are played. Even one department can have more than one team for a particular sport. There are many social groups and clubs. Some of them are NISHTHA(civil society), HARITIMA(environmental society), PRASTAV(debating society), SWARANJALI(music society),KAVYANJALI(poetry society) ,NCC, NSS and many more. The mentioned ones are most active societies of the college

Course Curriculum Overview

I have a great interest in studying physics and doing research in this field. Since I could not go for B.Tech. so this is best for now. The curriculum prepares well for other higher studies and entrance exams. But it somehow lacks in practical learning. The labs priods are reduced from 4 to 2 hours which burdens us to doing all practicals mentioned in time but in every semester some of them is not done. Also some equipments are not there. These are the things which can improved. The teaching and learning methods could be shifted to new advanced methods. The are semester exams along with mid semester exams. The difficulty level varies from medium to hard.

The library has books available for all courses and with multiple copies. Some Classrooms have projectors and some dont with some also having smartboards. There are various clubs and societies to join and everyone can find something they enjoy and can find like-minded people.

And another is end semester exam. Mid semester exam starts from the 2months after the start of course while end semester is at the ending of the semester

Placement Experience

From third semester the students are eligible for placement. But here the fifth and sixth semester students have given priority. Because this is his/her last year in the college. Avarage 30% of the students get placements in college. My plan is to join MCA after this

Faculty members are highly qualified and they tend to be more practical in their approach, for example in B.Sc Electronics (H), they teach the theory subjects using smartboards with enhances our overall learning ability and also the laboratories are well equiped with all the necessary apparatus, and the professors make it easy for the student to adapt to the lab environment and learn all the necessary experiments successfully. In other courses as well, the presentation, labs and EC rooms are full of skill oriented learning. Teacher to student ratio is good in most of the courses (except Bcom (H) which has 3 sections of its own), around 1:40, and their are multiple professors of the same course, different topics.

Campus Life

Campus life is good, MAC's annual fest yuvaan brings in some good memories and games which is good for one's campus life but it isn't that huge, the fests are alright and the departmental fests too are okay in terms of their execution. Societies are quite active and they work for the college and they bring in fun to the campus as a whole and the frequent seminars our college provide with IAS, IPS officers, renowned politicians (Arvind Kejriwal), news channels such as NDTV, celebrities, photographers, journalists, doctors, etc from almost every fields to enhance a student's spectra of interest and knowledge.

The faculty members are very nice. They are well qualified. As I talk about my college that is Shankaracharya college of Applied Science. In my department only 12 professors have PhD degrees,7 lab staff, and 5 support staff are there. Approx there are more than 60 professors with PhD degrees in the whole college. If I talk about their teaching methods so, their teaching methods are very good they explain every thing with examples and also during practical class, they explain very well. Also for every 5-6 students one professor is assigned that be there mentor and the mentor listens to us very carefully and clears all our doubts. Overall the faculty is very good

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is 1st year- 26000(it includes security deposit of 10000+ tution fees) 2nd year- 12000 3rd year - 6000-7000 Examination fees for each semester - 200 per subject+ practical charges also. I have told this fees for science course. Fees can varry . Also University provide scholarship, and one who are economicaly weaker (whose family income in less than or equal to 400000). Also college provide internship opportunity for which students also get stippen
