The Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University allocates seats to eligible candidates in the BArch degree program through the NATA and JEE scorecard in Chhattisgarh. The selection to Chhattisgarh BArch Admission is based on merit obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam and National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) exam. Admissions are based on the marks scored in the qualifying exams: National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and JEE Main Paper-II. 

BArch consists of various aspects of different streams of humanities, engineering, aesthetics, etc. It is exclusive to the activity of designing models of the building, preparing construction blueprints, and other physical structures of any land and building. The BArch syllabus consists of various theory subjects, studio, project work, practical training, and research training.  

The JEE Main Paper II is conducted by NATA in two sessions to offer BArch Admission 2024. JEE Main Paper 2 (Session-I) will be conducted from January 24 - February 01, 2024, and the results will be released on February 2024. JEE Main Session II will be conducted from April 06 - 13, 2024, while the NATA exam is conducted by the COA thrice every year. NATA will be conducted from April to July 2024 to offer CG BArch Admission 2024 in top architecture colleges of India.

Chhattisgarh BArch Admissions 2024: Eligibility Criteria

The candidates can fill in the form only if they fulfill the eligibility criteria. Candidates are advised to go through the below eligibility details before proceeding ahead to fill the application form.

  • The candidate must have passed class 10+2 level examination OR qualified 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics OR any equivalent level degree/examination from a recognized Institute or Board.

Chhattisgarh BArch Admission Process 2024

The following information throws light on the Chhattisgarh BArch admission procedure and guidelines-

  1. The application form for Chhattisgarh BArch Admission is available only in the online mode.
  2. The candidates who wish to apply for admission must fill the Chhattisgarh BArch application form before the deadline and upload all the required documents.
  3. After verification of documents, the admission committee releases the merit list with names of shortlisted candidates based on the score obtained in the qualifying exam and NATA.
  4. The candidates shortlisted will be eligible for the counseling process.
  5. Seats and admission will be allotted after the counseling process.
  6. The candidates must sign the application form and submit the filled application form along with an attested copy of all the documents at the time of admission.
  7. Admission will be finalized once the admission fee is paid.

Chhattisgarh BArch Admission 2024: Merit List

After verification of documents, a merit list or result is prepared based on the score obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam and NATA/JEE exam by the admission committee.

  •  It consists of the name of all the qualifying and shortlisted candidates. The Chhattisgarh BArch Admission Merit List is uploaded on the official website after the application process is over. The merit marks of the candidates are calculated based on the following factors:
  • 50% weightage is provided to the score obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam. 50% weightage is provided to the score obtained by the candidates in the NATA/JEE exam.
  • Three merit lists are prepared and published by the admission committee for Delhi BArch Admission. The candidates who have their names on the merit list are eligible for the counseling process.

Chhattisgarh BArch Admission 2024:Counseling Process

  • Visit the official website.
  • Click on new registration and fill in details like date of birth, the application number, roll number, and hit submit.
  • Click on ‘registration confirmation’ to complete the registration process. Candidates will receive the user ID and password.
  • Using the user ID and password, candidates will have to open the link to apply, where candidates will have to choose their desired colleges.
  • Once the seat allotment list is released, click on the seat allotment result
  • Enter your roll number and password and check for allotted seats.
  • Download the provisional seat allotment letter and report at the institute.
  • Remit the tuition fees
  • Upload all the documents and certificates for verification

Chhattisgarh BArch Admissions 2024: Seat Reservation

The seats for Chhattisgarh BArch are reserved in the Horizontal and Vertical category.

The Vertical Reservation is for the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) category candidates.

Ques. What should be the size of the photograph and signature?

Ans. The photograph and the signature which has to be uploaded should be less than 1 MB. Files above 1 MB cannot be uploaded.

Ques. What if original documents are not provided during counseling?

Ans. The candidature of the applicant will be canceled if the candidate fails to produce the documents required for counseling. So, it is advised to carry all the required documents during counseling.

Ques. Is there any reservation for women candidates?

Ans. Yes, there is a separate reservation for women candidates. 30% seats of the institutes are reserved for the women in each category SC/ST/OBC/UR.

Ques. Is the offline mode of application available?

Ans. The application form for BArch is available only in the online mode of the official website of the conducting institution. The offline mode of the application form is not available.

Ques. What if the application fee is not paid?

Ans. The final submission of the application form cannot be done if the application fee is not paid.

Ques. Which is better for studying architecture in India: SPA Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, or IIT Roorkee?

Ans. It is better to choose a college with an IIT tag because it will give you security regarding placements. IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee both have a good placement record, and their IIT tag makes them a better choice for Architecture students. The NIRF 2023 Ranking in Architecture of IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur is 1st and 3rd respectively, whereas the ranking of SPA Delhi is 5th.  IITs offer a lot of facilities which aren’t offered by other top architecture colleges in India. They have extensive libraries, best sports facilities, clubs and societies, etc. If you like extracurriculars as much as studies, IIT Roorkee and IIT KGP will provide you with world-class facilities for the same.  Apart from design and architecture, you’ll be able to study a host of other subjects and varied electives at IIT R and IIT KGP. This will place you in a much better position academically.  Many new professors have joined the Architecture department at IIT Roorkee in the past few years. They are young and have a modern perspective which resonates with today’s youth. IIT Roorkee has the best and the biggest hostels compared to any other college, and everyone can avail a single room for the entire course duration. Ques. Which college should I choose for a B.Arch. under the NIT/SPA?

Ans. Firstly a hearty congratulations to you for scoring a good rank in JEE Main. However, it is quite difficult to get a seat at SPA Delhi in this rank. The 2nd best option can be SPA Bhopal. Moreover, SPA Vijayawada is relatively newer and cannot be trusted. I have friends studying at both Bhopal and Vijayawada, from what I've heard, Bhopal is a better option. SPAs are purely design institutes and thus the exposure would be greater.  Since your chances at SPA D are quite on edge, you can instead look for the following colleges in order of preference:  NIT Nagpur> NIT Bhopal> SPA Bhopal> NIT Jaipur> SPA Vijayawada and so on. If you want to go for NITs, choose the one with better infrastructure, weather, and a diverse crowd. Ans. There are two aspects to the question. You asked. Is the bachelor of architecture course at IIT Kharagpur good? To answer this part, I will say with certainty that IIT Kharagpur is an excellent institute. However, as far as architecture is concerned, your first choice should always be the elite schools of architecture like SPA or CEPT. This is mainly because IITs are known for their technology and not architecture. Should a person who's only interested in physics and math, go for architecture or not? If you are genuinely interested in physics and math, then this will be one of your strengths and will prove to be useful in the journey of architecture. Architecture requires problem-solving skills apart from artistic skills. There are many students who are average in drawing but have excellent ideas and designs. To broaden your knowledge about art and architecture you can read books.Read more

Ans.  you can pursue Bachelor in Architecture even after completing a diploma in Civil Engineering. The scope for Architecture is increasing day by day in India. The Bachelor in Architecture course is related to the design of bridges, multipurpose buildings, industrial areas, residential area etc. Owing to many ongoing dam and bridge projects in India, there is a huge demand for Architecture students. Since you have completed a Diploma in Civil Engineering, B.Tech in Architecture is the most logical option for you. The candidate who has completed a diploma in civil engineering is eligible for the architecture engineering course through the lateral entry scheme offered by the Engineering colleges in India. Under this scheme, you are eligible for admission for the second year in the Engineering course provided that you have either completed  Diploma In Engineering  B.Sc course For you it’s the former case, and thus you can avail the lateral entry scheme and get admission in Architecture. Ans. MANIT Bhopal is a good college for Architecture. But a college completely devoted to Architecture and Planning is a better choice. At such colleges, one has access to a strong alumni base. Apart from that, we get the right outlook for the field and a central library full of new architecture books. These colleges have digital labs with new architecture software. The crowd over there is completely devoted to the field of Architecture. These colleges organize dedicated seminars and guest lectures on Architecture and Planning. It is a huge boost to one’s self-esteem as an Architect in making. At NITs/state engineering colleges, our engineering friends receive placement one year ahead. But, one has an almost negligible chance of campus placement. SPA/CEPT won’t offer placements either, but this won’t be as demoralizing. Their strong alumni network allows us the chance to work in a firm through a senior’s recommendation. Thus, I would recommend you opt for SPA, CEPT, or other Architecture colleges for your B.Arch.Read more

Ans. You should opt for architecture only if your interest lies in this field. It shouldn’t be a backup option for you. This is because the field involves Arts, Science, Maths, and Humanities, all together. You’ll do well in this field only if you like architecture. As far as MNIT Jaipur is concerned, it isn’t the best place for architectural studies. They’ll offer you limited practical exposure, and the curriculum hasn’t been updated for long. The infrastructure of this department is pretty average, they don’t organize any educational trips, and only a few faculty members are good. I wouldn’t recommend MNIT for your B.Arch. Instead, try to look for some better alternatives.Read more

Ans. The best college for pursuing a B.Arch degree is SPA Delhi. But if you aren’t selected in SPA Delhi, you should go for private universities.
