DMS, IIT Dhanbad Course Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Ans. A certain number of candidates are called for the Interview. Call letters are sent to the shortlisted candidates through email. This list will also be available on the department webpage. Offline interviews are likely to be held at Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata & Dhanbad. Candidates will give their preference for location, but the venue of interview may be different from the top preference of the applicant.

Ans. Yes, IIT Dhanbad has an upper age limit for Ph.D admission. For General EWS candidates, the upper age limit is 30 years. For the SC/ST/Female category, the upper age limit is 35 years of age.

Ans. IIT (ISM) Dhanbad only considers Valid CAT score for admission to Indian Nationals. For Foreign Nationals, Interested candidates can apply with valid GMAT score equivalent to the declared CAT cut off i.e. 80 percentile.

Ans. ISM Dhanbad administers various parameters for the final selection to the MBA programme such as CAT score, Past Academic Records, Online Interview, Industrial Experience etc. Candidates who excels in these parameters are offered admission seats.

Ans. Yes, ISM Dhanbad offers assistantship to its full time PhD students every month. The amount of assistantship offered in the first 2 years of PhD programme is INR 31,000, while INR 35,000 is offered for the next 3 years.

Ans: Before physically reporting at the Institute, the Candidates may withdraw their provisional admission by sending a request through their registered email ID to AR (Admissions) at aradm@iitism.ac.in . After the physical reporting of the candidates at the Institute, the withdrawal request needs to be made to the Office of Dean (Academic) through the respective HoD.

a) If a candidate withdraws within five days after the last date of admission for the round in which he/she has been provisionally admitted, after acceptance of admission offer by the candidate by paying the required fee amount, the entire fee collected from the candidate will be refunded after a deduction of processing fee of INR 5000 (For example: If fee payment duration is May 20 to 24, 2026 and a candidate applies for withdrawal on or before May 29, 2026, after accepting the offer/paying the fee, then he/she will be refunded entire amount after deduction of processing fee of INR 5000).

b) If a candidate withdraws the offer of admission after five days from the last date of admission for the round in which she/he was provisionally admitted, after acceptantance of admission offer by the candidate by paying the required fee amount, she/he will be refunded only the caution money and advance hostel mess fee. (For example: If payment duration is May 20 to 24, 2026 and a candidate apply for withdrawal after May 29, 2026 then she/he will be refunded the advance hostel mess fee + caution money only).

Ans: Here is the main documents required for physical reporting and completing MBA admission at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad :

• Original CAT 2025 Score Card and Admit Card.
• All original academic certificates and mark sheets (Class X, Class XII, Graduation degree/marksheets, etc.).
• Date of birth proof (usually Class X certificate).
