Life at nift kannur

Likes

The faculties are good. Some of them are really nice to us
Infrastructure is also good. They have all the facilities and all

Campus life could be better. Sometimes it is really boring

I have always likr creative stuff thats why i chose this course. The curriculum is well designed to help us prepare for the industry. You will have jury by the end of the sem and 2 assignment in between the semester

Student Experience at NIFT

Likes

The people are fun to be around and from different areas
The environment is calm and the infrastructure is big
The exams are conducted as juries , so it’s practical

Dislikes

The teaching methods aren’t great, expectations weren’t met
The food is not great. It’s mostly the same menu every day
The facilities can be improved for the overall benefit

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in the final semester,.i.e, semester 8. Different companies dealing with various streams visit colleges, providing a number of offers. For example, Reliance, Titan, Samsung and other smaller companies depending on the vacancies. The average package would be 3,00,000 - 6,00,000 and the highest would be 17,00,000- 18,00,000. Almsot 30% - 50% students get placed and get an average package. I plan to pursue my masters after the degree.

Nift kannur review

Likes

Diversity in college as students come from different parts of the country.
Regular industry visit/field visit for better exposure and experience gain.
Ample of cultural events and activities that maintain the youth of college.

Dislikes

There is no such thing I've seen so far.

Placement Experience:

Nift is providing good placements; in the past, they have also provided good placements. At NIFT kannur we will get placements, but not for every student and we will get a chance to work with designers. In nift kannur you can explore the companies and the job offers they are making.

Great Experience at NIFT

Likes

The college and campus is pretty peaceful. And you can know everyone in the college
The college especially the kannur campus organises various activities every week to keep the fun going on.

Dislikes

There is less departemnts in the college. The facilities are nice. Also they can inprove the canteen food.

The placements are avialable for 4rth year students. It starts around 8th sem middle and a lot of companies come for placements. Well the ratio of getting placed is less. But the college adds us to official whatsapp groups after graduation and keeps seniding job opportunities forever.

NIFT KANNUR - the irreplaceable chapter in my life

Likes

The faculties are really industry experienced
The college provides students freedom of expression
All are treated equally and no discrimination is made

Dislikes

The course fees is too much and not affordable
Even if we are sick or in any bad situation that we cannot attend the classes, our attendance is still marked absent and we are forced to do rejury and pay fees . Even in worst situations they wont consider our situations.
The fact that the college is placed in the middle of nowhere like there is not much anything nearby

From 8 th semester we can go for placements.for placements we are supposed to go to campus in delhi and bangalore. There are less chances of getting placements .The highest package will be more than 2 lakhs

Whole about NIFT

Likes

They provide the best fashion related courses and the best labs
The proper equipment’s and top end mechanical support they give
Out of all they provide every Wednesday DJ to flesh out our stress

Dislikes

We didn’t like the one thing that boys there is no hostel
And the car and bike parking for the students are not there inside the campus it’s outside
They don’t provide the materials to do our work

Placement Experience:

From the 8th sem students will be qualified to get the placements campus will provide but better we find our own . Lot of the fashion related companies will come and the minimum cgpa to attent the panel is 8.4 . Only 50 %Syed ente will get placement . most of the students are doing their own business . But if you apply your own ther is a huge chance to get it fast

My gen z college life

Likes

I like the vast curriculum here because if this we get to study not only design and fashion but it also includes modelling, gardening, dance zumba, shoots and many more.
These college will bring out the most out of u in terms of social interactions because u have to interact with a lot of people on a daily basis especially with seniors because these seniors will ultimately help u get internship.
The campus is really nice and quite big. The building is not that old but the problem is we don't have AC over here

Dislikes

I don't like the students over here because of tge superiority complex.
There is a language barrier as most of the students here are either malyali or marathi. The mallu people rarely speak English so it's difficult to have a conversation with them.
Faculties sometimes can take revenge saying that they can ruin ur career and all.

Placement Experience:

They do provide in campus and off campus placements. I have seen people placed in big big companies like raymond and Westside and all. But mostly people don't sit for placements they start there own business or firm or they take a job in one of these companies or work under some famous designer.

LIFE AT NIFT KANNUR

Likes

College infrastructure the ambiance and the locality
The faculties are very expert and they have very industry experience and connections

Dislikes

The hostel food quality should improve and facilities too

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are for students who are in semester 8 which means the fourth year the top recruiting companies are arvind lifestyle brands limited bata India limited h&m Manyavar etc the highest package offered was 6 to 7 lakhs per annum and the lowest paid was 2 lakhs per annum average package was 3 to 4 lakhs per annum job profiles offered are merchandiser production manager ie executive etc 99 percent of students got placements after completing my degree may I opt for masters or may search for a good company
