The placement scenario at NIFT has shown mixed results in recent years. The overall placement rate has seen a decline, with the 2019 batch recording a drastic drop to 37%. However, there are still significant opportunities as many students secure jobs through off-campus drives. In the 2022-23 cycle, the highest on-campus package was 19 LPA, while off-campus offers reached up to 22 LPA, with an average package of 7 LPA.
The institution mandates internships as part of its curriculum, with a near 100% internship placement rate in prominent companies like Shahi Exports and FLF Bangalore. Students often receive pre-placement offers (PPOs) during their internships. Well-known brands such as Amazon, Flipkart, Google, and Aditya Birla frequently participate in recruitment, with roles in design, graphics, and more. The highest package reported to date is 12 LPA, while the average package ranges from 3 to 5 LPA.
Despite challenges, NIFT provides substantial industrial exposure and opportunities for students to develop their portfolios, which are crucial for securing placements.
