DME BA LLB FAQs
Ques. Is DME a good college for BA LLB in Delhi NCR? What makes it stand out from other IPU law colleges?
Ans. DME is considered one of the better private law colleges under GGSIPU, particularly for students who want a strong academic environment combined with practical legal exposure. What sets it apart is its Judicial Training Academy (JTA) run by a former High Court Judge, which specifically prepares students for judiciary exams. Multiple alumni have cleared UP Judicial Services. The college also has six dedicated research centres, regular moot court competitions, and access to premium legal databases like Manupatra and SCC Online. However, for pure placement-focused outcomes, VIPS (Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies) is generally considered stronger in the IPU ecosystem.
Ques. What is the actual fee I will pay at DME for BA LLB? Are there any hidden charges?
Ans. The annual fee for BA LLB at DME is approximately Rs. 1,50,570 to Rs. 1,51,800 (including tuition, university charges, exam fee, and other charges). Over 5 years, the total comes to approximately Rs. 7,50,800. Hostel is optional and charged separately. There is no separate college admission form fee; you only pay the GGSIPU registration fee of Rs. 2,500. Candidates should verify the exact fee from the official GGSIPU fee notification before admission, as fees may be revised annually.
Ques. Can I get admission to DME BA LLB without CLAT? Is CUET accepted?
Ans. Yes, CUET Law 2026 scores are accepted at DME for BA LLB, but only for seats that remain vacant after the CLAT-based merit list is exhausted. CLAT UG is the primary and preferred route. If you have a strong CLAT rank, your chances of getting DME are significantly better. CUET-based admissions are typically conducted in a later round of counselling.
Ques. How does the GGSIPU counselling work for DME BA LLB? Do I need to visit the college?
Ans. GGSIPU conducts centralized online counselling in multiple rounds (Round 1, 2, 3, and sometimes a Sliding/Open House round). You register on ipu.admissions.nic.in, fill your college preferences (you can list DME as one of your choices), and seats are allotted based on your CLAT/CUET rank and preference order. Once a seat is allotted, you pay a partial fee online to confirm it. Physical document verification at the allotted college (DME, in this case) is required after seat confirmation. You do not need to visit the college before seat allotment.
Ques. What career options are available after completing BA LLB from DME?
Ans. Graduates of the BA LLB program from DME pursue diverse career paths including litigation (district courts, High Court, Supreme Court), corporate law (law firms, in-house legal departments of companies), judicial services (UP, Delhi, Haryana judiciary), civil services (UPSC/state PSCs), legal journalism, academia, and policy research. DME's Judicial Training Academy specifically supports students preparing for judiciary exams. The college also facilitates internships at courts, law firms, and legal NGOs throughout the program.
Ques. Is the 85% Delhi seat reservation a problem for students from outside Delhi? What are my chances?
Ans. Yes, 85% of seats in all GGSIPU-affiliated colleges, including DME, are reserved for Delhi-domicile students. Only 15% of seats (approximately 27 seats out of 180 for BA LLB at DME) are available for outside-Delhi candidates. This means outside-Delhi students need a significantly better CLAT/CUET rank to secure admission compared to Delhi students. Additionally, 10% of total seats are available under Management Quota, which is merit-based with an interview and does not have the Delhi domicile restriction.
