Course Curriculum Overview

4

DME is one of the best IPU colleges in terms of imparting education. The professors teach students through multiple study materials, and on the first day of every semester, the professors (subject-wise) draw a road map of the way the curriculum will proceed. One of the best things about the professors is that they prepare comprehensive and guided study materials in the form of PPTs, which are made available to students through Google Drive and also uploaded on the CollPoll Portal, making it easy for students to prepare for the exams. The college has a very good library and librarians, which has been my personal favorite spot in college. Each student has their own Library Card on which we can get three books every semester, and the college ensures that there is a sufficient number of books for students to access. The professors have been very helpful in informing us on the first day of the semester classes, which book will be helpful as a commentary for each subject. Beyond classroom facilities, the professors also take the pain of finding relevant articles, research papers, and preparing notes for us on heavy topics to make them easy for us. We also have our semester exams, which have helped us to skill ourselves in answer writing, making the process of giving Final semester exams easy and understandable to everyone.

Internships Opportunities

4

DME has been very active in terms of creating suitable opportunities for its students to have good internships, job placements, and skill-based learning sessions. Several law firms like SAM, CAM, and Kamti & Associates have provided placement opportunities to students. Seasoned lawyers and Judges have also come to college for workshops and discussion sessions. Faculties at DME have also published books publsihed under Co-Authorship with students liek Court Room No. 1 etc whcih ahs given opportunities to students to gain traction beyond academics.

Placement Experience

4

The Placements Cell became more active in the last few years of my college. With regular placement cell sessions being organised, CV drafting workshops being organised, lawyers and various other legal luminaries, and sector heads from Tier-1 and Tier-2 firms being called to have engaging sessions with students, and tying up with the college to provide summer/winter internship opportunities to students. Students even got the opportunity to intern under Senior Adv. Pradeep Rai, among several other advocates. Students have received placement offers from firms like Kamiti & Associates, SAM, Kahitan etc. The Package ranges from 3,00,000-6,0000 p.a. Various seniors have also gone abroad to pursue LLM in IVY League colleges like Oxford, Cambridge etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees Structure The College has been very accommodating and affordable for students coming from all sections of society. My college fees for the five year was around Rs. 4,00,000/-. The fee structure per year was very flexible with one-time payment options and monthly payment facilities for students belonging from EWS category. Alongside the flexible fees submission option, the college also provides scholarships to students scoring in the top three ranks every year. The College authorities are very sincere and helpful in terms of applying for yearly fees relaxation options for students from the reserved category to help them in the easy continuation of their education. Some of the students from my batch of 2020-2025 have availed these facilities and were constantly helped by the HOD and professors to avail these benefits.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is very engaging. The College constantly organises various workshops, drafting & CV skilling sessions, Research methodology workshops, Competitions like DME Moot Court, and our yearly ALOHA, the heartthrob of DME. Students from different colleges come to attend our ALOHA festival. The college is well-equipped with digital classroom facilities and also provides AC facilities.

Admission

Honestly, when I joined DME, it was COVID time, and leaving home to study in a different state felt difficult. DME was close to my place of residence, and one of my school seniors was already studying at DME. Through them, I got acquainted with the college and booked my visit. I was given a tour of the college by Ms. Rimsi, and I got the opportunity to interact with some other seniors on campus. Overall, I found the campus to be fairly good with several facilities like the Media room, a well-maintained Library, a dedicated Placement cell room, Moot Court Hall, a well-equipped NM Hall with a very good number of sessions, societies, and other amenities available. The fee structure and payment methods were also flexible, which made me choose DME as the college, as it has a good ranking and is also NAC accredited now.

Faculty

4

I have been blessed to have been taught by some of the best faculty members on the Campus. The College has so many faculties that are subject experts and mentor and guide students beyond classrooms. The professors have been highly approachable; they even give their students their free time to address the issues being faced by students (whether personal or academic-based). The professors use a holistic learning approach where they don't stick only to etxt book and conceptual learning but also make sure that students are provided with practical and skill-based learning. We get to discuss with our professors ongoing legal changes, gaps in procedural laws, and case discussions that go beyond textbook learning and help students to learn the art of argument framing and being legally aware, which are two of the most crucial things for a law student. The professors help in evaluating the writing skills of students, help in learning the art of writing research papers, and several faculty members have co-authored research papers and book chapters with students.

Night Life

4

Since I was a day scholar, I have had a pretty good time at college. I got to attend various workshops, skill-based sessions headed by sector experts, and was also privilaged to organise competitions and workshops for the Debate Society and MERAKI: The Mental Health Society. The College has given various facilities like a canteen, open gyms, a well-equipped library with computers for PWDs as well, and a fairly good campus to enjoy and learn with peers. The best hangout space for me has been the Library and the Reception area, where there is always commotion, and you get the opportunity to interact with faculty across departments.

Our college provides several placement opportunities and above 90% of the students have been placed securely. Many of them find a job on their own according to their field of interest but apart from that the college has alumni in various tier 1 firms and other distinguished law offices including but not limited to Sai Krishna, Karanjawala, Wadia Ghadi & Co., SAM, Khaitan etc. from where internship opportunities are also provided to the students. Average package range at 4-5 LPA and highest may go upto 12 LPA which is the industry standard in law for a fresher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There has lot of visits like court visit, parliament visit, etc The curriculum provides a basic foundation of theoretical knowledge that is useful for understanding core concepts and for pursuing further academic studies, such as higher education or competitive examinations. It helps develop analytical thinking and subject awareness. There is significant scope for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods. The syllabus should be updated regularly to include recent developments, practical modules, project-based learning, internships, workshops, and skill-enhancement courses.Examinations are conducted frequently in the form of internal assessments, mid-semester exams, and end-semester exams, which sometimes creates academic pressure for students. The timing of exams is often closely packed, leaving limited time for proper preparation and revision. In terms of difficulty, the exams are generally of moderate level, though some subjects are challenging due to lengthy syllabi and conceptual depth.

Corporate Law is a subjects but no corporate placements as law firms were the sole contributors of our university. They gave as many placements as 30% students were placed and that too with very thin packages. So, university needs to fix this just like they have fixed every single thing at the campus.

Placements for Law are not comparable to the tech courses so far at GLA. Every year combining BBA LLB and BA LLB around 300 and I don't think even 100 are placed. So, GLA University will have to find a way to get atleast half the students find placements here and because I know my chances of getting placements are slim, I will be opting for doing LLM after I am done with LLB in 2027.

Yes they do provide campus placement last year only almost 70 students were offered jobs in campus placement. But in our case most of the students have their own plans like the majority of them are generational lawyers so either they'll join their firms or they have very good contacts so they'll get places easily but in my case as a first generation lawyer we do get internship or assessment internship in which we get very good chances to get PPO they we don't have to relay on college for campus placement. In my case if i didn't get campus placement then wherever I've done my internship I'll try to convert my internship into a PPO

Students from third year have started getting Pre-Placement Offers, but many of those are majorly due to their own accomplishments. Students get ample amount of time to intern at various law firms and courts, to secure a PPO on their own. In addition to this, the Internship and Placement Committee, often comes in aid to secure PPOs for the students of the graduating batch.
