Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of this course fascinated me because it offers a theoretical knowledge with practical exposure in our life's. It includes the core subject's which helps to build strong foundational understanding with specialzed topics that are demanding in today's world. The curriculum prepares for the real world applications by developing critical thinking, analytical and communication skills. College can improve on increasing more interships for student's so that they can go there and could learn the skill of hands on learning. Also they can increase the collaboration with more industries. The exams are conducted at regularl intervals- internal assessment 1, internal assessment 2 and final exams, which helps in continuous evaluation of student's performance.
Internships Opportunities
The companies such as law firm's ( litigation and corporate firms) and corporate legal departments. They offers role such as legal intern, research intern and corporate intern. For a intern the stipend ranges from 45000-75000 and for a associate stipend ranges from 3-4 LPA- all these stipend depends upon the role and responsibilities. Top firms offers high stipends usually. Internships usually involves legal drafting and researching, case analysis and court work( in litigation internships) and corporate and compliance work. Many times it happens that the students have to find the interships on their own and also limited stipend opportunities in many internships.
Placement Experience
In the 3rd year of law college students become eligible for campus placements. They are many companies such as Khaitan and Co., AZB and partners, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Co. , etc and many more. Highest package of Khaitan and Co goes upto 140000-160000 per year. In our college 80-90 percent of students get interships placements. My plans after degree to go in a corporate law firm and specifically in the Khaitan and Co for better experience and learning new skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year- wise fees for our college is in between 110000-150000 rupees per year. Now, I am in my 2nd year of law college and for 3rd year I will be paying 110000 rupees. Our college offers scholarship in every year for academics excellence for every department in dme. The scholarship varies between 5000-30000.
Campus Life
The annual cultural event usually held between February - March, featuring events like dance, music, fashion show, and many more competitions. Student's have acess to National and international journals, books, magazines and newspapers. It covers all core subject's as well as additional material for understanding the subjects in more depth. Our college provides us subscription of Manupatra. The classroom are of smart board's, projectors for better understanding. Still some of the projectors of classroom our not working which has to be taken care of and immediately it should be repaired. The college offers plenty of sports and extracurricular activities such as cricket, basketball, volleyball, and badminton etc. Student's are encouraged to participate in intra- college competitions and inter- college competitions. There are several students run club's and societies that are cultural committee, Meraki cell( mental health cell), sports committee, debate clubs, dance clubs and fashion show clubs etc. But library may lack updated editions of books and journals. The digitall acess to e-books are not available.
Admission
I had applied to several other college's such as Delhi University colleges and IPU colleges. I receive some of the confirmation letters from them. I choose this college because it offers me a amalgamation of academic growth, faculty support and holistically learning environment. The main reason for my rejection from the college was due to the high cut offs and strong competition. Eligibility criteria is that the candidates must have completed 12th for a recognised board with a required minimum percentage usually around 50-60 percent, depending upon the course. Entrance exams accepted are the CUET , CLAT and IPU CET. Mostly students prefers giving CLAT as candidates from this entrance exams are more preferred than CUET candidates. All the process was smooth and week organised.
Faculty
The Student and faculty relationship is cordial. As faculty teacher's ask student's oftenly about their day to day studies, which creates a environment of forming good relationship with your teacher's. In terms of approach, faculty teacher's highly good in communicating and building trust towards other's. In my 2nd year of law college there are 6 exam's which are difficult. On average if in classroom there are 60 students then only 1-2 students fail the exams
Night Life
Our college library and cafeterias usually opens at 9 am to 5 pm. But during exams hour library time may get extended although the acess is limited and restricted after closing time. Hangout places inside the campus are the cafeteria, gym and library. And hangout places outside the college are the local cafes and food stalls such as fast-food outlets. Busy roads and areas at night usually are safe to roam around but not alone after 10 pm.
