Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is updated according to the change in laws and the course prepares us so well with the substantive knowledge that the practical application becomes easier. The exams are conducted in mid sem however there are various other activites including PSDA's and other research paper activities which develops the researching and analysing skill set of the student. The internal exams are set at moderate-difficult range. The final semester exams are also moderately difficult.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available with the college and tier 1 law firms offers internship positions including Khaitan, Trilegal, Karanjawala, Anand and Anand among various others. Students also secure internships with Supreme Court-High Court Judges, Additional Solicitor Generals, Senior Advocates, Competition Commission of India, National Green Tribunal, Manupatra and various other distinguished law firms and judicial offices. There is CV building workshops, HR conclaves, Law conclaves etc. where partners of Tier 1 law firms and established law offices have been constantly partici[ating and providing opportunities to students.
Placement Experience
Our college provides several placement opportunities and above 90% of the students have been placed securely. Many of them find a job on their own according to their field of interest but apart from that the college has alumni in various tier 1 firms and other distinguished law offices including but not limited to Sai Krishna, Karanjawala, Wadia Ghadi & Co., SAM, Khaitan etc. from where internship opportunities are also provided to the students. Average package range at 4-5 LPA and highest may go upto 12 LPA which is the industry standard in law for a fresher.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees ranged from Rs. 85,000-1,20,000 depending on the year of study. The total fees amounted to less than Rs. 5,00,000 which was paid by myself as well. During our term of study, the fees decreased as the year increased. The college provided EWS financial assistance as well as merit scholarships for the top 3 academic achievers of every course and year. Current fee structure for first year is as follows: Tuition fees- 77,300, University charges- 20,000, Activity fee- 5,000, Visits- 2,000, Security- 10,000.
Campus Life
People who are focused on achieving something in life are not too concerned about campus life however its not as if that shouldn't be the case. Campus life is okayish to decent in DME however there are lots of conferences, carnivals and functions organised in the college. DME organises the Aloha Annual Cultural fest around March, Lakshya Annual Sports fest around October, Alumni Meets around February and certain other functions. The books and journals available in the library are diverse with orders placed even more every year for upgrading the intellectual garden. Classrooms are also well equipped with working ACs (which are repaired if working faulty), smartboards and comfortable seating arrangements. The college in the campus itself does not offer sports facilities but that does not hamper the organisation of inter-college or intra-college sports competitions because the same is done in the sister school of DME i.e. Mayoor International School. Or else the students travel to other colleges for the competitions. Most of the clubs in college like Meraki mental health cell, IPR cell, sports cell, cultural cell, placement cell among various others are headed by students themselves with the faculty supervisor acting only as a pillar in see throughing the success of the events organised by individual cells.
Admission
I received confirmed admission from University of Mysore but DME was near to my residence. I had put DME as my first preference in the counselling session because several seniors of mine had taken admission here. The admission process of my college is through CLAT examination and there is management quota as well.
Faculty
Professors are one of the best in DME. They are extremely helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The student-faculty relationship is very cordial and amazing. The Professors are approachable, helpful and kind. Law Department's HOD is also amazing. She is very kind and active in identifying the best interests of the students. Every semester has 5 internal exams conducted in college as well as final university level exams for the said 5 subjects. Student passing percentage is above 95% and the course curriculum is extremely relevant to the industry requirement. The final result is calculated from the University level and DME has had students securing rankings in the top 10 positions consistently at the said university level.
Night Life
DME is favourable as a day-scholar college and there is not much of a nightlife thing here. But the afternoon-evenings are good. Infact the college prefers the safety of students and hence all the rules and guidelines are made considering the said aspect which includes closure of campus after 6pm. Students however have so much to do during day at the campus. The college has an open gym, canteen, library and amphitheatre where interested students bring their own musical instruments like guitar and they vibe with others. Hostel is there in college but not situated near the premises. Its in the campus of the sister concern college DTU. The famous hangout spots include Sonu Bhaia's Maggi stall, amphitheatre evening vibes etc. among others.
