Hasnraj College: A new start

Likes

The campus life and people interaction, especially the crowd is very versatile and talented. You come across people with talents spread over multiple domains and get a chance to interact and learn as well.
The canteen has a great range of food options ranging from cheap options to healthy ones as well made while keeping hygiene and taste in mind. The canteen staff is also very friendly and helpful. There’s also a juice stand for shakes and juices.
The college faculty is very helpful and well versed with their curriculum. Always ready to help out and clear doubts.

Dislikes

The wifi does not seem to work much in the campus despite the fee charges paid

I will rate the curriculum as fairly comprehensive and relevant. It was the curriculum that led me to choose the college as it builds a strong foundation in core subjects like programming, data structures, etc. these subjects are essential for industry roles and higher studies. Exams are semester based with internal exams and mid Sem exams. Overall academically sound curriculum.

Hansraj is like a Dream.

Likes

The most favourite factor about my college is Diversity.It offers diverse culture,activities for overall development.
The other most likeable thing is that here all students ,peers are very talented,They inspire and motivates everytime.
Faculty is very open minded and up to date ,they try their best to connect with the students.

Dislikes

The one area which can be improved is time table.The schedule is not very productive or effective.

Curriculum is old and rigid,they still teach out dated syllabus and methods and syllabus is updating very slowly. But with the introduction of SEC and VAC and GE subjects ,students have different options which aligns with NEP.

The college infrastructure is one of the best in campus.
The focus on academics and efforts in producing remarkable results.
The professors are always helpful and considerate of our problems.

Dislikes

We get a limited amount of break in our course due to hectic schedule.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college follows NEP and the curriculum fulfills all the necessary knowledge required at undergraduate level. NEP also adds VAC, AEC and SEC as extra subjects that feel irrelevant at time. However someone can utilise it well to develop an understanding of other fields too. The exam difficulty is moderate but requires complete knowledge of the syllabus to score well.

Best among colleges

Likes

The teaching staff is amazing. They are punctual and affable. The lectures are interactive making it easy to learn.
The library contains almost all the books required by the syllabus which is very helpful.
There are four different canteen outlets that allows for various eating options making the experience enjoyable.

Dislikes

There is a strict rule of 67 percent attendance which is considered mandatory.

Placement Experience:

Our college has pretty good placements especially in the commerce departments with offers being made from companies like deloitte Accenture and lenskart. The average package is of 900000 per annum. I am more inclined towards research and intend to pursue a master's degree.

It is nice to be hansraj but it has its own cons.

Likes

The crowd is very diverse, you can find every type of person from north to the south.
The professors are very good their knowledge is incredible
The campus remains clean and have lot of trees.

Dislikes

The washrooms are not clean always, there is lack of cleanliness
The ground closes at 4 pm and I think that it's too early

I don't have enough information regarding the placement but all I know is that there is a campus placement offers and it is managed by placement cell of Hansraj College. College gives enough theory knowledge but fir the soft skills we need to take extra care of that after college.

Great academic environment as my college is too good when it comes to academics.
Very disciplined, there's no such things happened that can ruin college reputation.

Dislikes

My college is somewhere lag behind when it comes to organising good events.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the beginning I didn't understand even a single unit like what they're trying to tech me through this but gradually I got this and started reading it thoroughly and now I'm able to do good in it without any problem and feeling better now.

Moments of happiness

Likes

I liked the ration of girls and boys it's almost same .
The teaching method of teachers and the library.
College infrastructure and various opportunities and sports ground .

Dislikes

Events in college are usually too short like till 5 pm only .
Classes starts at 8:40 in winters atleast it should start by 10 .

English hons is not a course in which placement is that widespread as far as I'm aware . But our college provides placements for other courses like b.com etc and we have placement cell which keeps updating us on internship or placement opportunities and overall package is quite good .

My Experience at hrc has been largely positive
Acaedmic Enviornment is very competetive and motivating
Faculty is supportive and knowledgable, though some subjects,could use more practical teaching methods

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.Com (Hons.) curriculum is relevant and builds a strong foundation in commerce and finance. It prepares students well for higher studies, though more practical exposure would be beneficial. Exams are semester-wise and moderately difficult.

Hansraj College: A 3 Dimensional Review

Likes

The thing that i liked the most is the exposure here. Since Hansraj is located in the north campus so you meet the best minds not only from your college but from various other colleges as well, which provides great exposure and opens possibilities.
The faculty here is very good. They are masters of their profession and very understanding at the same time. They are always ready to help you not just in academics, but beyond it as well.
Hansraj has the most number of socities in the DU circuit. You get to interact with a lot of like minded people and ultimately work on something fruitful. You name it and there is a society for that. It really helps you to build your personality.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is not that good, however it is improving. A new auditorium with a new building is being constructed. Additionally the boys hostel is being constructed as well. So they are working on improving the infrastructure.
The politics culture, not just in Hansraj but in entire DU is irritating. People barge in between the classes to promote themselves and dissappear after they win, however you can always seclude yourself from that. There's no compulsion to take part.
Hansraj administration is slightly on the tougher side. The fests and other events usually end before evening, but you can always visit the fests of surrounding colleges which are pretty good, again a perk of being in north campus.

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Location of the college is good as nearby accommodation facilities and other important things are easily available
The infrastructure of college is overall good if compared to other college of du
The college holds a good Goodwill which gives you a platform to leverage it

Dislikes

The hostel facilities are not available for boys
Many of the Infrastructures are going under the reconstruction

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell in Hansraj College which does provides placements of highest package around 25 lakh of last year and being median package around 7 lakhs, but this for selective courses like economics and BCom Honours and computer science Honours & few of mathematics honours while rest of the courses required to have different kind of skill sets can also go for placement depending up on the role that the companies bring to be hired for

One of my friends graduated with a B.A Economics (H) from Hansraj last year. So, I think I can answer your question.

Here are some of the best things about the institute.

This college has an ‘old world’ feel. The infrastructure of the college is great.
The fee structure is affordable as compared to other private colleges.
It has some incredible graduates, including Shahrukh Khan, Ranvijay, and Anurag Kashyap. The list is really long.
Amazing crowd, the individuals here are both fun and hardworking at the same time. Admission is based on merit in qualifying examinations.
Some of our professors are truly amazing, you will not find such professors at other colleges, even SRCC.
There are many societies to explore like dramatics, photography society, and fine arts society, etc.
The hostel was my friend’s home for three years, and there is simply no better place to stay when studying at Hansraj. However, it doesn’t have a girls’ hostel.
North Campus has the best college location.

You will not regret choosing the institute.
