Course Curriculum Overview

5

I think the course curriculum is pretty relevant. We have plant systematics in the first year which makes is really helpful and fun to study. Through this we are able to actually identify plants and get a real feel for the subject. The labs are helpful as we perform experiments by ourselves allowing us to see and understand the theory better. We also have a few trips included which provide real life experience. I believe more field trips should be included as they help in providing hands on knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

5

A decent number of internships are available. Companies offer internships for profiles like marketing executive data analytics and content writing with a fair stipend. The process includes the submission of CVs group discussion or test and interviews.

Placement Experience

5

Our college has pretty good placements especially in the commerce departments with offers being made from companies like deloitte Accenture and lenskart. The average package is of 900000 per annum. I am more inclined towards research and intend to pursue a master's degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

For Bachelor of science in botany I've paid 33145 rupees for the first year during admission. The tution fee is 180 rupees and the lab fee is 500 rupees for my course. The University development fee is 1500 for everyone.

Campus Life

5

The ground is quite large with a basketball court kabaddi court and volleyball court along with cricket field and a special archery range. Campus also have separate area for table tennis and badminton. We have air conditioned computer labs with good wifi connection available. The college societies are also pretty active organising various events year round.

Admission

Hansraj has always been my top preference as its is consideted best for science courses offering well equiped labs and a dedicated faculty. It also has a top NIRF ranking which played a major role in my selection of the college. It also has vibrant societies which help in holistic development. I wanted to develop some real skills that would help me in real life. The admission process includes DUCSAS portal where we use CUET UG marks and colleges are allocated accordingly.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is quite good and the staff is approach able and available. The lab staff that I work with are really helpful and encouraging which makes the lab experiments less stressful. They are available whenever needed and assist with even the smallest issues. In the first year I have seven subjects from which three of them are discipline selective core subjects and we have exams accordingly. We are free to choose additional subjects based on our interests. A language subject like Hindi and EVS are compulsory in the course appearing alternately according to the semester. When you are well prepared exams are usually not hard to pass.

Night Life

5

Our college is near to kamla nagar which is a good spot for shopping with friends. Across the road there are many shops like belgium waffles and burger king. Sudhama's chai is a pretty famous spot and a lot of students hangout their after classes. Library closes at 8pm so you are free to study until then.

Placement Experience:

The college doesn't provide much placements, eventhough there is a placement cell in College, it's special for b.com hons and eco hons. The highest package was somewhat 59 lakhs and normally companies like Deloitte hires. As i said placements is only exclusive for the students who studies finances. I won't ve opting for anything placements as I prefer mostly doing Masters

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college follows NEP and the curriculum fulfills all the necessary knowledge required at undergraduate level. NEP also adds VAC, AEC and SEC as extra subjects that feel irrelevant at time. However someone can utilise it well to develop an understanding of other fields too. The exam difficulty is moderate but requires complete knowledge of the syllabus to score well.

The course can be a little bit too, overwhelming as the curriculum is really outdated as compare to what skills are required in the real world, but the introduction of SEC and VAC subjects have really helped add value to the course

Placement Experience:

Placemenets of the overall colleges are good, especially for commerce related streams, however for science streams they are just well. Highest package varies around 12-15lpa and average is 5-9lpa. 60% students get placed while others either prefer higher studies or get rejected. I plan to go for higher studies.
