Course Curriculum Overview

4

The B.Com (Hons.) curriculum is relevant and builds a strong foundation in commerce and finance. It prepares students well for higher studies, though more practical exposure would be beneficial. Exams are semester-wise and moderately difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship Opportunities at Hansraj College (B.Com Hons): Hansraj College supports B.Com (Hons) students with internships through its Internship Cell and annual Internship Fair, connecting students to companies across finance, marketing, audit, content, and research domains. Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for the B.com (H) is quite affordable at Hansraj College , University of Delhi. For the general Category the major portion of fee is paid in first year. In my case the first year fee is approximately is 30000-31000 which includes tution fee and and other compulsory charges and university charges. In the second and third year is fee is nominal.

Campus Life

4

Campus life at Hansraj College is active and engaging, with annual cultural and academic events held throughout the year, mainly between February and April. The library is well-equipped with a wide range of academic books and journals relevant to commerce and other disciplines. Classrooms have basic technological facilities like projectors, though some could be upgraded. The college offers good sports facilities and many student-run societies related to culture, finance, debating, and social work, which play an important role in student engagement and overall campus life.

Admission

I chose Hansraj College because of its strong academic reputation, excellent commerce faculty, and consistent placement record compared to other DU colleges I applied to, such as Hindu College and Kirori Mal College. While I met the cutoffs for Hansraj, I narrowly missed admission to a few higher-cutoff colleges due to intense competition and marginal score differences in CUET the admission process is conducted through CUET-UG, followed by the DU CSAS portal, where seats are allotted based on normalized scores and cutoffs. For B.Com (Hons.), CUET is mandatory and highly competitive, with high cutoffs. The overall admission process was transparent but competitive and stressful due to limited seats and close cutoffs.

Faculty

4

The faculty at hrc is very supportive experienced and approachable with a balanced faculty student ratio. The course follows the du semester system with internal assesments and end semester exams which are moderately difficult. The curriculum is relevant and manageable for most students.

Night Life

4

Nightlife around Hansraj College is fairly lively due to its North Campus location. The college campus and library usually close by evening, and hostels have fixed in-time, so most late-night activities happen outside campus. Students often hang out at places like Hudson Lane, Kamla Nagar, and Vijay Nagar, which have cafés and food joints open till late. The area is generally safe to roam around at night in groups, and these outings help students relax and socialize after classes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.
