Course Curriculum Overview
The college follows NEP and the curriculum fulfills all the necessary knowledge required at undergraduate level. NEP also adds VAC, AEC and SEC as extra subjects that feel irrelevant at time. However someone can utilise it well to develop an understanding of other fields too. The exam difficulty is moderate but requires complete knowledge of the syllabus to score well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The overall fees consisting of tuition fees, registration fees, admission fees, development fees and lab fees is around ?31000 per year and it increases every year by 1000-2000. There are merit based scholarship and need based fees waiver available that can be upto 50% of the course fees. Need based fees waiver needs income proofs.
Campus Life
The college society culture is vibrant and there are around 80 societies with diverse focus. There are marketing, finance, science, environmental, music, theatre, social developmental and various other societies. They have a great impact on students character development. We learn to take responsibilities and leadership. We also have fests where all the societies and clubs do their flagship events.
Admission
The admission process is based on CUET scores and DU's CSAS system where we can apply in all the colleges and course combination. Merit decides the college+course from our preference list. There are 3 rounds in CSAS and a student may get a college in 1st round if the cut off is made. They can get an upgrade on their preference in subsequent rounds.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 18:1. They are very helpful and teacher-student relationship is really nice. They are very approachable and solve our issues as soon as they can. Each year has 2 semester exams and BSc(H) Zoology has 3 core papers in each sem with 60 marks of theory exam and 20 internal marks. We have practical exams of 80 marks too making each paper of 160 marks.
Night Life
Night life at DU is mostly cozy tea stalls and some food otherwise people prefer to be in their PGs. Most colleges have hostels but with limited capacity thus students live in nearby PGs. Locality of North Campus is safe but not in every area. There are quite places where roaming around can feel dangerous. Libraries are present in each college and allowed till 8pm.
