It was good the fest was also very good and so much enjoyable and the environment for study was fabulous.
I have got a scholarship like swami vivekananda scholarship so it helped me a lot.
Awesome faculty members and teachers are there in our college and their teaching method is fantabulous they help the students alot and make students comfortable in learning and feel free to ask .

Dislikes

Some faculties are worst they don't teach us properly
Sometimes the loads of assignments can be a burden above the upcoming exams.
Encounter with seniors can be a little problematic sometimes.

Siliguri Institute of technology - A unique world

Likes

Our college library is very big and huge and they are many quality books
Our college has cricket ground Football ground basketball ground badminton court
Our college is nature holic the college is situated in the centre of tea garden

Dislikes

Physics faculty should be increased we need more number of good and quality physics teachers
Canteen food price is little High We would like to reduce that price

Placement Experience:

From the fifth semester and 6 semester the students of this college are eligible for the campus placements they are various companies who visit our campus like TCS Wipro Cognizant Capgemini P360 etc the highest package from this college was 51 lpa in Microsoft and the average package of this colleges 4-6 lpa

Very large liabrary with quality books .
Cricket and football ground, basketball ground, badminton court, games room
ESPORTS Tournament, Tech Fests , other activities

Dislikes

Number of bus route should be increased .
They took a fees of 4500 rs for dress in which they give 2 tshirts 2 pant piece and 2 shirt piece, I think according to price it's not worth it for uniform

From 5th or 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement Highest package from this college is 51 LPA in Microsoft and average package is 4-6 LPA. The placement rate is above 85% in this college Companies like thought works, p360, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, cognizant, and many more visit the campus

Having a good time in SIT

I'm in 1st sem right now, so all the teachers I've met till now, they are friendly..
We have a nice campus canteen area, and courts for different sports.
Classes are going on regularly.. and everything is fine.

Dislikes

We have an odd timing, from 2.10 pm to 5.30 pm because of that we don't get bus facility like other departments.
It's a fault of the university not college.. University has to understand that kids don't become developers to code on papers.. so stop asking them questions on coding in sems. Instead take a practical exams for coding languages instead of asking
To code on papers. And work on your skills. Don't wait for college to give you placements. Untill now there's nothing more than I don't like..

Placement Experience:

If you want better placements don't just stuck on the college studies.. give your extra times to learn skills.. like if college is teaching you c and c++, go home and dig deeply on that language, learn yourself.. college will get the opportunity for you to get job, but it's upto you after that.. if you can't get job after an interview that's your fault not college's. So work on yourself. Average package is 5-6 lakhs but if you work on yourself you can get high packages. Like this year or the previous year someone got 51lpa.. college doesn't matter, your skill does.

The college lowdown

Likes

The college has a beautiful environment. The campus is large in the middle of a tea garden and has lots of trees a small Stream flows in front of the college and there are hangout spots beside it and has a mountain facing view
The students can make any social clubs and will get mentored by professors.
Each class is divided into groups of 15 students and get mentored by a professor.

Dislikes

The gym equipments are very old and it isn't maintained very well
The Library doesn't have any back-up power supply can be troublesome in summer days
The professors can be ride sometimes and can pry into personal lives even after stating that the issue is personal

Placement Experience:

From 6th and 7th Semester students get eligible for campus placements. The companies that visit are TCS,. Cognizant, Dell, intel, Amazon, Microsoft, McAfee, Hp etc 70% plus gets placed every year. Students must maintain a cgpa above 7 to be eligible for campus placements. After getting a degree I want to develop my career as a software engineer and product manager.

Reality of Siliguri Institute of technology

The professors were well qualified and our HOD has always been a sweetheart. Our HOD always helped anyone and everyone who needed it.
Our campus is very beautiful and very green.
Many clubs and events to participate in.

Dislikes

Canteen food is way too expensive and not hygienic.
Club room is only open after 1:30 pm which is very unfair if any class gets cancelled.
People can get bullied even after lot of actions taken against ragging.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course was quite good if we are talking about 1st year, 3rd year and 4th year. In the second year we were taught some arts subjects which were not at all relevant to our course. Subjects like industrial management were taught.

The colleges in the quiet surroundings it is away from the city
The faculty here in SIT has knowledge about the industry and can help you grow
The career opportunities and the placements provided by the techno India group is also the reason to choose this college over the others

Dislikes

Since it is away from the city students might have trouble in travelling the distance
The MCA is has a separate department that is located in the fourth floor
The college gymnasium equipments are not up to the standards

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MCA course allows you to get a deeper understanding about the computers and also it involves programming so this is basically a computer science and engineering course for those who want the deeper understanding about CSE

Faculties and the supportives staff all are helpful and kind , humble they give there valuable advices and help us a lot.There are technical lab for each individual subjects has digital class rooms , has a big size seminar hall
Outside from the main siliguri town surrounded by the tea garden and a beautiful view of hills so the environment of this college is respectively calm and student friendly for studies .
It has a beautiful campus the events whic h has organised by college like sitara, SIT techfrenzy,, annual cultural program makes the campus more shining and attractive.

Dislikes

Some of the teachers are not explaining there course properly.there must be more sports activity happening in the college.There be a gymnasium in college but not a better choice.
the infrastructure needs to improve and also the campus is also very small campus facilities are limited.There are not strong wifi connection inside the college so students faces many difficulties.
No hostel facilities available for those steudent whose home are not near to college so they must stayed in pg outside.

The environment was neat and clean. Teachers are very supportive
Placement for B.Tech course is very good
Teachers are very supportive regarding the co-curricular activities, as well as they organize several alumni meet

Dislikes

Placement for management department is not good
Placement department coordinators doesn't feel responsible for organising the placement drives
Principal is non-cooperative towards management department

Sports Activities are not much happening.
Campus could have been bigger with more facilities.

Placement Experience:

Placement percentage of our college is 85 to 90 percent. From 4 th year or 7 th sem students become eligible for campus placement. Companies like TCS, capegimini, Mahindra and other visit our college. My plan after college is off campus placement because I want to crack big MNC like facebook.

From 3rd semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies visited:- Google, Microsoft, etc. The highest package offered to date is 51 lpa by Microsoft. Percentage of students getting placements:- A student needs to secure at least 60 percentile.
