Model Engineering College Review

Likes

I have liked the campus very much as it is a small campus we can go anywhere quickly
There are various opportunities available for us especially if u join a club
We have strong like minded community that is really active and supportive

Dislikes

It's a very small campus compared to others
Building is a bit too old and lack of infrastructure
There isn't much sports opportunities well I can't complaint about that

Placement Experience:

The only good thing about this college is its placements. Model Engineering College is well known for its placement even competing with CET. We have an average of 6-8 LPA and highest package was 50CTC. 90% of students are placed mostly every year. I am planning to be a developer and gain experience and become an entrepreneur. We are eligible for placements from S5

Likes

Experienced and very well dedicated faculties. Faculties are very well discplined . They are solemnly commited to the course and sylabus completion.
This is a students run college. Every event in the college is conducted by students alone. Including tech fest.
The training and placement cell of the college is very active . It is also conducted by students and conducted in a very systematic way

Dislikes

EEE lab facilities are so poor. Not one proper lab is available.
campus life is not that great. Not many arts events are encouraged
Campus area is comparitvely less. Not enough space to sit and enjoy

Placement Experience:

I would say college placements are really good if you are looking for IT companies Core placements are very low. Electrical core placements are very rare , electronics core have much better placements. However 95% of students get placed if not in core then in software companies or in terms of internship

GOVT MODEL ENGINEERING COLLEGE REVIEW

The college provides great facilities in very high tech labs like fab lab , idea lab which includes 3D printing and many advanced technologies
The college also provides one of the best placements in kerala and also have a very supportive placement cell
Faculties are very much supportive in studies and also exyra curricular activities

Dislikes

The campus size compartively very small and is not large compared to other govt colleges
Also the sports facilities are not that good. We dont have a very well maintained football ground . Also the facilities and support for sports in the college is low
Also programs and fests are very low. We dont have many programs in the college we should strain on our own to conduct some programs

Placement Experience:

Almost all students who passout is placed in a company . Here placements are very high and almost 100% placements are offered . The companies that visited the college are Technology and IT Services: Infosys, TCS, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Cognizant, Oracle, Deloitte, and Tata Motors. Software and Internet Services: Adobe, Redbus, and Ansys. Professional Services and Analytics: Deloitte and EY. Electronics and EDA: Synopsys. Why should you choose Mec

Likes

Giving prime importance to academic along witg extra circular activities.
Great support for placements and internships from staffs and well as placement cell.
Friendly staff and students , large number of clubs to improve our skills.

Dislikes

Small campus interms of area even though facilities are good.
Cultural functions are not that much supported sometimes its an issue

Placement Experience:

Mec is best known for placement. From seventh semster placment starts . Placemnet cell and training cell will train us with lots of mock test and interviews before actual placements. Percentage of students getting placed are high.

The placements are awesome, the luminous are really supporting the college very well.
So basically here students are the leaders students almost manage everything in the college like activity hackathons programs etc.

Dislikes

The college is say unit of ihrd so I think it is because of this that the infrastructure is not that much good.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college was extraordinary officially 100% of the students are getting placed in Computer Science Engineering other department also have good placements. The alumini connection is very strong here. Many of the aluminious are placed in Big MNCs

Life at model engineering college

Likes

The crowd you get to mingle with in this college is excellent.
The faculty is very helpful and seniors helps whenever needed.
The placements are top notch, and the student body provides all the help.requires.

Dislikes

Campus life is very poor. There’s not much events.
The infrastructure is poor. But there’s all required facilities.
The ktu university structure is very hectic.

Placement Experience:

The placements at mec are top notch . The placement cell and training cell are student led. The highest package last year was 56lpa .most of the students in the computer science departments get placed.

Good hostel facilities and college academics, average infrastructure

Likes

Involvement in club core committees and organizing events.
Some faculty are really nice, friendly, good to be around, help with studies as well.
Ladies Hostel is amazing. Good wardens, cctv cameras and security for protection , good food and friendly chefs, good quality rooms and bathrooms, events like LH Day, Christmas, etc are celebrated.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is poor. Poorly maintained bathrooms and old classrooms and labs.
Some faculty are arrogant and take to their own methods of teahing. Students tend to detest their classes.
Faulty components and equipment in laboratories. Sometimes they put the blame on us when it was damaged already and ask for fine.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is good and has direct influence in the field of interest. We have subjects such as signal processing, Python and C Programming, Medical Imaging Techniques, Study of analyical and diagnostic equipment, Design Thinking an Hospital Engineering etc. The semesters put forward byt KTU are pretty tight and hecic but the subjects are very interesting.

Likes

My college have higher placement rate than colleges
They provide many opportunities for my career building and skill enhancement
Very attending nature and ragging free environment in my college

Dislikes

My college is smaller in size comparing to other campuses
Lack of teacher student communication in events and planning
Lack of ventilation and cooling in summer times

As I say my college has the second highest placement rate in Kerala and it offers many multinational companies like Apple , Google ,Twitter, Tata etc. you will be eligible for the placement from 6th semester onwards and average pack is 100000 rupees. You should atleast have a 8.5 cgpa to apply for placement drives as many companies have a cgpa cuttoff

Great for placements, Not so great for campus life.

Likes

Its location , It is situated at the heart of cochin city. Unlike other colleges it is easily accessible from the city,all means of transport are available from here.
Great social life. It is really easy to meet students of other classes and other years because of the small area of the college.

Dislikes

Area of the college is really small.There is not much place to hang around inside the college premises.
Not much emphasis on sports and arts programs

The placements here are great, if you are skilled you would get a very high paying job from here.Even if you are not that skilled,still you would get a decent job.The companies that visited include Deloitte, EY, Harman, Lenovo, Accenture, Air India.etc

MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

Likes

The college offers various workshops ,events and talks which really boosts motivation among students
Mec Thrikkakkara offers good placements for all batches.Also the staffs and students helps us in improving our skills through various clubs
The college is not very strict.This gives the opportunities to student learn and build skills.

Dislikes

The college lacks infrastructure which I found as a major drawback.
Besides workshops,There are no room for fun concerts or activities
We can't expect for a good college life around here besides developing our skills.

Placements are the main highlight of our college.Highest package offered this year was 52 lpa by D.E shaw &Co . Average package was around 8lpa. Almost all students from CSE and ECE were placed . Companies: Redbus, Deloitte,TCS,UST Global etcs. Students from sem 6-7 are eligible for placements.
