Ques. What is the SHRM CP certification and how does it benefit my career?
Ans. SHRM CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional) is a globally recognized credential for HR professionals. The BBA HRM curriculum at Rajagiri is uniquely aligned with SHRM's HR Curriculum Guidelines, which is a distinctive offering rarely found in undergraduate programs across India. This certification enhances your credibility in the job market, opens doors to international career opportunities, and positions you as a qualified HR professional. Employers actively seek candidates with SHRM certification as it demonstrates expertise in modern HR practices and strategic HR management. The certification gives you a competitive edge, especially when applying for HR roles in multinational companies and organizations with global operations.
Ques. Is this a 3-year or 4-year program, and what is the actual duration I need to commit?
Ans. The BBA (Hons.) HRM with SHRM CP is a 4-year full-time undergraduate program with a total duration of 48 months. This is different from some other BBA programs that may be 3 years. The extended duration allows for comprehensive coverage of HR concepts, practical training, and the integration of SHRM CP certification modules. Students are required to attend classes regularly on campus as it is a full-time program. The program typically runs from July to May each academic year, with breaks during summer and other university holidays.
Ques. What are the career prospects after completing this BBA HRM program?
Ans. Graduates of the BBA HRM program are well-prepared for various HR roles including HR Generalist, Talent Acquisition Specialist, Training and Development Manager, Compensation and Benefits Analyst, Employee Relations Manager, HR Analytics Specialist, Organizational Development Consultant, and HR Business Partner. The program opens doors to careers in diverse sectors including IT, banking, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and service industries. With the SHRM CP certification, you have enhanced employability in both domestic and international job markets. Many graduates pursue higher studies such as MBA or specialized HR certifications. The college reports that 71% of undergraduate students pursue higher studies or professional courses, while 27% secure placements immediately after graduation.
Ques. What is the total cost of the program including all fees, and are there any hidden charges?
Ans. The total tuition and special fees for the 4-year program amount to approximately INR 75,147. This includes annual tuition fees of INR 18,000 and special fees such as affiliation fee, administration fee, university union fee, sports affiliation, student welfare fund, and insurance premium. Hostel accommodation is optional and costs between INR 35,000 to INR 45,000 per annum depending on room occupancy type. Separate mess charges apply for hostel residents. All fees are non-refundable once enrollment is confirmed. The college may revise fees annually, so students should check the official website for the latest fee structure. There are no hidden charges, but students should budget for books, stationery, and other personal expenses separately.
Ques. What is the admission process and what are my chances of getting selected?
Ans. Admission to the BBA HRM program is merit-based, determined solely by the marks obtained in your 12th standard (Plus Two) qualifying examination. The college follows a transparent selection procedure where candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are ranked based on their 12th marks. Bonus marks are awarded to NCC, NSS, Ex-servicemen applicants, and widows/children of Jawans and Ex-servicemen. The application process is entirely online through the college's portal. You need to submit your application with scanned copies of your 10th, 11th, and 12th marksheets. Your chances of selection depend on your 12th marks and the competition level. The college does not conduct any entrance examination; merit from the qualifying examination is the sole criterion. Selected candidates are notified via email with their offer letters and enrolment dates.
Ques. Does the college provide hostel facilities, and is it mandatory to stay in the hostel?
Ans. Yes, Rajagiri College provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls at its Kalamassery and Kakkanad campuses. Hostel accommodation is optional and not mandatory for students. The hostel fees range from INR 35,000 to INR 45,000 per annum depending on room occupancy (double or triple sharing). The hostels offer comprehensive facilities including spacious accommodation, Wi-Fi connectivity, student mess with hygienic food preparation, laundry services, medical emergency systems, security, prayer rooms, gymnasium, reading rooms, and recreational facilities. The hostel environment is designed to foster community life, cultural exchange, and overall student development. Day scholars can commute from their homes. For students from outside Kochi, hostel accommodation provides a convenient option to focus on academics without worrying about daily commute.
