MES College Admission

Admission to courses in MES College Marampally is done on the basis of merit, followed by a personal interview. The admissions are conducted as per MG University rules in force. MG University conducts a Central Allotment Process (CAP) online.

Admission to BSc, BA, B.Com, BBA, and BCA program is given through a single-window system of MES University i.e. Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) under Merit Quota. Shortlisted eligible candidates are called for the interview round and qualified candidates are given admission to the course.

Candidates who are seeking admission to MSc, MA, M.Com and MHRM program are given on the basis of the candidate’s merit in the qualifying examination and performance in the interview round conducted by MES College. The college grants admission to the eligible candidates under Merit, Community, and Management Quota.

How to apply?

The process to apply for admission in MES College is:

Candidates must visit the M.G University website for registration.
Create an account with your plus two registration number, mobile number, and email id.
After paying online, fill in the application form with personal details, academic eligibility, and the options correctly, mentioning MES College among the 40 options, and then press the final submission button.

The students eligible for admission will be called for an interview. This does not guarantee admission. Carry the intimation card along for the interview. After admission is secured, the student will be enrolled in paying the fees for the entire semester.

MES College Placement

M.E.S College conducts many pre-placement drives, orientation programs, off-campus recruitment drives, pre-placement training sessions, career opportunities orientation, and finally, placement drives.

The median salary for graduates is INR 2.4 LPA and the median salary for postgraduates is INR 2.8 LPA in MES College.

MES College Scholarship

The following are the categories of scholarship that the students can avail during their period of study.

Scholarship	Eligibility
Post Matric scholarship	Should belong to Minority Community (Muslim/ Christian/ Buddhists/ Sikh/ Zoroastrians or Parsis). Should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous Board/ University Examination. The Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs.
Central Sector Scholarship	Should pursuing any Regular Course at Under-Graduate Degree level in any recognized Educational Institution Parental income should not exceed Rs 6 lakhs per annum Should not be belonging to the Creamy-layer as defined by the Department of Personnel and Training
Minority Welfare Scholarship	Should belong to Muslim, Latin, or Converted Christian community and should be a native of Kerala. Should be a GIRL student studying for the first year of Graduation Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination. Family Annual income should not exceed 6 Lakhs.
Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship	Should be a first-year student of Undergraduate or Postgraduate course Should belong to a BPL family. Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
Joseph Mundassery Scholarship	Should belong to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddha, Parsis, Jains community Family Annual income should not exceed 6 Lakhs Should be a native of Kerala

MES College Facilities

The facilities include:

Auditorium: The large and spacious college auditorium is designed to accommodate 2000 students comfortably. The auditorium is used for large gatherings and events like award ceremonies, inaugurations, assemblies, etc. In addition to this auditorium, there is also a seminar hall and a conference hall.
Hostel: Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls on the campus. Presently the girl’s hostel can accommodate 300 students and the boy’s hostel has a capacity of 40. The college has availed UGC assistance for setting up the hostel facility.
Laboratories: There are 14 separate laboratories in this college.
Library: The library was established in 1994 at the very inception of the Institution, with an area of 8000 sq. feet. It houses more than 15000 books and subscribes to more than 100 journals and magazines.
Other: 2D/ 3D animation labs, funded research projects for students, hygienic and well-maintained canteen, productive and dynamic.

Conclusion

The college is certainly a pioneering one, with an excellent set of faculty. The placement cell works hard to get placements for all the students. The courses are also relatively less expensive in comparison to most colleges. However, this college is not as well-known as most of the top institutions.

Ques. Are there any reservations or quotas?

Ans. Yes, 50% of the seats are reserved for SC/ ST/ SEBC categories. The seats under community quota are earmarked for students of the Muslim community and seats are filled on the basis of merit. Candidates who seek admission under the community quota should directly apply to the college along with CAP registration acknowledgment. However, no community quota is earmarked for self-financing programs.

20% of seats of aided programs and 50% of seats of self-financing programs are earmarked for management quota.

Ques. Are there any student clubs or cells?

Ans. There are many student clubs and cells. The clubs include Nature Club, Leo Club, Parliamentary Affairs Club, Quiz Club, Red Ribbon Club, Fine Arts, and Literary Club, and Films and Photography Club. The cells include Women’s Cell, Anti-ragging cells, Career Guidance, and Placement Cell, Grievance Redressal, Equal Opportunity Cell, OBC Cell, Minority Cell, SC/ST Cell, Anti Sexual Harassment Cell, and Anti Drug Cell.

Ques. Is there a Student Union at MES College?

Ans. Yes, all the students of M.E.S. College, Marampally are ordinary members of the College Union and the members of the teaching staff are its honorary members. The Principal shall be the Hon. Treasurer of the College Union. There is also a Staff Advisor to the College Union. The Student Union is coordinated by Dr. Sopna V Muhammed, HOD of Business Administration.

MES COLLEGE - A Basic Understanding

Likes

Campus is very beautiful. There are four different blocks and biosciences department is in the main block. Buildings are kept pretty clean.
The library facilities are good. Very good staff. You can use the reading room(above the library) to study and read in peace. Wide variety of books can be seen there.
Programs conducted by other departments are good. Bioscience department usually doesn't really participate.

Dislikes

Lack of encouragement for anything other than academics(bioscience department)
Even though some faculties are exceptionally good at teaching, some are beyond bad. So you need to reduce your dependence on others for studying
Very bad at informing things at the right time(bioscience department)

Various subjects being covered in the course curriculum

This curriculum provides a good theoretical knowledge. Considering the fact that this is a bachelor's course, the practicals included are also pretty good. Theory consists of different subjects like aquatic microbiology, immunology, classic genetics, microbial genetics, rDNA technology, molecular biology, clinical and nutritional biochemistry etc. Microbiology is the core subject. Biotechnology and biochemistry are complementary. First year is full of basics like fundamentals of microbiology, microbial physiology and metabolism, basic biotech and biochem. Second year is mostly industrial, aquatic, agricultural etc. From third year, there won't be any biotech and biochem. Third year is all about medical.

Fees of the course per semester

?19500/sem A slight increase in fees can be noted in even semesters. Library facilities are provided, so you can use books from there for academic purposes. This college comes under MG University, so the syllabus was a bit meh. Now that this program has been converted to an honours program, the theoretical and practical education has been improved. Campus is nice, very nature friendly.

Students view on campus life

Library is very good. A wide range of books are available. The staffs are very friendly and welcoming. They make the whole book finding process easy. It also comes with a reading room, which is very helpful in studying and reading in peace. We have NSS and NCC as groups.

Students view on faculties

As I mentioned earlier, some faculties are exceptionally good at teaching and some are so damn bad that you'll wonder who qualified them for this job. Some teachers that does their job well are •Anu Ruby Benny •Nisha P •Sajeena •Aswathy Vijay •Vivas Salim •Rafeeq Failure rate of students depends on the department. Bioscience department doesn't really have much fails. Even though some faculties are good, you need to stop depending on them entirely for studying. Because some semesters only consists of faculties that suck at teaching.

Admission process and eligibility criteria

It has the most facilities in MG University. Admission process wasn't very hectic due to good staff work. I scored 91% in kerala state board and I got accepted through allotment. To find more accurate details about admission, you should visit the college site. But keep in mind that the admission process is not at all hectic.

Night Life

The college consists of a gym which is accessible to everyone. Usually people from the hostel use it. Cafeteria food is average. Library is active till 4:30PM if I'm not worng. The locality is perfectly safe to roam around at night. Very good place with a lot of affordable food spots as they are targeted to college students.

I applied in St.mary's college thiruvalla and presentation college puthenvelikara for the same course and got the admission but chose this college as the laboratory facilities here is very good. For the admission process we just had to fill out the admission papers and pay admission fees along with first semester fees.

I applied for nirmala college muvattupuzha. But I got rejected in this college. And the I took mangement admission in this college. My marks percentage in 12th standard was not good enough to get in nirmala college so I got rejected. We just need to fill the college form for admission and then pay donation fees and semester fees. A student must have passed 12th exams and should have 55% in 12th exams the they are eligible.

I liked the programmes which is celebrated very grand.
I liked the campus very much, it's very clean and discipline.

I didn't like the classroom , there are only few fans.

I choosed this college because this college has a big value for the certificates. And we can get job easily in a good company. I applied for this college only and I got this with management admission. This college is better than other colleges. I didn't get rejected from any college. We just need to fill the form of the college and pay donation fees of 50000 and then pay semester fees of 22000. Students must have passed 12th exams and should have minimum of 55%.
