Which candidates are not eligible for AFMC Pune MBBS Admissions?

The following categories of candidates are not eligible to apply for AFMC Pune Admissions.Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, and Lower Math separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science / Social studies in High School / Higher Secondary (Multipurpose) or equivalent examination.Candidates who have passed only Pre-University / Pre-Degree (one-year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture / Veterinary / Dental Examination.Candidates who have passed the Pre-professional or equivalent qualifying examination as a private candidate or from Open schools.Candidates who have secured the requisite percentage but in subsequent attempts or compartment examination.

Are any seats reserved for SC/ST candidates at AFMC Pune?

For the SC/ST category candidates, up to 10 seats out of 145 will be offered subject to fulfilling the following criteria: -The SC/ST candidates must have applied for AFMC, Pune and also qualified in the NEET UG 2025 written examination.They must fulfil all other conditions/standards, as applicable to non-SC / ST candidates, like age eligibility, academic qualifications, medical fitness, etc.These seats will be in addition to any vacancies secured by SC/ST candidates on the basis of their position in the main merit list (excluding waiting list).In case of any SC / ST girl / boy, admitted against these vacancies the number of girls / boys to be admitted against the general seats will be reduced correspondingly.All such candidates will have to sign a surety bond on the same lines and on the same conditions as Non-SC / ST candidates.

Are there any special concessions for liability candidates at AFMC Pune?

The government provides the following concessions to service liabilitycandidate (male and female) at AFMC Pune:Entitled rations as authorized and subsidized messing arrangements.Hostel accommodation and allied services.AC-3 Tier railway warrant for journey during term vacation from college to home and back.AC-2 Tier rail journey on railway warrant after being commissioned.Book & Equipment Allowance of Rs 6,000/- per medical cadet per year for purchase of books and equipment during the entire training period.Stationery Allowance of Rs 1680/- per year & Rs 210/- per month.Uniform allowance Rs 6000/- per medical cadet during first year, and Rs 1250/- per year as maintenance allowance in subsequent years.Hair Cutting Allowance of Rs 210/- per month per medical cadet.Washing allowance Rs 840/- per month & Rs 315/- during break.All AFMC cadets are provided Insurance / Disability benefits by Army Group Insurance fund on payment of Rs 7,200/- as a one-time non-refundable premium. Additional premium for every relegated term of six months is Rs 1355/-. Insurance cover is Rs 15,00,000/- for death for 100% disability proportionately reduced to Rs 3,00,000/- for 20% disability. Is it mandatory for AFMC Pune students to avail hostel accommodation?

The College is fully residential and stay in the hostel is compulsory for all medicalcadets once they join/take admission in the college. Separate hostels for boys and girls are located in the college campus. AFMC Pune hostel fee is INR 20,400.

What are the placement opportunities like at AFMC Pune?

The placement opportunities at AFMC Pune are guaranteed once students get admission. Students get commissioned as Lieutenants after the final year of MBBS, during the internship. After the completion of the internship, the students are given the rank of Captain or its equivalent and posted as RMO (Registered Medical Officer) in various regiments. After serving for 3.5 years, they become eligible to pursue PG courses.

What if one does not wish to join the armed forces after AFMC Pune?

Students who do not wish to join the services after the completion of their program at AFMC Pune, must pay the bond amount of INR 65,00,000 and move out of AFMC without pursuing an internship.
