Armed Forced Medical College Pune offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and super speciality programs in Medicine, Management, Nursing, Paramedical, and Dental streams. Candidates are selected based on merit scored in the college-held entrance examination. Shortlisted candidates are selected based on an interview and a medical examination.
AFMC Pune offers MBBS as its flagship program. To be eligible, the candidate should have scored 50% in 10+2 with PCB. The final selection of candidates is based on their NEET-UG scores, followed by MCC Counselling. The total intake for 2025 is 150 seats (115 boys and 30 girls). AFMC Pune fees for MBBS is INR 64.95 Lakhs.
Admission to UG Programs is based on the candidate’s NEET UG scores, while candidates are enrolled for PG programs based on their NEET-PG Scores. Candidates should have cleared MBBS with 50% to be eligible for PG Admissions.
Qualified candidates have to mandatorily register and apply for AFMC Pune on the MCC Website during the NEET Counseling Registration. AFMC Pune will then release the merit list with the NEET Roll Number of the shortlisted candidates for further screening on its official website.

AFMC Pune MBBS Admissions 2025
AFMC Pune offers MBBS as its flagship program. Candidates should have cleared 10+2 with 60%, along with being a valid NEET-UG Rank Holder to be eligible for admission. Shortlisted candidates have to mandatorily register and apply for AFMC Pune on the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website during the NEET Counseling registration window. For 2025, the college will call 2000 students for counselling, including 1600 boys and 400 girls. The merit list will be displayed on the official website of AFMC Pune as well as on the Medical Counselling Committee. The shortlisted candidates have to then appear for the AFMC Pune MBBS admission procedure which includes following selection rounds:
- Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning (ToELR): 80 Marks
- Psychological Assessment Test (PAT): Qualifying
- Interview: 50 Marks
- Medical Examination: Qualifying

AFMC Pune General Eligibility Criteria
A candidate seeking admission to the MBBS Course in AFMC is eligible if he / she fulfils the following criteria: -
- The candidate should be a citizen of India. Foreign nationals of Indian origin may be admitted into AFMC only after they have acquired Indian Citizenship or in respect of whom the Ministry of Home Affairs issues a certificate of eligibility. This however does not apply to the 05 Govt Sponsored Candidates from Friendly Foreign Countries.
- Must be unmarried. Marriage during the course is not permitted.
- Should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence.
- Age criteria: The candidate should have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should be completing that age on or before 31 Dec of the year of admission of the first year of MBBS course but must not have attained the age of 24 years on that date, i.e., must have been born not earlier than 01 January 2002 and not later than 31 December 2008.

AFMC Pune offers admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, super speciality and doctoral courses based on NEET, NEET PG, and AFMC Entrance Exam scores. Ques. How can I apply to AFMC Pune without NEET?
Ans. One cannot seek admission to AFMC Pune without valid NEET scores.
Candidates who have cleared the cutoff rank in NEET for AFMC must appear for the further screening process set by the institute. This includes an interview and medical exam. Admission to a few other courses at the institute is based on the AFMC Entrance Exam but those courses are open to ‘In-Service Candidates’ only.

What is the minimum rank I should get in AIPMT for admission in AFMC, Pune?
First of all, AFMC does not consider AIPMT ranks anymore for admission. The NEET 2023 is the sole criterion that is given consideration for the MBBS program offered by AFMC Pune. Only the candidates meeting the qualifying NEET 2023 Cut-off are eligible to participate in the counseling process. After every round of NEET counseling, the last rank at which admission is possible is released based on the seat allotment result.
AFMC has yet to release the NEET 2023 Cutoff so you can refer to the previous year's cutoffs

Which is better, CMC Vellore or AFMC? Which college would provide me an assured seat in PG?
Without any second thoughts, choose AFMC over CMC because it ranks higher than most other medical colleges in the country. AFMC provides excellent exposure and opportunities to its students both in terms of academics as well as research. The most appealing aspect of the institute is that it’s a government college so the tuition is almost free of cost. CMC on the other hand is a private medical college that charges a high fee.
Although there isn’t a guarantee of a PG seat in any medical college, I can say that if you have done MBBS in AFMC then your chances of getting a PG seat are very high.
Overall, the top-notch academic ambiance and the highly qualified faculty pool make it an excellent choice and therefore should certainly be considered over CMC Vellore.
