Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW), located in Pune, admits students to its full-time MBBS program through the National Testing Agency's (NTA) nationwide NEET-UG entrance exam. Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW) is the first Medical College in the country that offers free medical education to five top-ranked girls' students. Five female students who place first on the NEET Merit List and are accepted into the college's MBBS program each year are given the Dr. Anandi Gopal Scholarship by the college. Under the terms and conditions of the Dr. Anandi Gopal Scholarship Scheme, these girls will have their entire academic fees waived for each year of the MBBS program.

Ques. How can someone apply to the MBBS program at SMCW?

Ans. You must take the NEET-UG exam and receive a high score in order to be admitted to SMCW. You must attend MCC counseling (All India Quota) after the release of the NEET results. There's no other way to secure a seat here. Since the college does not offer management quota or direct admissions, all admissions must go through the formal process.

My college has a very scenic campus amongst the hills,in the greenery. It just refresh your mind and calms it down, providing a sense of relief from the rusty noises of the city roads. The campus offers a perfect plan of modern infrastructure
The teaching at a medical College for women is blend of structural academics, clinical exposure and modern teaching methodology. Faculty comprises experience, professors, and doctors were approachable and dedicated to ensuring conceptual clarity.
The extra Curricular scene and semi cause women is five different and diverse of students are refreshing break from academics. The college encourages a balance lifestyle with various activities, clubs and events catering to different interests.

While some medical College, women of supportive empowering environment, being all girls institute does come with a fair disadvantages like limited social diversity, less real world representation, fewer networking opportunities

There is 1 year compulsory internship at the hospital for every college. We sign a bond stating the same at the admission time The stipend is not yet decided by the college since no batch has yet passed out Research plays a crucial role in shaping the ethic environment. At the MCW. The college encourages students to explore diverse research areas from basic medical sciences to clinical medicine, public health and medical technology projects have directly contributed to enhancing medical practice while others are focusing solving healthcare challenges, a significant project undertaken by the students involving investigation of air-pollution and respiratory diseases. In the urban population of Pune. The students conducted service analysis in hospital, data and research. The long-term effects of air pollutants on lung health. Research paper was subsequently published in a renowned national medical journal and presented at international conference.

Fees of the course per year and scholarship available in the college

MBBS degree is both an academic and financial challenge, especially in private institutions. My tuition fees significantly high. My college charges be 10,00,00 per year with a 10% annual increment. This rising expense places in men's pressure on students and families of leading to financial stream and reliance on education losses loans. Fortunately, the college offers scholarship to the top five neet scorers, providing some relief to those who qualify, however, with limited scholarship opportunities and continuously increasing fees, affordability remains commission concern highlighting the need for broader financial aid initiatives, ensure that talented students can pursue education without excessive financial hardship due to availability of scholarship demand for exceed and supply, leaving many students navigate financial challenges independently , scholarships play pivotal role in elevating the financial burden of medical student and not provide monitors, but also serve as recognition of students and potential in my college scholarships awarded to the top 5 neet scorers

Events organized, and facilities available in the campus

The annual fear her is called avyanna, it takes place each year. Its held in 3 days comprising of different quizes, fun competitions, debate battles, singing and band battles and ends with two artist shows which are really enjoyable and entertaining. The library is filled with over 1000 books and has all the available options for books in each subject. It's filled with research journals and magazines too. It's constantly updated each day.

Students view on faculties and examination of the college

The faculty to student ratio is well balanced, ensuring individual attention. It comprises of HOD, assistant professors,associate professors and multiple tutors. Professors are approachable and students can clarify doubts during lectures, practicals, and even after class. The faculty actively engages in discussions, making learning interactive. Professors in subjects like anatomy , physiology, pharmacology are excellent. The exams conducted are postends- after every posting, internals-first and second, prelims, university exams. Many class tests and formative assessments are all conducted during the period comprising of multiple choice questions.the failure rate is relatively low since college provides ample academic support. The curriculum follows NMC guidelines and integrates both theoretical and practical learning

Admission process and eligibility criteria

The admission process is by NEET score strictly which follows a counselling. I didn't apply for any other colleges as this is the lowest fees private medical college in India. Admission process is pretty smooth, it's just document verification and other things related to that. The counselling takes place in three rounds. The cut off this year was around 620/700. the top five scorers get scholarships ( full waiver of tuition fees)

There are two hostels under smcw, marigold and chamomile hostel. The hostel comprise of 1 common room with tv and refrigerator facilities and ac Room with triple sharing with attached bathroom and washroom Water supply at each floor Mess is clean and hygienic Gym facilities are open every time with good trainers Gaming opportunities at the centre

Admission:

I chose the college for the reviews I'd received from seniors and on comparison with other similar colleges. As compared to other deemed colleges of the country, SMCW is relatively affordable. On coming here I realised the faculty was truly helpful and the exposure in the general was good. Added to this was the infrastructure, the ambience at the campus which makes one feel close to nature at all times and is a serene place to study in. The admission process is via the All India Counselling of NEET UG, regulated by the MCI. The admission is based on merit and the ranks of the students in NEET UG.

Campus is in a good location greenary around with good views sunset and sunrise. All basic amenties are within campus a gym , basketball football court library ,reading rooms , salon ,grocery store.

Admission is through mcc counselling Its a private medical college . They have 10 or 20 seats for NRI too . Admission process was easy . Cut off goes pretty high it was i guess 522 for my batch not sure tho .

Academically its great and provides great opportunities for research.Extra curricular opportunities are also great beyond academics

Admission:

The admissions are done according to the merit list of the NEET exam held every year in the month of may. Anyone who has passed 12th can give this exam. The application forms are usually released 3 monthes prior to exam. There are reservation benefits for SC,ST,OBC etc.

Exploring college

Likes

We have facilities for library, free wifi and the security is also wonderful.
The environment of Pune nice especially around the college
The hostel rooms are fabulous and the infrastructure is just wow.

Dislikes

The main problem I faced is about the transport since the college is little far away from the main city.

Admission:

The admission process includes the main entrance exam I e. NEET. The eligibility criteria for admission is that the student should be a girl as it is a women college, she had passed both 10th and 12th having course of PCB and has qualified NEET. Admission was done via MCC portal only. There only reservation for NRI students.

Likes

Campus is also placed at a very beautiful location, but somewhat far from main city.

Dislikes

The college is very strict regarding attendance.
The college doesn't provide enough holidays. Sometimes it's gets exhausting.

Admission:

The college has high cut off as compared to other college which got established around the same time. For 2023, in the 2nd round of neet counseling, the cut off was over 600 marks. The college doesn't offers any reservations, it has just general and NRI category.

Admission:

The admission process is quite simple it is through all india counselling that happens after neet. You need good score in neet exams to get a seat here like 550. To appear for the counselling you have to fill the form for all india counselling and select the college. When you select private and deemed colleges the price of form becomes 2 lakhs 11 thousands But after allotment of college 2 lakh is refunded in the source bank account and 11 thousand in deducted

Yes, Admission to MBBS at SMCW Pune is strictly based on the score in NEET UG. All MBBS seats at SMCW will be filled by admission counseling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). SMCW Pune offers the Dr. Anandi Gopal Scholarship to 5 Girl Students who top the NEET Merit List and are allocated a seat at the college, waiving off the entire academic fees.

For qualifying for NEET, students have to score a minimum of 50 percentile for UR (unreserved) and 40 percentile for SC (scheduled castes)/ST(scheduled tribes)/OBC (other backward class) category. The final cut-offs will be decided after counseling.
