The beautiful scenes of the college and the opportunities to escape into beautiful locations.
Secondly, the university offers a generous scholarship scheme for meritorious students.
They are very easy to approach and provide good mentorship to the students.

Dislikes

College is having a very bad canteen whose food is not good
The hostel facilities are really poor for both boys and girls
Only core branch got internship help from college which is not so good .all interships are inside state.

A good College for a new start

Likes

Playground for basketball, cricket, badminton, football and basketball.
The Fees is so affordable and I can't thank it any more for the things it provides in that fees.
There are many clubs and so many variations of tech including software and hardware clubs are present.

Dislikes

The college gate and infrastructure especially considering the fact that it is a university
The 1st year hostel which is outside of the campus.
The study sessions it is too harsh for the 1st years.

Placement Experience:

Our college has best placements in Odisha after IIT and NIT to be honest,in terms of alumini network it has one the best,in fact many college students of this college has joined the top mncs and fortune 500 companies after graduation.

Life at OUTR - A student's view

Likes

The Teachers are Good . They try their best for a student to understand particular topic and they also give room for doubts asking
There are lot of laboratories and equipments available which is useful for gaining knowledge in the industry
The seniors and my batchmates are very cooperative and they're approachable.

Dislikes

Very hectic schedule during the time of exams.
Teachers can really put a lot of pressure upon you
Lots of stuffs given for homework. So draining our time.

Placement Experience:

The placements at OUTR (Odisha University of Technology and Research) have been steadily improving, especially in core engineering fields and public sector opportunities. While it may not match the placement records of private institutions like KIIT, OUTR has a growing network of recruiters, particularly in government organizations and companies

The institute is goood in all the academic process which is I observed in my first day of joining at college institute because I arrived at college at 10.00 am which is the perfect timing for joining in same time my all work is completed .
The timing of all the classes are very punctual and understandable ..
The academic section is very good bcoz the staff present in the in the academic section are very useful.

Dislikes

If the classes are held in only one half of the day then it is goood for get some more time to self study
One half means class hold only in first half from 7.00 am to 12.00pm
If the lunch break was extended then there will b a good satisfaction for our 1st year hostel Student

Placement Experience:

The placement is now days in this college is very goood in all the branches especially with IT sector that is branch like computer science and engineering , computer science and engineering specialization with Artificial intelligence and machine learning, Information Technology and ECE . But in case of now days the student range is very high so the institute can't give 100 percent placement but overally the college is very goood in placements .

A tale of a 3rd year student in CET COLLEGE ( now OUTR)

Likes

Academic environment and overall environment is quite silent to have self study
Some of the teachers are very cooperative and shows us the right direction
Girls to Boys ratio is 1:3 and Classes are well ventilated(only fans) excluding considering summer season

Dislikes

Poor interaction of highly qualified teachers with students.
75% attendance is like grabbing throat of a student and violating the fundamental right of Right To Education

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible to sit in campus placements. Asian paints:5 MSIL: 12 Cognizant: 9 TCS: 57 L&T: 11 JK copier: 4 And many more. Highest package: 17 LPA Cognizant Average package: 5.6 LPA 70-80% students are well placed After getting degree I will prepare for GATE entrance in Electrical Engineering and will persue higher studies.

Best option if u r not getting a seat in nits or iiits..

Likes

The college has a good campus size full of greenery..It has a cricket as well as football playground... Badminton court, basketball court is also there..overall sports facilities are good..
Professors are good and helpful..Fests are held..Many clubs are there where u can showcase ur talent..

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not that much developed...hostels are not provided to every student due to inavailability of hostel in the campus..Also to get hostel in second year you need to get a good cgpa as hostel in second year is allotted on basis of CGPA..
A new auditorium and a new hostel is under construction but only god knows when will it be completed..
Very strict attendance system is there..

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are good specially for CSE and related branches..some of the companies which visit for campus placements are Microsoft, Cisco , Amazon..From last three to four years the highest package is around 44 lakhs per annum offered by Microsoft and average package for cse is around 9-10 lakhs..This year 576 offers were made..

I like the green campus , varied research opportunities available in the campus. The sports and ease of transportation to the location is added advantage.
There are also paid e vehicles available in the campus. Morever , the fest and cultural activities , rampant technical activities give an added advantage.

Dislikes

Sometimes the exam schedules are strict. No more dislikes.

Placement Experience:

Placements are praiseworthy here. In my branch , average package is around INR 4 lakhs. There are good opputunities about getting a high paid job due to wide connectivity of the placement cell of the university. Its near 97 to 98 percent placement in all branches every year. My plans are to pursue higher studies since I am more allied to research purpose than industry working.

Likes

The college teacher and faculty are very friendly and the college vc is very supportive .the infrastructure of the college is good and strong.
The college campus is neat and clean.the playground is very big it contains all the sports ground. With a badminton court football, volleyball court etc.
The placement in the college is good .the 90 percent of the students got placement in different companies.the companies offer good amount to the students .the boys girls ratio is three is to one

Dislikes

The college have no specific uniform.students can wear as what they want.so this thing should to be banned.
The college give hostel to some of the few students in first year on the basis of jee main rank.the college should allow all the students to stay in the hostel
The college have high amount in canteen.As it is in the college campus so it should give discount to students but they take more money

Placement Experience:

From the semister the students got good cgpa .and as paer the cgpa the company give offer to the students. There are many companies visit to our college like nalco ,tech Mahindra, Infosys etc. Around 90 percent students get placement in different company. My plan after getting degree to settle and live a happy and healthy life.

The atmosphere is kind of really good like for a college student it's the best atmosphere
This is one of the best Engineering College so far in Odisha
The placements statistics are the great attraction of this University

Dislikes

Strictness is one thing i would dislike but only as a perspective of student faculties are too strict but yes they faculties are of supporting nature

Placement Experience:

Sorry I don't have much idea about the eligibility for on campus placements but yes the companies visiting are too reputed like TCS,L&T and many more that too providing decent packages and specially for civil department it's a great opportunity for applying into government jobs

The environment in our college is quite good for improving the skills and knowledge

The way seniros are behaving to juniors in campus

The Clubs are good like zairza, civicon, sae, etc.
Seniors are very friendly and there is no heirarchical autonomy.

Dislikes

The Attendance Policy is very strict as 75% is mandatory.
In Labs also attendance is very strict nearly 100% is required.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements Various companies like TCS, DELLIOTE, L&T, TATA POWER, TATA ELXSI, CISCO, ASIAN PAINTS, JK PAPER, ACCENTURE, KFINTECH AND many more have offered 576 jobs in the academic year 2023-24 with highest paxkage of 42 LPA. The average package revolves around 5 lpa. I am preparing for GATE as i am more interested in psu jobs.
