UPRTOU Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

UPRTOU Admission

UPRTOU is an open university that provides undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and PhD degrees in various fields through open and distance learning (ODL). It provides admission twice a year for the July session and the January Session.

Admission Procedure

• Mode of Admission: The admission is based on admission for merit or merit-based admission for 2025. Some limited programs like B.Ed. are on the basis of entrance.

• Session: January (twice a year)

• Application mode: Online only

• Application Portal:

• Registration Fee: INR 200 for UG, INR 300 for PG, and varies (in terms of amount and fee) for each course.

Selection Criteria

For the majority of UG, PG, diploma, certificate, and PhD programs, admissions are offered on a merit basis. Marks from the qualifying exam (Class 12 for UG; graduation for PG) are used as a selection criterion. Admission for students selected after form submission and verification of documents will be done upon payment of the course fee.

Entrance Exam

• Organized by: UPRTOU each year (offline).
• Exam Pattern:
  • Objective-type questions
  • Sections include General Knowledge, Teaching Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Language Proficiency.
• Start date for application: Generally from April-June.
• Result Declaration: Generally, within 3-4 weeks after exam website.
• Counselling: Based on UPRTOU B.Ed Entrance Rank and document verification.

How to Apply For the Entrance Exam?

Documents Required

Marksheets from qualifying courses, ID proof, photographs, signature, and Category & Migration Certificat (applicable).

UPRTOU Admission Status

• The application window for UG, PG, Diploma, Certificate & PhD programs is closed.
• The Registration starts from 01 January 2026 (Tentative) for the January session.
• Pay Registration Fees: INR 200 for UG and INR 300 for PG.
• The application has to be completely online through the official portal.

How to Check UPRTOU Admission Status?

Here are the steps to verify your admission status for UPRTOU:

1. Visit @https://uprtouexam.in OR @uprtou.ac.in

2. Under Student Zone, Click on "Admission Status"

3. Enter Application Number / Mobile No. / DOB.

4. Status will show as follows:

Approved - You have secured admission

Pending - Waiting for verification on

Rejected - See remarks or contact the study centre for clarification on rejection.

5. After you have been approved, please download your Enrollment Slip.

Notes

• It's a good idea to keep a copy of your admission form and payment receipt.

Mandatory Fees for Changes to Admission Data

Any inaccuracies in admission data relating to the student's admission can be corrected without incurring a fee before the last day of admission. Thereafter, the following fees will be assessed for various changes:

If not paid online, a demand draft may be forwarded to Finance Officer, Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Prayagraj.

UPRTOU Re-Registration Process

• Purpose: To permit students who either failed to sit the exams or extended their official program duration to continue their studies, minimizing credit loss.

• Eligibility: Students maintaining an active enrollment status with incomplete programs or backlogs.

• Application Dates:

1. January Cycle: November – January
2. July Cycle: May – July

How to Apply?

• Go to @uprtouexam.in or @uprtou.ac.in

• Sign in with Enrollment Number and Mobile Number.

• Complete the Re-Registration Form (select course and subjects)

• Pay fee (INR 500 - INR 1,500) through online or DD to the Finance Officer, UPRTOU, Prayagraj.

• Attach relevant documents and submit.

• Download the confirmation slip and submit it to your study centre.

Students will be able to check the status of their re-registration on the UPRTOU portal - “Check Application / Admission Status.”

UPRTOU Re-Registration Fees

Notes

• The same enrollment number will be retained.
• Students who re-register will need to resubmit assignments and exam forms.
• Fees are non-refundable.
• Students must re-register for a future session before the start of that session.
