The university was created by the ordinance under Uttar Pradesh Govt. It is managed by Jagadguru Rambhandracharya Viklang Shikshan Trust. JRDU offers courses in the fields of English, Hindi, Sociology, Fine Arts, Education, History and Archaeology.
