GU Ph.D. (Automobile Engineering) Admission 2026
Galgotias University conducts a rigorous two-stage admission process for PhD programs to ensure selection of highly motivated and capable researchers. Eligibility Criteria
A candidate with a 2-year (4-semester) master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related fields with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade 'B' on the UGC 10-point scale is eligible to apply.
Candidates with a 4-year (8-semester) bachelor's degree in research with a minimum CGPA of 7.5/10 and qualifications in DBT-BET, ICMR-JRF, GATE, UGC-NET, CSIR-JRF, or ARS-NET are eligible for direct admission.
Candidates with a 1-year (2-semester) master's degree after a 4-year undergraduate degree or 5-year integrated master's degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade 'B' are eligible to apply.
Admission Process
Step 1: Submit online application through the official Galgotias University admissions portal with required documents including educational certificates, GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-JRF scorecard (if applicable), and research proposal outline.
Step 2: Eligible candidates receive notification to appear for the PhD Entrance Test (PET) comprising 50% research methodology questions and 50% discipline-specific questions in automobile engineering.
Step 3: Candidates qualifying the PET with minimum 50% marks are shortlisted for personal interview and research proposal presentation before the University Research Committee.
Step 4: Final selection is based on aggregate performance in entrance test (if applicable), interview, and research proposal evaluation.
