I chose the college because it is a prestigious institute and its in top 10 in NIRF ranking, it also have good placemnt history. The fees is also moderate when compared with other private college with equal standards. I got seats in Vellore Institute of Technology and PSG, I chose my college over others because of it affordability and quality. To get admission here we should write JEE MAINS exam and should have 95 percentile minimum.

The campus is well maintained , with state of the art laboratories, sports facilities, and recreational area.

The gender ratio at Nit Trichy is approximately 23% female to 77%male.
Enhancing counselling services and mental health support can further improve the well being of students.

Admission:

I applied other colleges including a few other Nits such as Nitk , along with a couple of IITs and reputed state engineering colleges. Nit Trichy is known for its strong acedemic heritage , robust placements records , and exvcellent infrastructure. I did face rejections from some of the other colleges i applied to .In my case , a few rejections were primarily due to hoighly competitive nature of these institute .

college life in NIT Trichy

A very beautiful campus life in NIT Trichy , neat and clean classroom with fan and cool water facilities available in lecture hall complex , there is seperate lectures halls for students , here is seperate building for each department .
NIT Trichy has big NSO ground , gym , table tennis court , vollyball , football ground , basketball court , hockey , cricket and indoor games such as chess , carrom etc facilities are also available , and festember , cultural fest program .
There is Central library in which each types of books are available such as engineering , physics , mathematics , chemistry , philosophy , computer science , ethics , political , economics , physiology and many more .

Dislikes

you may face some kind of languages barrier because here is mostly people speak in English or tamil , other languages people are also here but they are less in compare to tamil and english .
The weather is hot normally in every season , you may feel hot environment if you used to live in North where all types season are come and go but here is summer is constant.

There are dozens of things about NIT Trichy which are exceptional but to name the best it has to be the alumni network that our college has.
Civil is indeed one of the oldest branch of the college and therefore its a privilege to study civil engineering from here.

Life at NIT Trichy is really good. You will get to study at one of the best institutes while also get to enjoy the multiple facilities that the institute provides. The course is academics heavy with equal focus on practical learning/. You will have access to library facilities where you will get multiple books. There is a gym and swimming pool where you will able to exercise and stay fit. There is a salon and canteen facilities. You will also have access to unlimited wifi. There are multiple, sports facilities like badminton, tennis, basketball courts, etc. You will also have a TV room in your hostel. The hostel facilities are great and you will share your room with one other student. There is a diverse culture on the campus which will give you exposure.

A close friend of mine shared her experience at NIT Trichy and I have written the answer based on her experience. She called her life at NIT Trichy very meaningful and dynamic. Although she spent merely 2 years during her MTech, she had so much to learn and experience here.

Initially, she was a bit taken aback by the campus as it looked like she had come to a jungle. Soon she became familiar with the hostels and other places and adapted herself to life at NIT Trichy. Luckily she got the best roommates that accelerated her college life experience.

The peer groups comprise students from diverse backgrounds and you get to interact with people with versatile professional backgrounds. Usually, English is the medium of conversation here since South Indians cannot speak Hindi.

Powered vehicles are restricted so students can be found cycling across the huge campus. All basic commodities can be found inside the campus.

Boys aren’t allowed to enter the library and Computer center in capris or shorts. On weekdays, the deadline for girls is 9 pm whereas on weekends it is 9: 30. Those who don’t adhere to the rules are disciplined accordingly.

Additional amenities include a CCD inside the campus, along with many canteens and a mess on the campus.

Usually, the whether here is hot although a few hostels have AC in common halls.

Overall, life at NIT Trichy is full of ups and downs and varies from individual to individual.

North Indians face major language barriers here, especially with shopkeepers, teachers, and peers. They are least interested in learning the language of the locals.
NIT Trichy does not offer any effective treatment for the street dogs that roam inside the campus. You can find dogs everywhere like hostels, canteens, and messes. They should either be sent to the forest authority or should be treated fairly. Many times I have seen dogs die because of malnutrition.
Students hailing from Telangana face major ragging issues.
NIT Trichy has no amusement places nearby where you can hang out with friends.

I hope the administration takes measures against these issues.

The department is old and the curriculum is at par with the top IITs. The faculty is experienced and will guide you throughout the four years of your college. You will get hands-on learning because of the multiple practical projects that are given to the students. The campus of NIT Trichy is just as amazing. You will have hostel facilities as well. Each year the top companies visit our college to recruit the students. The CSE department is one of the departments that get the highest packages. Last year the average package in the CSE departments was 27.27 LPA.

I had this general notion that North Indians are not treated well in the South but it took only a few weeks in NIT Trichy to discard this notion as everyone is treated equally here and you won't find any kind of groupism among students. Events and fests bring students together and you realize no one is treating you equally here and everyone is rather friendly.

My friend told me of an incident wherein South Indians were encouraged to play holi with North Indians and it was a sight of pure cultural bliss. From then, North and South Indians started celebrating every festival like Diwali, Durga Pooja, Ganesh Utsav, or Pongal together. Apart from the students, the professors and the local shopkeepers are very supportive of filling the language gap and using English words.

So, I think being mistreated by South Indians should be your last concern at NIT Trichy.

NIT Trichy offers 10 Bachelor’s, 42 Master’s, and 17 Doctoral programs across 17 academic departments, and among all, BTech remains the most sought-after course. The institute accepts JEE Mains score for admission to this program and the cutoffs are released by the JoSAA counselling. JoSAA releases a total of 6 rounds of cutoff and the other 2 rounds are released by the CSAB counselling.
