There wasn’t a proper moot court room until last week and was built recently, some classrooms have very uncomfortable chairs and tables. But mostly there is no proper tuck shop in campus so we have to cross the highway to go eat. This is dangerous ~ Svastika Amarwanshi, BALLB {Hons.}

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

Intellectual Property law, Humanitarian Law and Administrative law. All which are taught in later years influenced by decision to choose this course. The CRE's are a part of my curriculum and considering the fact that they are a compulsory dummy moot court exercise, their application is quite similar in real world. I believe there could be more practical teachings in the subjects of Sociology and Jurisprudence. The exams is almost every week, usually 45 minutes long. Mid terms were 90 minutes and end semesters were 3 hours long. The difficulty level for subjects like Constitutional law and Contract law is Average to hard while for subjects like Legal Language and Jurisprudence is easy to average.

What are the placement opportunities in the college and highest package?

Usually people are accepted for internships in tier 1 law firms from the third year onwards. Usually students get a pre placement offer or certain companies in their fourth year but campus placements only happen in the fifth year. Around 20-30 companies visit my campus and this year: 43 job offers were received by the graduating batch, 16 received PPO's, and 27 students accepted job offers on day zero. 2 received offers from international firms. The highest package from an Indian law firm was 35lpa. While the highest internationally was 1cr in UK currency. The batch size was 122. I really just want to secure an offer from a top law firm after getting my degree.

Total fees structure of the course and scholarship

The total fees for a first semester student is 153000, this is increased by a ?5000/- per year every semester for the Undergrafute course of 5 years. The Tution fees in NLU Jodhpur is 80000, the admission fee is 12000, the rest is 44000 and the refundable security is 17000. There is no difference in Fee for students of SC/ST/OBC category and the students of general category and all pay an approximate of 300000. There is an NRI category and their fee is 12,00,000 per annum with a refundable security of 17,000. There are multiple scholarships with one being the Aditya Birla Scolarship which is provided by the Aditya Birla foundation to students of the Top 5 nlu with the highest CLAT rank in their particular NLU. There is also the Kotak Kenya Scolarship which is offered to girl children who scored more than 75% in their board examinations and who's household income is less than 15,00,000 per annum. My course is not exactly very affordable but thanks to multiple scholarships schemes, this has been made possible for people belonging to the EWS category

Various events, sports and infrastructure of the college

We have either the annual Cultural festival called NH-65 or the annual sports festival called Yuvardha each year alternatively. The library is pretty accessible and you can avail online library facilities for law journals. Classrooms are equipped with Lights, projector, fans, AC's and charging points. NLUJ is a leader at sports with high end sporting facilities for football, cricket, tennis, carton, volleyball, throw ball and chess. Along with a gymnasium. There are multiple clubs and centres and committees a student can join

What are facilities available in the college hostel?

The room is equipped with a tub light a fan, a desk and chair and multiple charging ports. Other than that there is a balcony in each room. You can have multiple electronic appliances including a cooler/AC as it gets very hot. The mess food is below average, the quality is poor and the menu is boring and average. You get a hostel room allotted when you register in the college. It is affordable I suppose

Faculty and examination pattern of the college

The faculty to student ratio is well balanced as initially the batches do not have many students. My batch has only 136 students which will be increased from next year. Some of the greatest minds like I.P Masssey is a faculty in my college. He changed the administrative law of India and it is still a fangirl moment when we see him on campus. My constitutional law teacher, Ms. Sayantani Bagchi is an excellent teacher with a very genuine passion for her subject and makes the class very engaging . OP Mishra is a good teacher, very well established and respected, but his teaching methods are not well appreciated. He also is very rigid when it comes to giving marks, so majority do fail in the subject of history. We have 3 CA's in the span of the 4 month semester. CA's stand for Continuous Assessments. There are 15 mark each and worth 30% of your final grade. The best of 2 CA's is usually considered and cumulated. Then we either have Mid terms in some subjects while a research paper/ project in other. Mid terms are for 40 marks and are worth 20% of your final grade. The other subjects that have a project or a CRE is also worth 20% of your final grade. Finally, we have the end semester exams of 100 marks which is worth 50% of your final grade. So all of this clubbed together makes up your final grade. The course curriculum is well crafted and quite up to date and relevant

Admission process and eligibility criteria of the college

I got into, NLU Odisha, Symbiosis law school Pune, Jindal Law school, IIM Rohtak for integrated management degree. Initially I studied at NLU Odisha for 2 months before receiving a vacancy from NLU Jodhpur and transferring here in September 2024. I believed that I wanted to do law from an NLU, hence did not opt for Symbiosis. Jindal was a last resort in case I hadn't gotten into a top 10 NLU, while I would have initially preferred to go to IIM Rohtak, by the time I got the call from them, it was already to late. For their semester had began, it was very rigid and rigourours, and being a humanities student, I could not catch up with the engineering level mathematics. You can get an admission in NLU Jodhpur through your CLAT ranking, you need to score a 97 for CLAT as per my year to avail an admission here. Or an AIR from 200-300. You can apply to counselling and float seats for a higher NLU or apply through Vacancy/ NRI

Night Life

The library and all other facilities close by 12 am. You are not allowed to leave the campus grounds after 9pm, if so permission with an overnight pass is required. The hostel and campus does not have any timings as such. The campus is relatively safe but be aware of stray dogs/ monkeys and construction workers. The campus outside is not safe at all as it is away from the main city of Jodhpur and quite literally on a highway

I think my college is situated at one of the remotest but beautiful location which is the best thing about the city Jodhpur. It has beautiful fort named Meherangarh Fort and other places like Mandore Garden, Umaid Bhawan, Jaswant Thada. All these place always makes you feel young and new and thus, the city never makes us feel bored from our hectic college and academic life.

Does NLU, Jodhpur have domicile reservation?

Yes, NLU Jodhpur offers a 25% reservation of seats for the Rajasthan Domicile students. Both UG and PG courses will have reserved seats. The required amendments to the 25% quota in NLU, Jodhpur needs to be done through the university. From this academic session onwards, the institute will provide domicile reservations to the Rajasthan students.

NLU Jodhpur offers two UG degrees, i.e BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons). The total student intake for the undergraduate programs is 115. Out of the total seats, 15 seats are reserved for Foreign national students.

In postgraduate, NLU Jodhpur offers LLM and MBA. The LLM program has a student intake of 80. The MBA program has two specializations, i.e. Insurance and Insurance Risk Management. The student intake for these specializations is 20 and 15 respectively.

D.Lit. is a 3 year duration course. The first year fee is INR 95 thousand. The second and third year fees are the same INR 50 thousand. The eligibility is to complete PhD or equivalent course.
