NLU Jodhpur Signs MoU with University of Sydney; Major Changes to Improve Student’s Academic Exposure

National Law University Jodhpur (NLUJ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Sydney Law School, Australia. The MoU was signed in October 2024 to increase academic cooperation between the institutions.

Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Vice Chancellor, NLUJ signed the MoU during her visit as Professor under the Elizabeth Evatt Distinguished Professor Fellowship at Sydney Law School, Australia. The MoU was signed by Prof. Harpreet Kaur and Prof. Rita Shackel, Interim Head of School and Dean/ Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Sydney Law School.

Prof. Kaur believes it is an important step to widen NLUJ’s education at international level and maintain strong ties with Australia’s leading universities. Through this MoU, NLUJ will be able to expand its global reach and increase its research capacities.

Major Changes for Cooperation

  • The institutions will organise academic events as organising joint conferences, short courses, and seminars to promote research and academic exchange.
  • The agreement will focus on co-publishing articles and conducting joint research.
  • The MoU will create opportunities for NLUJ and Sydney Law School students to participate in higher degree research.
  • The partnership will promote teaching, training, and research cooperation through faculty exchange.

The MoU agreement with the University of Sydney will impact NLUJ’s global standing and will offer its students and faculty greater exposure to international academic standards.
