Gauhati University MBA Admission 2026 GD/PI Shortlist Out; Interviews on June 4 & 5

Gauhati University has released the shortlist for Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) rounds for MBA admission 2026-27. The GD & PI will be conducted on June 4 & 5, 2026, at the Department of Business Administration, Gauhati University. A total of 220 candidates have been shortlisted based on their performance in the written test held on April 26, 2026, and valid scores from MAT, CAT, CMAT, XAT, or other national-level MBA entrance tests with 75 percentile or above.

The shortlisted candidates have been divided into 20 groups (A through T) with staggered reporting times and GD/PI schedules across both days. Candidates must report at their designated time slots on their respective dates; failure to report at the stipulated time may lead to disqualification. All shortlisted candidates must bring original testimonials from matriculation onwards and submit any pending graduation marksheets or caste certificates during the GD/PI rounds.

Gauhati University MBA Admission 2026 Important Dates

Group Discussion (GD) evaluates communication skills, leadership qualities, teamwork, and logical thinking abilities. Personal Interview (PI) assesses academic background, work experience, motivation for MBA, and overall fit with the program. The university will notify a suggestive list of GD topics on the official website before the rounds commence.

Gauhati University MBA Admission 2026 Group-Wise Schedule and Reporting Times

Candidates are divided into 20 groups with specific reporting times and GD/PI start times. Groups A through F are scheduled on June 4, 2026, with morning batches reporting at 9:00 AM. Groups G through J are scheduled on June 4 afternoon with 12:00 PM reporting time. Groups K through T are scheduled on June 5, 2026, with morning and afternoon batches having similar reporting time patterns.

Gauhati University MBA Admission 2026 Essential Documents Required for GD & PI

Candidates must carry original testimonials from matriculation onwards for verification purposes. Graduation marksheets (all semesters) and caste certificates must be brought if not already submitted. Valid photo identification, admit card, and any other relevant certificates should be carried to the venue. Photocopies of all documents should also be brought as backup for verification.

Effective GD preparation requires staying updated with current affairs and trending topics in business and society. Read newspapers, editorials, and business publications daily to build comprehensive knowledge. Practice mock group discussions with peers or mentors to develop articulation skills and learn active listening while contributing meaningfully to discussions.
