The Unreal GLC

Student view on course curriculum and exams

The curriculum is well prepared and helps you grow in life as it revolves around the basics in the start which escalates with the related topics later. The course curriculum gives us a proper real-life implication teaching as we learn about different analyzing subjects. The teaching method and course curriculum is very upto the mark as many learned professors and also advocates, justices come to the college to teach is about different topics. As the course only has semester exams. The exam is lengthy where you have to write around 30-35 pages for 75 marks paper in 150 minutes. The difficulty level is moderate but it becomes difficult as we have less time to cover the exam.

Placement provided by the college and highest package

Students are eligible for campus placements after their 3rd year of 5 year course of 1st year of 3 year course. The highest package offered is 5 lakh and average is 50,000/- to 100,000/-. 10% of the total students in college get placed through this process of placements. My plan is to start interning after my 1st year and look in for opportunities in every field. I would want to get a PPO that is Pre-Placement Offer which is usually difficult.

Total fees of the course

Tuition fee is minimal as it is a government college. The total cost of my fees was 12800/- as it was government self-finance. But for the people who are paying fees through government aided it is 6000/-. There are different categories for the student based upon the caste or any type of other reservation through which they'll have to pay lesser amount.

Annual fest and various activity in the campus

The Annual Cultural Fest that is 'ZANKAAR' is held in after the first semester exams. There is wide range of books and journals available in the college library which includes the first constitution published as well. The authenticity of library is well maintained and updated. Each classroom is provided with projectors and a few AC classrooms are also there in the college. The atmosphere of the classroom is mostly airy. There are different sports being played and participated in through college which includes GNLU, NLUJ, IITB, etc. The teams never fail to bring in an award home and are always open to having more players in the team. There is a student-run social group which is affiliated by college which goes in for beach clean-ups, and provide TFI services.

Hostel facilities provided by the college

Madame Cama hostel is one of the better hostels comparing all the options nearby. The hostel is affordable and clean. Room in the hostel is being provided with light, fan, a bed, a mattress, a desk, a cupboard and a side table. The meal quality is very bad and there are hygiene issues with the meal being provided. We are supposed to pay them on a regular daily basis. Hostel registration process is to first fill in a form in college with principal and staff signature and later the hostel is accommodated on the merit basis. It is affordable as the fees is 10800/- in the location like Churchgate.

Admission process of the college

A student is eligible for the course if they have passed their 12th grade from any of the fields. Application form, fees and dates are all available on the MHT-CET website or online platform. The exam is of 150 marks with time limit of 120 minutes. It is easy to prepare and crack if the person is focused well.

Also the proximity of Bombay High court from Government law College is few meters distance. Then you also get to intern under the advocates practicing in Bombay High court.
