Well location is such that your neighbour is Marine drive.
Just 2 minutes walking from the main line Church Gate Station.
A special girls quota is there in our college and therefore there are more girls in our college than the boys.

Campus is not just miniscule but you put one step and the other will be still off campus.

Trilegal, JSA, AZB, Tatva Legal and various other law firms from Mumbai itself offers us jobs worth 10 to 20 lakhs. In a cours where only a few colleges have placements ours is one of those. It has tie-ups with many lawyers and firms whichbare into litigation or arbitration.
We can intern almost anytime in th year with no issues.
The attendance is not at all strict and students are free to do what they want.
Bombay High Court is only 10 mins away and most top law firms are near it. This allows to attend college while also iterning.
Dislikes
Theres no campus, or interaction even among the batchmates or seniors as all of us have different class timings.
The syllabus is outdated and we dont get to study the subjects of law until Third Year.
The faculty is incompetent and not at all cooperative. They either teach terribly bad or dont come college.
Placement Experience:
We have a dedicated placement committee.
The average package is 10-15 lakhs and the highest is 24 lakhs. The lowest go to 8-10 lakhs.
The placement rate is around 96%.
All the top firms like AZB, Cyril Amarchand, Trilegal, etc come to our college.
I am going to prepare the Solicitors exam.
Alumni network and good placement as the placement committee is very active
Great Legacy of being first law college in Asia
Location near High Court of Bombay , easy access to law firms
Dislikes
College bureaucracy is a hassle and office work takes time
exams are delayed often and internal exams are also delayed
infrastructure is lacking and college is constricted in size
Placement Experience:
Great placement is you are getting into coporate law as all the major firms are near by. AVERAGE salary is 800000 and could go up to 1400000 . If you plan on litigation as career placements are still good.
The placement cell provides internship opportunities to the students.
The committees of Government law College are very active and helps us to think, learn new things and also helps in making connections with people who are excellent in their respective field.
Dislikes
I think the attendance system should be strict. As it will mandate students to attend college.
Placement Experience:
I don't know the real data but there are students who are placed via Placement committee of GLC. Students are placed in good firms. Also, the employability is quite high as compared to other Law colleges.
Freedom, At glc you are pretty much free to do anything, internships, courses, CA&CS or competitions etc.
Crowd, The crowd at glc can be mixed but i have found my people and that is very helpful
Location, GLC is very close to the highcourt and also in the commercial heart of the city.
Dislikes
Professors, A lot of them are incompetent and do not care about students.
Campus, There's only one building with no ACs.
Student Committees, Student committees are very active and conducts a number of competitions
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is extremely outdated.
While NLU students are learning about law in thier first year itself, we have to wait till 3rd year for the same thing.
A lot of students end up learning more at internships rather than at college
The faculty is extremely easy going with the students
The library provides a peaceful studying place for the students
The different committees set up for different legal and student aid.
Dislikes
The online website related and notices related matters where the administration could be more vigilant.
Course Curriculum Overview:
There could be better attention to detail by the Uniby of Mumbai and the College based on the professional conduct and ethics . There should be a course which should be compulsory to every student for understanding the basics of a litigation and corporate firms/advocacy.
The location of Government law college is an excellent factor as anyone can reach the college easily from either chhatrapati shivaji maharaj terminus or churchgate station
A wide array of committees that organise events, competitions, seminars etc from time to time and help immensely to the character and skill development of students of Government law college
Dislikes
The food at the canteen is not the best, although very affordable, it often seems too oily or not appetizing enough
Lack of a proper campus, only the building of the college stands with its unmatched legacy but there is nothing in the name of a ground or campus. The college terrace is occasionally used as a ground got sport events organised by the cultural committ
Students may face difficulties interacting with the college administration especially the college staff as they are not very co-operative sometimes. There are no proper and prompt notifications about results
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is set by law department of Mumbai University. This decision has positive and negative aspects as every law college under Mumbai University has a uniform syllabus, same date of examination and same paper, this helps in collaborating to study together with other law college students as well lectures on YouTube are easily available for revision. However syllabus set by Mumbai University is often outdated and lacks new topics in legal field.
The college has a great faculty members who are highly qualified in the subjects. All the subjects are taught very well and even the notes of the particular subjects are provided by the professors which is highly helpful for the students.
The college has a lot of committees and students can join the committees based on their interests.
The location of the college is suitable for travelling.
Dislikes
The college canteen is not so hygienic as it should be.
The washrooms are not hygienic and could be better.
The schedule of the lectures is not followed properly
Placement Experience:
The college has a placement committee to look after the placement of the students. For the students upto 4th year, the placement committee keeps the students updated about all the internship opportunities that we could get.
The campus life here is good as there are many active clubs here.
There are regular events scheduled by each and every club. There are regular moots, MUNs, and Debates within the college.
There is active participation of students in Inter-MUNs, Inter-Moots and Inter-Debates and all the sports events being comducted in and outside the cities. The students are enthusiastic and staff is supportive.
Dislikes
The campus is very short. It would be better if the college had a little more space.
The placement committee has good companies but the reach is low.
Students are not getting recruited through the college as there is low placement rate from college side.
Placement Experience:
Students are eligible for campus placements after their 3rd year of 5 year course of 1st year of 3 year course. The highest package offered is 5 lakh and average is 50,000/- to 100,000/-. 10% of the total students in college get placed through this process of placements. My plan is to start interning after my 1st year and look in for opportunities in every field. I would want to get a PPO that is Pre-Placement Offer which is usually difficult.
Glc faculties is very educated and very intelligent you can ask freely what's your doubt and they will definitely solve your problem solution
In glc new library established in 2023 and this library is very Posh and clean
