Amazing PAU

Likes

Amazing infrastructure and curricular . Best hostel food anyone can have . Veg-nonveg food provided . Nonveg thrice a week.
Based on the american system of education . Provides training in the 4th year of degree . Asia's on of the best agricultural University .
Best faculty of each and every college . PAU includes 5 colleges and campus ocer 1500acers provinding place for practical work at its own farms .

Dislikes

Hostels are not up to the mark and dont hacve air conditioning
Tiring schedule each semester includes 3 time exams and practicals .
Being govt university its hard to get and official work done .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Courses are generally classifies as credit hours 2+1 incudes 2 theory and one practical class per week . There are 3+1 and 1+1 and 1 creadit hour courses also . On average 9 courses per sem . Passing marks 55% of each course . Exams are cery frequent hourls 20 marks with full half weightage starts at 5 th week from new sem , mid semetsers , practicals , end terms of 70 marks with half weightage . Impresssive teaching methods . Smart class rooms and well equiped practical classes

Honest review of Punjab agricultural University (Asia's largest agricultural University)

Likes

This university is so big and beautiful from outside. A lot of greenery . It connects you with the nature

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the university is poor. No proper lab equipments that are mentioned in our course. Fees is too high according to the things they provide.
No AC's in summer. No generators in hostel. Poor sanitation and poor hygiene practices in Food Tech department. Washrooms are not even well maintained. Practicals are not performed in proper manner.
Most of the practicals are performed by just showing us the youtube video. This university just looks preetier on the outside but inside it is worst. Fees is too hight without any internships and placements.

Poor. Practical knowledge is not proper. Theory classes are not taken by some teachers properly. We just have to study ourselves. Fees is too high and knowledge that we gain comparative to the fees is very less.

PAU overview

Likes

Faculty is great teachers are so friendly and helpful
Overall study is good campus is good and big
Courses are good and many practical courses are there

Dislikes

No air conditioning in classes too hot and humid
Attendance issues are there minimum requirements are often not met
Many extra activities in University often strikes and holidays happen

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible after 6th sem for placements Various agribusiness companies offers jobs and moreover plenty of govt jobs Highest package as per my knowledge is around 1cr Almost 100% placements are their I'll be focusing on entrepreneurship

Reality

Likes

Staff is excellent , cooperative & inteligent .
Hostels are in good condition and mess is good.
Field work is excellent and hospital facilities are available

Dislikes

Academic staff is very poor. They just do the work they want otherwise they don't.
Academic branch is not helpful to students. They show their ego while working.
Some things are very much expensive in University.

By Idea of going abroad and settle down in foreign country, I took this course. But Know I kinda regret it because there is very less scope of this course in India and My parents are not allowing me to go abroad.

Greatest Agricultural University

Likes

Great faculty, all the teaching staff has the phd qualifications
best in academics, try to impart full knowledge of that particular subject in the students
Biggest campus you'll ever witness in the whole of India

Dislikes

Lesser focus on co-curricular activities and development of same
Not such a student friendly place, you have to be on your for nearly everything
a lot of subjects in each sem (9 to 10 average) for all the graduation courses they offer

The courses prescribed and the subjects in those courses are the most practically oriented such as they provide you a wide knowledge about the topic and it's application in the real world, the only thing is that the no. of subjects are considerably more such as 8-9 in a single semester

Likes

This university has huge campus area with lot of greenary including trees etc
Well developed infrastructure and other faciltiies

Dislikes

This is a government university hence working is slow for a single piece of work you have to go to that teacher or professor for many times
Vehicles are allowed in campus which creates nuisance by vehicles

Course Curriculum Overview:

Basically, I belong to a rural agriculture background family due to which I want to know more about these crops how they are grown, and how they can be produced more efficiently to fulfill demand for food for the country.

Course curriculum was vast and filled with deep knowledge and practical aspect was also involved. It was completed based on day to day practicals. All the teachers are supportive and well educated. The exams are held in thre stages first hourly then second time mid term and then end term and practical. Both practical and theory exams have to be passed separately and all the four exams are added to get final results. Strict marking and checking of exams

It's good but not very good

Placement Experience:

For 3 years students get eligible for campus placements every year few members of the group come to give students either internship or a full package. Very few only one or two they didn't visit till now The highest is 9 lakh and the average is 40000 Only 78 % get placements I want to apply for a government job

Review of Punjab Agricultural University

Placement Experience:

Students are applying for placements in the last semester and they are informed about companies through mail by placement cell. Highest package is 6.5 lacs per annum and average is 3 lacs per annum. Around 50% of the students gets placed. After degree I will try for government job in agriculture field.
