Remarks

Admission is totally based on the ICAR UG examination. You have to score 350+ score out of 600 in the exam to be eligible for applying for this college. I was admitted in this course through the general quota. Counseling is conducted online by ICAR itself where if your marks reach the required limit you can apply for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because agriculture has vast future prospects and industrial applications. PAU is one of the leading colleges in India for pursuing agriculture as a career. Here faculty and student ratio is 1:50. All faculty members in our college are well-qualified and they focus on research culture than normal lecture-based teaching. The course curriculum is revised when it's required. The course curriculum was last revised in 2016 to reach the advances in industries. There is a specially appointed mentor for a group of every 5 students. Semester exams are taken two times in a year and the passing percentage is 50%.

Placement Experience

Most placements are provided in the farm sectors by tractor and machinery manufacturers like John Deere, Escorts, Mahindra Agri etc. Almost 40% of students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA. Very less students opt to do internships in farm sector companies. Most of the students prefer industrial training.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is higher than other ICAR accredited agricultural universities to be honest. In my course, fees are appx. Rs. 130000 per year. Hostel and food charges are separately taken. I am a day scholar student so can't tell about hostel charges. Students who are from outside Punjab and admitted through ICAR get Rs. 3000 scholarship per month. Faculty members also give financial assistance to poor but meritorious students.

Campus Life

Lots of events, fests are held in our university campus throughout the year. Library provides a wide number of books and is packed with all relevant journals, materials. Classrooms are old and maintenance should be advanced. Wi-Fi facility is available at few and specific locations. Sports facilities are awesome as our university provides football ground, athletes track, swimming pool, basketball court, cycling velodrome etc. There is a special hospital with 3-4 doctors for medical assurance.

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is good and it is improving since then. TPO looks after this process and it is responsible to call comapnies to the college and discuss about the eligibility of the students who can appear for the placements. For internships, students in the 3rd year appear for it while for placements 4th year students can appear. The average package is approx. 8-9 LPA while the highest has gone to 64 LPA during my college duration. Almost all students get placement.

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

Placement Experience:

College does provide a decent number of companies to students to get placed but as per seniors Companies come with good package but students fail to grab them. Students are eligible for placement form 7th semester. As data given to us from t&p for this year currently the minimum package is 6 lpa and average is touching 8 but don't get excited it's just the starting months of placement season. My plan is to get a good college for post grad as that was my plan from the start ??

Placement Experience:

Students became eligible for placement after 3rd year. Google, Adobe, de shaw, L&T, Schneider, Amazon etc visit campus The highest package was 42 lacs and the median package is 8.1 lacs. More than 90% get placed.

degree experience

well to be honest I have not applied to any other college as i just want do bsc agriculture in this university. but due to my rank i was unable to selected for takinf admission in bsc agriculture. so i preferred this degree over it as due to update academic ( bsc horticulture & forestry consider same as bsc agriculture) which help in making eligible for giving paper of ADO( agriculture development officer) . As to take admission in this university under this degree first u have to give paper CET( common entrance test) on the basis of number optain ranking is given( in this test 11th & 12 th syllabus comes , mcqs. Omr sheets have to be filled at the time of paper. well cuts goes near about 600 rank from 250 on ward as 2-3 councilling are conducted. well my experience about the admission was not so good as i got admission in this program in 3rd councelling....Read More

Punjab Agricultural University is a rollercoster ride while studying at its best
