USTM Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Basically before competition of the course the officers will come from different NGOs and organisation and offices to take the students some brilliant student get the placement and others are join NGOs and other government jobs

Curriculum is quite hectic as we have to visit agencies, attend programs like orientation programs as a field work and also submit the Reports every week. Two days are fieldwork day every week - friday and Saturday but it changes for some semesters

The academic and curriculum are pretty good and very diverse. We the students get opportunities to get into the real world situation where everyweek we have to go for field work without supervision by our faculty. In which we have to deal community base practice and agency base practice. This is where the real opportunity is provided. We should look for solutions by our own self. Eventually, we have to write a mandatory report after every two successful fieldwork and if we are to be absent we have to compensate for absent days. The students also get an opportunity to participate in the rural camp which is basically a practical basis with duration of six days where we the students along with faculties have to go for rural camp which maybe community base or agency base so it is so much experiencing and very helpful in our academics. The rural camp are provided to the only last year students of both bachelor's and master's. The timing of the exam is abit tide. Time is all that matters when there is no time for the academic year the sessional exam takes plays continuesly for about 1week

The campus placements are for the last year students. There are various company that visited into our college. Atmost i heard the avg package is 6 lpa or 4 . 80% students get placed. My plans are for to seat for the campus placement or for off campus placement .

Course curriculum is a bit lengthy but interested in microbiology we have subjects like fundamental of microbiology application of microbiology for example medical microbiology and industrial microbiology then we have mammalian physiology and biochemistry too

Helped in my preparation for upsc. Exams were held within a gap of 1.5 month. My course name was administration and governance so helped me in a lot of further administrative line of work in future. Teaching methods are good

When I was in class 12 I want to know about the cells and many microbes that's why i choose the course. The faculty give us some projects to do and they encourage us to participate in many types of competitions. They celebrate every year microbiology day.

I would give a 6.5 on 10 for the course that I'm pursuing. Coz it's nice and I'm liking. But I think they should concentrate more on our practical knowledge. Because it's totally a applied course. In most of our practical classes, we are not able to perform the practicals in a proper manner. Because the faculty obmy explains the protocal, and the rest we have to do it on our own. Atleast they should have firstly showed us how should we perform, then we can understand better

The placement are diverse and comes with packages ranging from 3 lakhs to 10lakhs based on your capability. Some companies which offers placement are Infosys, Microsoft etc. The students getting placements are normally of high percentages such a 85%+ and also have exceptional problem solving ability. My plans after getting my undergraduate degree is to pursue a master degree in English literature, preferably outside the country.
