A Comprehensive Journey through SSBF Pune: Academics, Campus Life and Growth Opportunities

Likes

The campus feels vibrant and supportive, with lots of activities and chances to get involved. The faculty are knowledgeable, approachable, and always up for helping out with guidance or mentorship.
Placements are a real plus-there's a good mix of finance companies and roles, and the placement cell puts in a lot of effort. The average package is strong, and almost everyone gets placed.
The course is regularly updated, very industry-relevant, and helps build both technical and soft skills needed for a BFSI Sector with a modern library, Bloomberg terminals, and lively common areas for both study and socializing.

Dislikes

The distance between hostels and campus can be tiring, so improving transport facilities could make campus life more convenient.

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college are very diverse with numerous roles in finance. Since this is a niche course, we go in depth in finance which further helps us further as well. There are a number of companies which come to college for placements which are mainly focused in finance.

Curriculum is interesting and intriguing, helping us prepare better for the professional financial world.
The internship and placement opportunities help students find the right career options.
The program structure provides us with general courses as well as specialization courses that help students improve their skills and knowledge.

Dislikes

Placement Experience:

SSBF provides us with great internship and placement opportunities at leading financial corporates in the country. These opportunites help us interact with working professionals and learn from them. Highest package offered is 21 lakhs while the average packages offered at placements is 11 lakhs. 100% of the eligible students get placed in top leading firms of the country.

Mix of engaging academics, vibrant social activities and good campus life

Likes

The Symbiosis brand provides a strong industry recognition and connect which helps student to enter the industries of their choice with ease. They provide us with multiple guest lectures from industry experts which helps students network.
The campus is extremely clean, with good safety, along with digital classrooms, libraries and Wi-Fi in hostels as well as any part of the campus for students to be able to access the internet.
Placement support is robust and they try to bring in the top companies from the BFSI sector with an average CTC of about 11 LPA. They also provide Summer internships for the students to gain industry experience before they actually enter the industry

Dislikes

Acad block is pretty far from the hostels, which makes it a tedious walk during the monsoon season considering the rains in the hilltop, however if you like walking, it can be something you like and not dislike.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for the campus placement from the 3rd semester onwards, after the first year and the internship that the students complete in the summer. The highest package received was from The Federal bank with a package of 22LPA and the avergae package offered is about 11LPA. 100% of the students get placed from SSBF.

Life at SSBF

The immersive campus experience - The college is in campus with other Symbiosis colleges so you get to interact with students from other colleges as well. We can participate in their events and they can in ours also.

Placement Experience:

The average placements of this college sits at 11Lacs. The placements opportunities offered are decent. Many companies from BFSI sector come with various roles like credit rating analyst, GF and BM analyst, Investment research analyst etc. Companies like CRISL, BNY, JP Morgan, Bajaj Allianz Insurance, Sowillo Investments , 100% of the eliguible students are placed every year. The placmnets are in the diverse profile like protfolio managament, Equity Research,operations, Finanacial Planning,Business Development.

College Life in SSBF

Likes

The college life is really great, their are great people here and their is a lot of networking that happens here. The campus is really good located on the hill top
Their are 51% females and 49% males which is a good diversity of students. The placement committee is really helpful and good and does a lot for the college
The curriculum is very good anyone who wants to pursue finance and banking this is one of the best colleges in India. Their are a lot of guest lectures

Dislikes

The mess food is really average, they should improve the quality of food and keep more variety in the menu

Course Curriculum Overview:

The couse curriculum is the best at ssbf. There is no better course in banking and finance in India better than this. All the subjects are really good and are industry oriented. We get to learn a lot from this college.

SSBF : An interesting Review

Likes

I liked the course structure being followed at SSBF, where the syllabus is up to date to current BFSI developments taking place in India
I liked the batch size of the course, a batch size of 150 makes sure that each and every students gets equal opportunities.

Dislikes

I dislike the lack of practical learning in the course structure

Placement Experience:

The placements at SSBF are exceptional when it comes to the kind of roles that are being offered to students, for internships the roles range from finance intern to investment banking intern and many more, whereas for final placements the roles are focused towards treasury, risk management. The key recruiters are JPMC, BNY MELLON , CRISIL and many more

The Life of A SCMC Student

Likes

SCMC provides a very practical way to knowledge wherein students are given the ability to work their creative minds and come out with ideas.
SCMC has a good infrastructure with Library, a canteen, mess for the hostel students, Screening rooms and an impressive focus on the co curricular activities.
The staff and teaching faculty at SCMC are top notch with teachers who have had immense knowledge and experience in their fields and who provide assignments that make kids think outside the box and figure out a good way to solve questions.

Dislikes

The campus can be a bit bigger. As the whole campus includes three different colleges excluding SCMC, I think it would have been better if the campus were a bit bigger.
The oppurtunities to go to inter college events through the college are really less and I would have appreciated a little more attention on this aspect from the college and the faculty.
The number of holidays that are given should be increased as it's almost impossible to go back home if you are not from Pune except for when it's a festival.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from Semester 6. There are numerous companies like Zomato, The Quint, Hindu etc that visit the campus and whose offers are made for the students. The highest package offered has been INR 7 lacs per annum and the Average package is INR 3.60 Lacs per annum. The campus placements has been 85% based on the number of students that opted for it. My plans after getting my degree is to go ahead for my masters in either creative writing or marketing and then start working on a job but this may change.

SLS Pune gives the best experience!!

Likes

Our college hasn't just produced lawyers but some of them have gone on to become judges as well.
Many judges come for our felicitation and award medal to top students.
Internships in top law firms be it Trilegal or Khaitan our college has a quota in those.

Dislikes

Very small campus and I wish our campus to be relocated in Lavale.

Placement Experience:

First and foremost the Infosys and the IT companies of Pune and then it were the auto companies and finally it happened that law firms too started coming and our college is now the second highest law college package providers in country just behind NLSIU.

The curriculum is highly in line with the industry, with high focus on practical skills.
There are numerous committees which allows students to have their social life and also give life learnings.
The faculty members are highly supportive and are always open for discussions.

The details of placement are given on the website. Every year new companies are coming for recruitment in FMCG, BFSI, Consulting, Energy & Environment sector. Almost all the students do get placed. The highest offered was around 24 lakh.

SLS Pune is run systematically!!

Probably the only college which has its internships tie-ups with best law firms like the Khaitan & co, and The Maheshwari & co, among others.
The only college where even after a batch size of 500, nearly half the students are placed.
Definitely the only college where students are assisted to study abroad for further studies.

Dislikes

Ahead of NLUs in many aspects but campus size as our campus is quite tiny.

Placement Experience:

Khaitan is the top one as they are in 6 cities of India now and they are increasing the workforce every year. It's SLS Pune which is adding to their maximum work force. Average salary offered is 60-90k a year and for a lawyer initially having that kind of salary is a dream.
