04 Nov, 2025 NIRF Ranking 2025 has been released on September 4, 2025. SIU Pune secured the following positions:

#40 out of 200 under “Overall Category”

#24 out of 200 universities under “Overall University Category”

#46 out of 300 colleges under “Engineering Category”

Symbiosis International University, Pune is one of the top Universities in Maharashtra. It has been ranked by various important agencies of national as well as the international level such as NIRF, Outlook, QS, etc. According to the NIRF Rankings 2022, Symbiosis International University has secured the 61st position for Overall Category. The NIRF ranking of the institute has been continuously improving. The University has made a better performance in its NIRF rankings this year which has comparatively risen to that of the previous ones. Apart from these, SIU is also ranked by various other ranking agencies such as Outlook, QS, etc.

SIU NIRF Ranking 2022

The National Institutional Ranking Framework or NIRF is a Government ranking agency, established in 2015. It ranks all the institutes in India category-wise and the overall ranking category. Symbiosis International University has been ranked at the 32nd position among the top universities in India. Symbiosis Law School, Pune 3rd in the Law category, and Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM Pune) 17th in the Management category. The rankings aim to help prospective students identify the world's leading schools in their chosen field in response to the high demand for subject-level comparisons. Symbiosis International University has been ranked in the 291–300 band in Asia in the year 2020 and 109 among BRICS nations in 2019.

Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India to systematically rank all major higher educational institutions and universities in India on indicators related to “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development” amongst students and faculties. SIT is best engineering college of Pune!!

Likes

Small but fully equipped campus as our campus has probably everything that an engineering college should possess.
We have two high tech labs and there we have industry sponsored teaching.
Our faculties literally strikes terror with their teaching as they are outstanding.

Dislikes

In comparison to other campuses of Symbiosis ours is small and has just a few sports facilities.
We also don't have in campus hostels which most Symbiosis campus otherwise has.

It's the tech companies like Infosys who have now setup their majority of work in the Pune is where 40 students of our college were sent for intenrships. Stipend as good as 25000 was paid and advanced AI tools and machine jobs were given to us during that intenrships.

PG Life at SSBF

Likes

The serene surrounding of flora and fauna, hill top campus and the environment around me.
The amenities provided by the institute like gym, library, swimming pool , table tennis court, basketball court, pool tables, football court etc.

Dislikes

The distance to Pune city is too much, city life is missing here.

Internships Opportunities:

Companies for internships were JPMC, CRISIL, BNY, CAGR, Taurus Mutual Fund, Home First, Kaima Assets, Sowilo, RXIL & many more... The higest stipend was 75000pm and average was at 21000pm. The roles offered are equity research, wealth management, research analyst, portfolio manager, credit analyst, client service, Sales and business development, operations etc...

I have done my internship at national stock exchange of india limited where i had worked on project - benhcmarking of domestic and global stock exchanges a comparative study on financial position, permance and operational ressilience.

Specialized and Relevant Curriculum - The focus on core finance subject in the first year, combined with pratical exposure through project and guest lectures.
Faculty Expertise - Many Professors have extensive experience in banking and finance service industry, which allows them to provide valuable real world expertise.
Strong Infrastructure and Campus life - The Campus is generally well regarded for its modern and clean infrastructure, the campus life is vibrant and engaging. the Boys to Girls is 51:49

Dislikes

Heavy workload - The Academic rigour of the program can lead to a very demanding workload, tight schedule with numerous assignments and presentations make it a challenging experience
Remote Campus Location - The Campus is located in Lavale which is in outskirts of pune so sometimes some services may not be available as per needs of students
Food Quality of Mess - Sometimes the quality of food in mess can be a disappointing experience.

Internships Opportunities:

Companies like JP Morgan chase and co. , BNY mellon , CRISIL have already arrived for summer internship opportunity at SSBF while other big companies are set to visit the campus in few days. Roles offered are of Credit Analyst, Financial Analyst and Investment Banking trainee, Management trainee etc

the infrastructure of college is really good and all the resources are easily made available in the campus itself
the college encourages a lot of extracurricular involvement of each an student and ensures real life competitive world participation
has broad committees in the college for every student to participate which teaches many things apart from the syllabus

Dislikes

the mess food is just tolerable and not that tasty

the internship process is fair . a large pool of companies of all kind of companies and various roles for the students to apply. some companies give stipend to students where as the college also gets companies that provide pre placement offers as well.

Truth Behind SSBF

The Committee work in this college is filled with learnings and exposure, There are total 20 number of different committee, where we can learn alot and gain experience in the college.
The Environment in the college is perfect, it is a dream place for any individual where the entire campus is filled with the mountains and clouds and serene
The Exposure in the guest lectures is one of the best thing in the college, from each and every different fielf in finance the guest help us to share there experience in the college from there real life experiences and challenges.

Dislikes

one of the thing that I dislike is quite paradoxical as the whether is so seren, it gets difficult to focus on studies some times.
Another major thing that we haave a issue is that we get so much busy in our co curriculum and assignments in our college that it might get difficult to focus some to focus on our personal professional degrees
The college environment and the entire friends group and the faculties are so sweet that we get too much focused on our studies besides our personal lives

Internships Opportunities:

There is vast opportuinity in the college regarding the finance backgroun, it also focuses in the different job roles such as m equity research analyst, mutual Funds , Portfolio Mangement , Budget planning and financial planning, the different companies that come to our campus are- CRISIL JP Morgan chase BNY Kaima Assets. My Experience at SSBF

Likes

Another thing which I liked the most is the rigorous curriculum designed for specifically banking and finance students plus the active participation criteria of the college in the committees which keeps the hobbies of the students intact.
Third positive thin which I would point out is the industry experts who visits us during the guest sessions. It basically bridges the gap between classroom learning and the industry practicality of the way that work is being done.
The ideal Girl to Boy ratio in SSBF is 51:49

Dislikes

I personally disliked the mismanagement of the deadlines that the college provides us which is now being taken care of under the supervision of Director maam.
I also dislike the quality of the mess food in our campus which is becoming worse day by day

Internships Opportunities:

The internship oppertunities available with the college includes : internship with JP morgan chase and co. And the role was of analyst with the monthly stripend 60,000 rupees. BNY also came with middle office role and offered 35,000 rupees as monthly stripend. there were more companies which visited for internships : Fulora, taksh asset, fundsmart, RRR Investments, Kaima assets, Shree Rama wealth managers, K&I, etc.

Average in terms of placement but great if You wish to learn Finance in Depth

Likes

The college offers an amazing campus, with all kind afacilities including a swimming pool, gym and dedicated badminton court, squash court and massive football court on hilltop.
The library is extensive and is a great place for spending time in peace while finishing up the task at hand, classrooms are suffecient and well equiped for a class of 65.
The cafterias surrounding the college gprovide good and hygeniic food.

Dislikes

The Food at the mess is average and on a scale of 1 to 10 deserves at 6/10, it could be improved further.
The college needs more exposure and growth to be on par with it's rival colleges who offer higher placements and more services

Internships Opportunities:

The few which approached us yet are JP Morgan, BNY, CRISIL, Kaima Asset, BOI and many more, the internship opportunities this year seems a bit low, with most tasks in equity research, operations, credit ratings and sales

Likes

The Curriculum is very well designed, and is relevant to the current advancements. Many guest lectures are conducted providing exposure with industry Experts.
Placements are a real plus. There is a good mix of companies from the BFSI sector that come with good and diverse job roles.
The campus is really beautiful and peaceful. The amenities like sports facilities and libraries are really useful.

Dislikes

The campus is disconnected from the city that sometimes is inconvenient.

Internships Opportunities:

Summer Internships are a part of the curriculum and every student must do an internship for 2 months. The college calls companies like CRISIL, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of New York and many more for good roles. It provides a nice platform to develop our skills and technical knowledge.

A Comprehensive Journey through SSBF Pune: Academics, Campus Life and Growth Opportunities

Likes

The campus feels vibrant and supportive, with lots of activities and chances to get involved. The faculty are knowledgeable, approachable, and always up for helping out with guidance or mentorship.
Placements are a real plus-there's a good mix of finance companies and roles, and the placement cell puts in a lot of effort. The average package is strong, and almost everyone gets placed.
The course is regularly updated, very industry-relevant, and helps build both technical and soft skills needed for a BFSI Sector with a modern library, Bloomberg terminals, and lively common areas for both study and socializing.

Dislikes

The distance between hostels and campus can be tiring, so improving transport facilities could make campus life more convenient.

Internships Opportunities:

The college provides internship opportunies with companies associated with finance which come with various roles like CRISIL, JP Morgan & Chase, Bank of New York, Bajaj Alliance and many more. This gives us the platform to further develop our skills and get that industry-ready experience.
