Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is highly relevant and fairly comprehensive. It helps understand the current needs of the BFSI sector and is focused to make the students industry ready for the BFSI sector itself. Case study analysis, simulations and the Bloomberg terminal training helps students understand what is required by the corporate world and how we need to upskill ourselves on a regular basis to stay relevant in the market. The guest lectures and industry exposure from the industry experts that are called on campue also help us understand and learn alot about the BFSI sector.

Internships Opportunities

4

We have about 30 companies coming on campus from the BFSI sector for internship and placement opportunities. They come for different roles and take a good number of students based on their criteria of their hiring and the preparedness of the candidate for the industry in terms of skills, knowledge and personality.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for the campus placement from the 3rd semester onwards, after the first year and the internship that the students complete in the summer. The highest package received was from The Federal bank with a package of 22LPA and the avergae package offered is about 11LPA. 100% of the students get placed from SSBF.

Fees and Financial Aid

This is a two year residential program. The yearly tuition fee for the year 2025-2026 is about 12,50,000 ruppees. The first year fee is inclusive of the caution deposit of Rs. 20,000. The hostel and mess fees is inclusive of this yearly tuition fees that was pay to the university at the beginning of the course. Hostel and mess fees have a seperate break up which increase yearly based on the market rates and range from about 50,000 to 80,000 both put together.

Campus Life

5

We have multiple flagship events of various committees that the college has. They focus on multiple areas like sports, finance and other conclaves that help provide exposure to the students. We have a vast and huge resource for learning which includes the physical library and computer labs with internet and software tools that are available like the Bloomberg terminals. There are about 20 student driven committees which help the campus be full of life and bring in multiple events for the students, faculty and staff of the college.

Hostel Facilities

4

We have spacious rooms along with housekeeping staff to maintain the cleanliness of the hostels. The mess food is good on most days and some days we need to manage with treats we bring from back home along with pickles and papads.

Admission

I applied in IBS Hyderabad for the MBA course, NMIMS Mumbai, TAPMI and SSBF as I was looking for the niche course for MBA in Banking and Finance. I received acceptance from IBS but as per the NAAC accredition and the other ratings SSBF was better and also has a better brand as well as industry connection and reputation

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is about 1:20, with about 9 to 10 core faculty members and the batch size to be about 150. The faculty is a blend of industry experts and and qualified academecians. Our director - Dr. Neha Parashar is known for her innovative teaching in the BFSI sector and is an excellent professor and has expertise in the subject matter that she teaches. Dr. Deepa Pillai, our Deputy Director is also an excellent professor and has an immense amount of experience in teaching finance over the last 20-25 years. We have many other professors who come from the industry with first hand experience in working in the BFSI sector along with successful and qualified acamedicians who have immense theoritical experience and help us understand the topics with absolute conceptual clarity. We have a Mid-term exam and an End-term exam for the evalutaion purposes. Along with this we get multiple assignments which help us get conceptual clarity and also are added during the evaluation at the end of the semester.

Interview Experience

4

Yes we had the SNAP exam first, followed by the GD based on the cutoff scores released by the college and then followed by the PI to complete the process for selection. I prepared for these rounds by conducting mocks with my family and friends to understand my level of preparedness to face the actual interview.

Night Life

5

We have a well functioning gym, cafeterias and multiple canteens and coffee stalls in and around the girls and boys hostel for the students to hangout. We have an in-time of 10:30 on campus on weekdays and 11:30 on weekends. The hostel in time is 1:30-2am everyday which means we can hang aorund campus till late at night.

Other Applied Colleges

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
