Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies - [NMIMS Deemed to be University], Mumbai - community

The only college that I've close to a call is NMIMS. NMAT Score 249-90/80/79. Feel free to ground me to reality if you think the call is not possible. My Snap percentile is 97.716. Cat percentile- 89%. I just wanted to know if I can get a decent job after/if I invest around 30 lakhs for an MBA at NMIMS, given the HUGE batch size. I'm an engineer with 2 years of workex and profile 9/8/9. I'm thinking of doing certifications to improve my probability of getting placed. But please, give the truth to me. I'm 24 and repeating CAT seems scary to me. (This is my second attempt in CAT and I always freak out in DILR). Should I repeat or go all out for NMIMS? Your inputs will be of great use to me. Good luck to everyone else who is trying for NM and other colleges. Hope you guys make it too.

Current students and alums, can you please tell me about what life is like at nmims apart from coursework? Since there is no campus how do students bond? And what about night life, leisure activities etc? What’s the rent for 1 bhk in vile parle? And what are the monthly expenses in general?

This year was my first attempt at MBA Entrances. I scored 98.04 in CAT and 250 in NMAT. I have some other calls with MDI gurgaon being my best one. But being A GEM with no work ex and 2 drop years I am pretty worried that I might not convert any of those. So as backup which one of these two NMIMS Mumbai (Core) or BITSOM would you suggest for me to go for ?

Background - Engineer with work ex of 2 years 3 Feb - morning slot Timeline - 8.30-9.30 : orientation and verification 9.30-10.30 : WAT, Watson, work ex update 10.30-11.00 : snack break tea/coffee, buiscuits and sandwiches (unlimited) 11.00 : interviews started I was called for PI at around 12.30 Was free to go by 1 pm WAT : is social activism necessary for survival of democracy? Panelist : 1M 1F Duration: 8-10 min Questions: No TMAY questions asked, directly started work ex related questions while they read my sop. Why you didn’t go for core industry from your graduation stream? Lots of questions related to current job role, learnings, projects,about company & its competitors. why mba ? As I was working from remote working model he asked lots of questions on its advantages and why I chose it over hybrid model etc. No GK or budget questions were asked. Work ex guys do prepare well about your job profile & company. Feel free to ping any doubts all the best !

Qualifications: MBA Class of 2023, NMIMS Mumbai: 9/9/8 Academics 4 years of pre-MBA work experience at an American Hedge Fund Placed as a Product Manager

Yeah, I know, it's a good college and the average package is decent. But in Mumbai, you have to stay in a college without a hostel, with fees of 24 lakhs. Plus, you'll have separate living expenses in Mumbai. And there's only one building available on the campus. Honestly, the return on investment (ROI) is pretty terrible.

Passed out with CTC of 33LPA.

This was the weightage for NMIMS Selection Process last year: NMAT- 50% ,WAT- 5%,INTERVIEW-10%,WATSON TEST-20% (In case anyone wants to learn more about this, DM, I can share a video from where you can prepare for this test),PAST ACADS-5%,WORKEX-10% This is what was told to us during orientation. I don't know why this is not publically available, I don't know why people gatekeep this information, but I thought it would be helpful.

Forget all the variables like Fees, location and such things. What do you all think would be a better college Career wise in the long run. Please provide the reasoning behind the same as well

just wanted to know what is reality of nmims mumbai mba program as fees is close to 25 lacs rent included !! can i expect a decent package of atleast 17-18 lacs ? is it too competitive to get such ?
