So the core reason choosing NMIMS was that I got into central campus which is in Bombay, the financial capital of India. Mumbai has broaden my perspective regarding various aspects. During my admission process, I reralised one thing that all you need is confidence while appearing for the interview. For NMIMS, one needs to clear NPAT, where 2 retakes can be given and based on the merit of NPAT, you'll get the admission in whichever campus applied for. NPAT is a 120 mark exam with no negative marking and the ideal score for NPAT would be approximately 70/120.

What is the percentile required for NMIMS on the CAT?

Sudeshna Bhar
Prashant SethMBA from NMIMS Mumbai(2020)

The cutoff for NMAT 2022 varies in percentile for different NMIMS campuses (Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore, Navi Mumbai), ranging from 80 to 95 percentile, with NMIMS Mumbai having the highest cutoff. Meeting the NMAT cutoff is crucial for students to proceed to further selection stages, which include a Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI).

To determine the final merit list, NMIMS considers several factors, each assigned a different weightage:

  • NMAT Score - 70%
  • Group/Case Discussion - 10%
  • Personal Interview - 10%
  • Academic Performance - 5%
  • Work Experience - 5%

How much should I score to get admission in NMIMS Mumbai?

Prashant SethMBA from NMIMS Mumbai(2020)

To increase your chances of admission into NMIMS Mumbai, it is recommended that you aim for a score of 209-210 in the NMAT exam. It is also important to clear the sectional cut-offs. However, it is essential to note that a higher score does not guarantee admission while a lower score does not necessarily reduce your chances of conversion.

Your performance in the GD and PI rounds is also crucial for the final shortlist. Therefore, it is important to perform your best at every stage of the process. The final shortlist is based on the cumulative scores of the NMAT exam, GD, and PI. It is also advisable to talk to the faculty and alumni to get a better understanding of the admission process and make an informed decision.

What are the average cut-off marks to get admission for MBA/PGDM in NMIMS Mumbai?

Jasmine Grover
Jivan ChaudharyMBA tech Mechanical from NMIMS

If you are planning to get into NMIMS Mumbai through NMAT, it is important to keep in mind that this is the best program to aim for. The exam has both sectional cut-offs and an overall cut-off, which usually ranges from 207 to 210, but can vary every year. Therefore, it is important to focus on scoring well, especially in your strong areas, in order to maximize your score.

Individual sectional cut-offs can vary as well. For instance, the Quant section may have a cut-off of 65, while the Logic section could range from 60 to 65, and the Verbal section could range from 55 to 60. However, it is not advisable to focus solely on clearing the sectional cut-offs, as many students who do so end up missing the overall cut-off by just a few marks.

It is important to note that even if you have a very high score, it does not necessarily guarantee success in the GDPI process and final admission. There have been cases where students with high scores were not able to convert the call, while others with a score of just 208 when the cut-off was 207 were able to successfully convert the call and secure admission.

Therefore, it is important to approach the selection process holistically and focus on performing well in all aspects, including the GDPI process, in order to increase your chances of success in securing admission to NMIMS Mumbai through NMAT.

I have scored 184 in the NMAT. Do I have any chance of getting admission in NMIMS Navi Mumbai or ISB Hyderabad?

Akriti Guptalives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

With a score of 184 in NMAT, you have a decent chance of getting admission to NMIMS Mumbai, but as the cut-off for ISB Hyderabad is usually higher than that of NMIMS, so your chances of admission to ISB may be lower than NMIMS Mumbai.

That being said, the admission process for both NMIMS and ISB is holistic and takes into consideration several factors other than just NMAT scores, such as academic performance, work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in the interview and/or written exam.

Therefore, it is difficult to predict your chances of admission without considering your overall profile.

I would recommend that you consult the official websites and keep checking the Collegedunia articles to get a better understanding of their admission processes and criteria. You may also consider speaking to current students or alumni of these institutes to get insights into their experience and advice on the admission process.

Is 219 a decent score in the NMAT to get a call from NMIMS Mumbai (Language-64, LR-84, Quants-71)? Will I get a chance to give an interview?

Vinisha Vasudevan
Advait JoshiLives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

219 is a decent score but getting an interview call from NMIMS Mumbai would also largely depend on other factors like the competition pool, the difficulty level of the exam, and the admission policy of the institute.

If we see the past trends, NMAT cut-offs for the main campus are usually around 230-235 with the sectional cutoffs being around 98-99. NMAT 2022 was not one of the easiest so it is speculated that the cutoffs would go down a bit as compared to last year’s.

But I would still suggest not keeping your hope high and a backup option. Even if you clear the overall cutoff, your sectional score might create a problem for you. With this score, you could get calls from TAPMI, and KJ Somaiya.

I scored 206 in the NMAT. Can I expect a call from NMIMS? Also, what are the chances of getting IBS Hyderabad?

Sayantani Barman
Divya SarafLives in Hyderabad

NMAT exam is an entrance exam for admission to various management programs offered by NMIMS Mumbai/Bangalore/Hyderabad and IBS Hyderabad, among others.

A score of 206 in NMAT is not high enough to receive a call from NMIMS Mumbai/ Bangalore/ Hyderabad, which means you will not be considered for admission to these top-ranked institutions.

IBS Hyderabad will contact you for the joint interview in their Hyderabad campus, but depending on your score, you may be allocated to one of the other IBS campuses like Mumbai, Gurgaon, Jaipur, etc. IBS Hyderabad ranks higher than these other campuses. Therefore, carefully consider your options and make an informed decision based on your goals and preferences.

What are the chances of getting a call from NMIMS Mumbai or Hyderabad with 170 score & 2 years of work experience as well as a postgraduate degree in Commerce?

Sayantani Barman
Sarmistha Dutta RayStudied at University of Mumbai (2019)

NMIMS Mumbai and Hyderabad are both on the high cut-off list due to their popular demand.

  • Looking at previous data from a few years back NMIMS Mumbai accepted students with scores of 190 and NMIMS Hyderabad accepted students with scores of 170.
  • But due to the heavy competition and demand of Mumbai and Hyderabad, the cut off has risen with time.
  • The previous year’s records state that the cut-off for NMIMS Mumbai was 207 to around 212.
  • The cutoff for NMIMS Hyderabad was around 190.

Both of the cut off exceed the score you have mentioned in the question. Moreover, NMIMS does not consider work experience if the score is below the cut-off. It only accepts work experience if they cleared the cut-off. It is kept as the second criteria.

Is NMIMS NMAT exam tough?
S
Sweta Kumari
Mar 28, 2024 16:41

The NMAT entrance exam difficulty level is easy to moderate. The NMAT Exam Procedure after the Exam includes writing and submitting the SOP, discussing the case study, followed by a personal interview.  (SOP) is a reflection of your best qualities, your journey, and your achievements to date with an emphasis on Why you wish to pursue an MBA and the Intent to join NMIMS. Make sure you are honest and portray the Best of Yourself in a well-structured essay. A case study discussion is, for the most part, a 20-minute or so brief cycle whose target is to choose the students who can perform well in a group. Aside from this, the theme given likewise encourages specialists to know the different characteristics of a competitor's attitude. Your aptitude was checked in the entrance test, your relationship-building abilities' were checked in GD, and presently comes the turn of measuring you on your own norms through PI rounds.
